Poker Alice's ghost. Heard lots of unexplained noise. BUT IT made the stay fun

We stayed in the Calamity Jane Cottage. I called the owner, Wayne, upon arrival and he gave us the code to enter the cottage. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay, including coffee. The stay was very pleasant, and we would stay there again when we return to Deadwood.
The cottages are in Downtown Deadwood, so there was a little noise from traffic, but not terrible. The nearest grocery store is in Spearfish, which is about 10 miles away.

loved the location and privacy. a mule deer even came about 10 feet from the deck.
the coffee maker took almost an hour to brew a pot and the storm windows were on so we weren’t able to open the bedroom windows for that cool night air.

How close to downtown.
The porch area had no view. You stared into the back of a vendor tent. Had we known about this we would have just stayed at the hotel next door.

This property was great! A little bit dated, but VERY clean and comfortable. We had a 2 bedroom cottage so could cook instead of going out for every meal and could visit comfortably in the living room. Also had just a short walk to downtown so the location was very convenient.
It could be updated. There was soap but no shampoo or conditioner although it stated that toiletries were included.

The location and the space are very nice. The outdoor kitchen was nice.
Little dusty and right on the main road so it was very loud. The other bedroom could hear the unit next door all night. If you plan on a good night's rest this is not the place.

Roomy, clean, close to everything.
A little noisy and living room furniture is worn out.

The rooms were very nice and it was great to have space to relax. Good location to everything in town.
The wedding party next to us was very loud after hours. And there was not enough parking space.

It’s location and it allowed our 3 dogs.
Fee was a little steep for our dogs…$50 per dog, per day.

Great location. Adorable cottage.
Someone left bottle caps in the hot tub. Could have been cleaned.

The location is excellent, the cottage was clean and everything you need is right there! They even sprinkled rose pedals at my request, and I can't thank them enough for that!
There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

Great location.
The couches were too soft. Its hard for older folks to get up.

Wayne was an excellent host! He was accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. I would book this same cottage again because of our host, location, and scenery (in that order). The walk to historic downtown was easy to make all three nights that we stayed. Thanks, Wayne for a memorable vacation!
