The cottage is located immediately above a roaring spring.
The location is a little remote.

Friendly greeting. Helpful information provided. Decorated beautifully with nice touches, even fresh flowers. Rushing stream below property enjoyable to see and hear.
Certainly off the beaten path but excellent directions got us there just fine.

It was perfect.

Loved it! The host Doug and Alice (and Skippy) were the best. The cabin was absolutely beautiful with an amazing view of the creek. We hauled in our bikes in a covered trailer and didn't have any issues getting there. Can't wait to go back!!!!
No wifi.

The location was beautiful with leaves changing and the river flowing just below our deck. The room was spacious and comfy with quilts and kitchen amenities. Hosts were kind and friendly. The drive is off the beaten path but well worth the journey.

Cutest cabin ever. No kidding. Beautiful, close view a
of a large creek. Rustic drive, more like a trail for the last 2 miles, but we made it without an issue with our 2 wheel drive SUV. The fact that the place is located deep in the wilderness made it incredibly fun. The host was great and the unit very clean. Perfect place for a weekend.
I would be weary of attempting the drive to the cabin at night or in a heavy rain as the last two miles to the cabin is a single lane road in the woods. However, the road is flat and easily manageable on a nice sunny day. To be honest, it was a nice, adventuous drive.

The location is literally a hidden gem and can be hard to find but with the host's directions she sent me prior to visiting, I was able to find it with no problem. After finding the locations, Alice greeted my wife and I with a welcoming heart like coming back home. Alice and her husband out did themselves with a beautiful place to lodge with an amazing view and lots of attention to detail with the decorations. I would definitely recommend as a couples get a way trip but be prepared to have no signal. At the end of the day if you want to go anyway as Alice for directions and she will take you to the moon!
Obviously no phone signal or gps signal.

Everything! The hostess was extremely friendly and kind. All of the interesting and adorable touches made it so charming. A nice pathway by the creek with clever little signs to guide you. The combination of the sound of the creek below and the very comfy bed made for a very peaceful sleep. We wish we could have stayed longer! Love, love, love!
A longer stay ;)

Review says a couple sentences but there is no way to sum up the beauty of the cabin, property or the hosts without going on and on. Property exceeds expectations, hosts are amazing and beauty as far as the eyes can see. What do you want to do fish, hike, relax, explore the area...it's all at your fingertips. I have traveled all over America and Europe and by far this was my best stay anywhere. If you want privacy you got it, if you want a casual chat with Doug & Alice (whom are incredible people) you got it, if you want to just chill and pet Skippy you can do that too. Point being whatever you want is here for you from total isolation to casual interactions with good people. I travel alone and felt totally content and safe. The value is ridiculous when you look at what you get compared to how little it costs. You can't put a price tag on the experience gained from someone willing to share their little piece of heaven on earth with you. I could go on and on but then you will think I'm related or something. Haha, I am not. I am just a big fan of sharing positive experiences in hopes others can derive the same type of peace and joy I recieve when I find something worth sharing. The Owl's Perch is exactly that...a hidden gem worth sharing. Everything they list is spot on and if you don't believe it check out the pictures I took during my stay. Sometimes a picture truly is worth a thousand words. If you pass this one up, you have passed up a stay of a lifetime!
Not negatives at all but some people need to be aware. When they say you will lose cell service you will (that was a good thing for me) but landline is available. The drive in is easy if YOU FOLLOW the well written directions Alice provides. I have a small car and it was no problem traveling the roads. Shop before you get there as you leave the world about 30 miles in your rearview mirror and you probably won't want to leave (I know I didn't) so plan accordingly so you can enjoy staying right where you are! NOTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT THIS PROPERTY, IT'S ACCESS OR THE OWNERS!
