friendly reception and waiting staff. Great location.
We moved rooms as the first room we had looked out into a derelict building and was a very depressing view. The front desk manager was very helpful and moved us the next day.
The lobby is rather bare and loud as the bar is so close to the front door but we got used to it. But we are in our 70’s so probably do not represent the average guest.

Unique property—sister to The Crosby Street Hotel, hits my preference for non-chain, run of the mill hotels.

A wonderful warm welcome from staff, lovely comfortable rooms and communal spaces. Lovely design by Kit Kemp. A great location - will definitely stay again
I love a swimming pool but the gym is a decent size so that was fine

It was a funky fun hotel in mid town Manhattan. Room was comfortable and welcoming. Staff were friendly and talkative about the hotel. Decorations were unexpected but great. Really enjoyed the experience.
No Tea or Coffee facility in the room.

Great location with restaurants and shopping nearby. Beautiful design with good selections of art works and decoration.
Overall very good. Staffs are friendly in general except one hostess in the bar/restaurant who seems not in service mood.

It was my 3rd stay at this hotel. The hotel is nice but it has a bad accounting which ruined our holiday. They withdrawed several times from my credit card, now, some of the charges is repaid, but they still didn’t pay some amounts to me. (I am still waiting) They "accidentally" overcharged the extras, then they realized their mistake, they took a guarantee amount in the chek-in, after chek-out instead repay this guarantee amount to me they charged 3 times more. I send several mails them but they did not return to correspondence on this subject, I still do not know where I paid and how much. My credit card was canceled because of the mistakes they made. I will not be able to recommend the hotel that does not apologize for so many mistakes.

it was fun, colorful, uniquely bohemian, and elegant. The staff was friendly and helpful, not pretentious and conceited like other hotels.

My daughter and I are great admirers of Kit Kemps incredible designs so it was lovely to enjoy this luxurious hotel and admire her work. The restaurant was very buzzy and popular with a sophisticated crowd and the food was lovely.
My only criticism is the price as we stayed in 2 other luxury 5 star hotels which for us were in a better location.

My family and I stayed at The Whitby as part of a birthday celebration in NYC. Although it was only an overnight stay, we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the hotel. The hotel itself is just beautiful, its like walking through an art gallery, every wall is covered with art & gorgeous wall paper, the Whitby is a feast for the eyes. Also, loved the shower, the duvet/the comfort of the bed, the quietness of the rooms and the English Breakfast. All the staff were kind and quick to help. We will definitely stay at The Whitby again!
No baked beans with the English Breakfast....LOL
