The rooms and interior were quite shabby.

Didn't try it. Didnt want to travel and find another bldg. The bed was so bad And I found our they knew it was bad and still put us in there. If I have to chase a meal I will go somewhere I know.
Different location for food.

Friendly staff. Comfortable room.
The pool has not been open for a year. The lodge and rooms had the pipes freeze in the winter so limited set up still at the end of May (ice machine not turned on, restaurant not open the day we were there. Breakfast was in a bag with limited options.)

It was nice and quiet because only a few rooms were available. There was a lot of grass to walk your dog. The towels were nice and soft. Great place for dogs because of the private entries.
The entry light had to be on for the TV to work, so you couldn't lay in bed and watch and then turn it off, you had to get up! Also, the only light in the bathroom was a very noisy fan light.

Only Grab & Go breakfast available. Good location for localy planned activities.
Had to brew own coffee, or head down to the nearest Casey's. No Starbucks anywhere in the vicinity.

location is great, cabins were nice
No dumpsters available because of the renovations. There were many mix-ups for check-in because of renovation changes, but I was not notified of these checkin time changes leaving us stranded the first night. I had to book and stay at the Hampton Inn because no one was available to check us in…however I was still charged for the first night evening though they cancelled my reservation because I had not checked in by 9pm. I had contacted the property several times to confirm that I would be checking in between 10:30-midnight and had received a message that it was no problem at the time. But it is still a nice play to stay and we got into a very nice cabin the next day.

We loved the open area which was perfect for just relaxing, playing games or hanging out and talking. The beautiful Christmas trees was such a blessing to get to see. The place was so wonderfully decorated for Christmas.

Quiet, beautiful area. Clean, comfortable. Pet friendly.
The drive along the river from Madison. Dangerous road, traffic is fast and wild.

Very good. Lots of good coffee and a wide assortment of good breakfast food. Made every effort to get people
shuttle to different areas. Gave great access ability to those that wanted to enjoy the ride, the scenery, and not have to pay attention to all the comings and goings of the undecided.
If there was a bit of an announcement for arrival and departures of shuttle, in case you are shopping, eating, or just paying attention to the time. Although, the drivers made every effort to get everybody on to the shutter.

Bathroom appeared to have been recently remodeled. Towels were new and good sized. Housekeeping staff very helpful.
Lunch buffet was excellent, large variety and reasonably priced. Our waitress, Virginia, was very personable and provided excellent service.
The front desk staff was consistently uncommunicative and unfriendly. There was never a greeting when entering the lobby even if you were the only person in sight. There was never so much as an acknowledgement or thank you when turning in our "order" slips for our grab and go breakfast for the next mornings. This demeanor was consistent among all persons staffing the front desk. The outdoor trash container near our room was a large, uncovered indoor type waste basket. Every morning the basket had been overturned and the contents were strewn all around in the walkway. Looked as if a raccoon had visited during the overnight.

the balcony
the views shown when I booked weren’t there. we had to call the office to have trash picked up and when I called that morning by 9am at 7 pm I had to call back because raccoons were tearing the bags apart and spreading the trash everywhere. I had to get a broom to sweep my room floor and balcony that had leaves in the room and all over the balcony but the balcony is to be expected. then I called and asked if I could come get towels and trade my other ones and I was instructed to put those outside also. we had staff come into our room 2 days in a row and then when they saw we were there they took off out of the room. my husband stopped the second person on the second day. I called the office to ask if this was normal with our room already being paid for and the girl at the front desk said no not normally. my husband and I were there for our anniversary and could have been doing anything and to have someone come in really upset me. we were left with a half of a roll of toilet paper that was left from a previous guest and finally on the second day I was able to get a roll for a 4 day 3 night stay. just overall upset with my choice to stay!

view from patio and size of room
Every time I come here I have to call and have someone clean the patio of bugs, spiders and webs and turn tv on for me because can’t find signal. There was NO Internet or Wifi connection. Because of that I probably won’t be back and I usually come every year.
