Ok price but needs a huge update

It was cheap

It was not clean at all, toilet ran all night long kept me awake even with the door closed. Breakfast was ok. They had such a big room which was extremely hot and one person hand making breakfast on a tiny griddle.

breakfast was decent, staffs were welcoming. its an okay place to stay, nothing over the top, rooms were tidy.

you get what you pay for, do not expect a 4-5 star hotel experience.

This is a horrible place to stay.

Absolutely NOTHING.

When we arrived at this hotel it was immediately clear that there had been serious false advertisement on their website. I reserved this place just for the jacuzzi and heated pool that was shown on the site. The pool and jacuzzi haven't been in use since 2019. The fitness area is just in shambles. not safe at all for anyone. When I reserved the room i had requested that we be placed up front close to the office. We were in the far back corner where no one should dare go out after dark for fear of being robbed or shot. I also requested that an extra set of towels be placed in the room before we arrived and this too had been ignored. There was only one towell and i washrag in the room for 2 people. I then called the front desk to request more towels only to be told "Housekeeping is gone until tomorrow and there was no one to give me towels.You will just have to wait until she shows up tomorrow." When I called the front desk about these issues all they'd say is "I just work here and don't complain to the owners because they do not care." I was livid. it was complete false advertisement. The rooms they have in their pictures do not even exist. My incidental money still has not been returned even though they promised to return it within 30 minutes after I checked out.

breakfast was decent and the staff were nice. also pretty nice shower

there was a bug in my bed and the sheets were dirty had hairs and dirt all up in em like I was in someone elses filth which I probably was. also had to pay security deposit in cash even though I payed online with paypal cause I didnt have my debit card with me. and I know im probably never gonna see that back

will be returning.

the grand Texan has been a favorite of our family for a long time. while it had experienced a steady decline in recent years, it seems there’s a new owner or at least new management. everywhere there are signs of improvement and new items. while the pool is closed for much needed overhaul, there is a fresh hot breakfast with eggs beans and excellent potatoes made to order. the video games are functioning as well, even the classic claw machine. The atrium is still a little rowdy late into the night, but the good thick walls and numerous soft pillows ensured us a sound comfortable sleep. all in all, it seems the grand Texan is on its way back up and will be a very nice stay in the coming months.

I didn’t stay. I left. I wasn’t about to lay down in that nasty place

Nothing, pool area was closed. I was asked for my credit card. I assumed for verification until my phone went off with another charge. She said it was a $50 deposit. Don’t see it back on my card yet. Disappointed that booking.com even sets me up to be subjected to such a place.

Rude and extremely unwelcoming.

The night guy was EXTREMELY RUDE! He went out of his way to be UNHELPFUL. He told me that he might not honor my rate. He acted as if I was a burden. He put me in TWO rooms with busted heaters. HE IS THE SOLE REASON that I’m giving a negative review. He should be replaced immediately.

Couldn’t even bring myself to stay.

Nothing. I checked in, opened the door to the room and turned around and left

The place felt uncomfortable and unsafe. Some guy followed me and my kids to our room and was asking us our room number. I went in the room and waited until he left then we left and went to another hotel. Also the pool was “under construction” although after seeing the place I wouldn’t have swam in it anyways and it looked nothing like the pictures. The beds in the room were wall to wall and there was no room to walk. There was no exterior window only a window facing Inside to a very strange big open space. The smell was gross and it was a huge waste of money. The location is creepy as well. I’m not usually picky and stay at lower priced hotels but I had a bad feeling at this place.
