On the edge of the fortified Fenicia farmhouse is Torre Gigliano, a 12th-century structure built at the foot of the Murge plateau. Torre Gigliano is immersed in an expanse of olive trees in the countryside of Ruvo di Puglia, a town rich in history with an important Romanesque cathedral and the Jatta National Museum, which collects an archaeological collection dating from between the sixth and third centuries. A. C. Equidistant from the Murge and the Adriatic coast, it is located just 15 km from the sea and Castel del Monte. Wrapped in a mysterious past that tells of templars on the Via Francigena, used as a watchtower and as an astronomical observatory, the house is enriched by a spiral stone staircase, unique in its kind and of extraordinary beauty. The tower has always belonged to the Fenicia family and the current owner, Alessandra, collected the maintenance work of her father Antonio, completing it and making this home a small and rare jewel for sobriety and respect for the original setting. It is part of a thriving farm that produces extra virgin olive oil and PGI black trojan wine. The fruits of a small organic vegetable garden and orchard are available to guests depending on the current season. To fully enjoy the palpable peace of the place, it is possible to have, on request, a personal trainer and wellness treatments, as well as excursions, trekking and climbing in the Alta Murgia Park, where you can recognize the numerous edible wild plants present in the area.

we were prepared to be disappointed by reality, but in fact this place is even more beautiful than visible on the pictures. The surrounding landscape is fantastic, and with a rental car there is much to explore.
Thanks for the great stay!!!

We had a magical stay at Torre Gigliano! Alessandra welcomed us warmly and was at our disposal in case we needed assistance. The Torre is in the middle of olive groves. There is complete silence except for crickets and birds! It is charmingly furnished. Bedroom large, bed comfortable and the bathroom is spacious, it has a separate shower and lovely claw foot tub to luxuriate in. Outdoor seating has been thoughtfully placed so that you can enjoy sun or shade at any time during the day. We cherished the solitude! This does not mean isolation! The charming Ruvo Puglia is minutes away. Here are many restaurants and our favorite spot for the best provisions, including wine, L’angolo Divino!
There are many interesting places to visit within a short drive from the Torre. The Adriatic coast, Puglia landscape… in May wild flowers are in full bloom.
Thank you , Alessandra for your warm hospitality.

The property is amazing : an old, very nicely decorated, fortress in the middle of a huge olive tree plantation. The nearest city (Ruvo) is only 3 kms away and offers a lot to be seen, with the very nice family atmosphere of a typical town of southern Italy. We were very kindly and efficiently taken care of by the owner Giuseppina. We strongly recommend this rental !

This was a truly unique and fun experience. As you should gather from the description and photos, it is an updated 500 year old tower. The setting is conveniently close to the town so getting groceries or dinner is a ten minute drive. But still far enough away that you feel complete seclusion. It’s in the heart of a working olive farm.
Please don’t expect some posh 5 star experience. It’s not that. But it has all the amenities you need and is clean and well maintained. If you’re looking for a unique experience while exploring Apulia, this is it

An ancient medieval tower, lovingly restored, this was a magical place. Nestled amongst ancient olive trees in the beautiful Puglian countryside the only sounds at night came from the abundant wildlife. An aesthetic treat, if peace and quiet and a taste of rural Puglia is what you want, this is a fabulous place to stay.

Hospitality and History Kiss
A most memorable stay! Allessandra aka Giuseppina was a most gracious host. Our lives have been enriched by coming to know her as well as her magnificent home. The stonework of this amazing property was enough to make one feel privileged to live there for 11 nights, but the quality and design of the furnishings are first class. Every comfort was provided in modern style with historic flare. The setting couldn’t have been more peaceful and Ruvo is a lovely town. God willing, we will visit again soon.

Magisch
This is a beautiful old tower.
as if you are going back in time but with the conveniences of today.
The stone spiral staircase has stolen my heart.
Everything was super clean. and well cared for.The bed is wonderful.
There were several seats with shade or sun.
From the roof of the tower we enjoyed the sunset and the starry sky.
There is a vegetable garden from which we have made delicious meals.
Alesandra is a very nice person and is there for you if you should need her
There are many nice towns to visit and many good restaurants.
We have come to rest in this beautiful tower.
Thank you alesandra!
To us you are a special tower keeper :)

Davide, Barbara e Giampiero.
