We have had a wonderful time (June) at this amazing property. The house is clean, off the beaten pass, has a really nice pool, and lots of nature around it.
the communication with the property managers was easy, quick and focused. They greeted us at the agreed upon check in time, showed us around and gave us helpful tips for the stay.
We would come again any time!

Overall we had a great holiday our hosts ellie and Charlie were really helpful
And welcoming. however we were there for a week and the first three days a builder directly below our property working on new holiday houses started breaking up large rocks with a jcb and hammer drill so what we had hoped would be a peaceful week certainly didn’t turn out that way. The noise was horrendous and constant from 8am-5pm - Ellie and Charlie had not been aware of this work and did speak to the builder who ceased using the heavy machinery from mid week which was a welcome relief but so upsetting given we were only there for a week and picked the property for its total tranquility . The area is very rural and unspoilt and the property is lovely and had everything we had hoped for and was well equipped. You have far distant sea views and overlook olive groves but you certainly cannot walk to the beach a car is therefore absolutely essential. We had two earthquake tremors during our stay .. very minor and we were told common in this area but a little alarming when we had never experienced anything like it before.
The local town a short drive away has supermarkets and a selection of shops so you can get everything you need for a self catering holiday. The property is in a stunning location but certainly wouldn’t be a place to take young children as there are steep steps down to the pool area and once down by the pool it isn’t fenced.

We booked this place without really knowing anything about the region or the location and we were blown away by the beauty of the property and its surrounds! One of the most amazing views I’ve seen. We were close enough for a day trip to Olympia and for another day at the beach. Kids loved the pool even early in the season. We absolutely loved this property!

This is a beautiful house and property. The location is somewhat remote which means driving to town and beach, but it's blissfully private and serene. The views are magnificent. The home is tastefully and comfortably furnished and decorated. The kitchen is very well supplied with high quality utensils which made cooking a pleasure. The hardest part was leaving this terrific vacation home.

Beautiful house, well equipped and with an exceptional view. The house managers, Charles & Ellie we’re on hand to sort out the various issues we had with electrics and plumbing. The pool was perfect and nearby there are some great beaches and of course ancient sites. A wonderful place for a Grecian getaway.

The previous reviews speak for themselves and we can absolutely confirm them. If you want to be undisturbed in a top location and a very well equipped house, you've come to this place. Here you can enjoy and let your soul dangle. Also from our side special thanks to Ellie and Charles again. They really take care of everything you need, especially the arrangements to be able to meet the Corona travel rules. Here are two more unknown tips at the end, the Church in the Cave (next to Smerna) with a spectacular view and the restaurant AntiPeina in the mountain village Schini with a beautiful sunset. Google for them and you can reach both in about 15 minutes. Greetings from Germany from Petra, Martin, Roland and Gerhard

Best VRBO house ever!
We've stayed an dozens of VRBO properties over the years and the Old Stone Olive House was the best by far!! The pictures cannot do it justice. The house was so well planned and decorated ensuring every need was meant with incredible style and comfort. W
This was a family holiday with 8 of us and everyone had enough space and more than enough to keep us all happy. On a side note, the quality of dinnerware and cookware was superb.
We can't say enough about the property and hosts, it helped us with our vacation goal: Making Memories. Thanks to this beautiful house many happy memories were made!

Lovely, comfortable house, no expense spared on the furnishings.
The house is in a lovely peaceful position and very well equipped with good quality pots, pans and linen. The terrace having the bug net all around is absolutely inspired, it means you can be outside anytime of the day or night without being bothered. The pool was lovely if a little chilly (we were there in May) but we used it everyday. Overall we had a comfortable, relaxing stay which is exactly what we were looking for.

A lovely villa with incredible views
This was our second visit to The Old Olive House and we plan to come back again. The setting is so beautiful that we relaxed instantly. The house has everything a family could need. A well stocked kitchen, games for the kids, comfy beds, indoor and outdoor eating areas and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the view. On the few days we managed to drag ourselves away from the villa we visited Olympia, mountain villages, stunning beaches and bustling street markets. A perfect holiday.

Stunning location and a lovely house with extremely helpful hosts
We loved our stay. We were particularly pleased that Zacharo and the area round about is not overrun with tourists, especially at this time of year. We all agreed that the location is brilliant with amazing views, and The Old Olive House is a wonderful place for a holiday. The property managers, Charles and Ellie, could not have been more helpful and we were very happy with their recommendations for things to see (Messene particularly), and where to go for eating and shopping - and of course we were very lucky with the weather. Thank you.

Arcadia
This is an extremely well kept property in a lovely part of the southwestern peloponessos
You can see it is more than an investment for the owners as there is really a properly equippped kitchen where you can cook and even bake should you fancy it
Nice rustic crockery, fluffy towels and additional pool beach towels are plentiful
There are even herbs growing outside the kitchen and Charles and Ellie who look after the place give you a welcome stock ( eggs, milk, butter water - even a complimentary bottle of very good (ktyma mercoury) wine ). They are English which might give reassurance to people who do not speak Greek or are familiar with Greek customs. Most importantly they are a lovely couple and very helpful who have lived in the area for long enough to know it inside out
What s not to like? Nothing really it might be too remote for some being 3 Km s up a mountain ( we felt perfectly safe and enjoyed the view), the drive is steep and may scare some and the master bedroom door needs a bit of joinery as it does close not fully
Ow it s perfectly maintained in a virtually untouched part of one of the most striking provinces of Greece( olyimpia 15 min, bassae 30 min, pylosnetc also close even my stars doable as a day trip) close enough to Patras should people decide to drive

A really amazing place to stay with spectacular views- very high quality
Everything was lovely - the furnishings and rooms, the pool and bathing area, all the terraces. The position of the house is really amazing and everything felt luxurious and quality but still authentic and Greek. The house is looked after very well by Charles and Ellie who also gave us some great ideas for places to go. Really recommend it - had a lovely stay here.

Beautiful view & Getaway!
This was a perfect week for relaxing! Charles and Eleonore were very accommodating hosts and always a phone call away.
The weather was not the best for swimming; but the house offered enough amenities to enjoy a quiet and relaxing time. We recommend obtaining a SIM card as there is no WIFI in the house. There are many affordable restaurants around town and within 15-20 minutes away.
We had the chance to visit the beach and found to be a beautiful place, would be perfect for a warmer day!! We also visited Ancient Olympia, about 40 minutes away, but we suggest to stay in the house and sip some local wine!!!!! The town was full of friendly people and helpful. The home has all the amenities and is fully equipped. We highly recommend to book your stay here.

Wonderful house with a fabulous view over the Kyparissia Bay. We spend a week end of October weather was still perfect to enjoy the pool. The house is equipped with everything you need. Even the evening with thunderstorms over the bay was a fantastic experience, watching the wonders of nature from the porch.

Elegant, comfortable and well-equipped house in an absolutely beautiful setting
My family and I had an extremely happy week here. The house itself had all the mod cons, spacious rooms and was beautifully decorated. The pool was heaven - kids spend the whole time splashing about, and it was lovely to bob about with views of the blue foothills and olive groves all around. Ten minute drive to long, surprisingly under-populated beaches - golden sand and silky blue sea. Charles and Ellie, who look after the property, couldn't have been more charming and helpful. Happy times!

Lovely place to stay; everything we could wish for easily accessible. Away from it all, and no tourists. Beautiful views, great situation. Property managers, English, very friendly and helpful.

Get away from it all!
We stayed from September 19th for 2 weeks and had an amazing time. The house was wonderfuly equiped with everything you could need, very homely, and had the most amazing view. Charles and Eleanor and their daughter gave us a lovely warm welcome and were on hand whenever we had any questions. The house is a definate if you want a tranquil break away from it all, sat by the pool relaxing! We saw lots of wildlife including the resident tortoise and beautiful gheko's. Thank you for a wonderful stay we would love to come back again soon :-) p.s would recommend having a reasonable size car for the mountain roads!

A perfect holiday setting
This house is beautifully situated, clean and comfortable, everything in good order.
The managers, Charles and Ellie, were extremely welcoming, friendly and efficient, and gave us plenty of helpful local recommendations.
We spent much of our time outside on the shaded ground floor terrace, which has a BBQ, dining table and comfortable seating. We enjoyed the pool.
Olympia and the Temple of Bassae were well worth a visit, as were the gorges. Wild flowers everywhere.
We can whole-heartedly recommend staying at this house.

Amazing Views
The house was beautiful and well equipped. Charles and Ellie were great and gave us good information regarding things to so and see in the area. We had a minor issue with the house and they responded quickly and fixed the issue. The area is not a major tourist area which is what we wanted after several days in Athens. We enjoyed exploring the villages in the area and found several excellent restaurants in town and by the sea. The farmers market on Tuesday morning is a must. We enjoyed all the fresh fruits and vegetables and the house was equipped with a grill so we visited the local butcher and had a feast. It was too cool for us to swim but the pool was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the porch enjoying the views. The house is clean with plenty of fresh linens and everything we needed. I would highly recommend this property.

Great house, beautiful setting!
This home is just perfect for a relaxing get away. The living/dining space is huge, which you can't really see in the photos, we spent many lovely evenings enjoying dinner and games in that space. Close proximity to Olympia, and some beaches too. Pool was too cold for us to use in March but the wildflowers were fantastic.
