About this house rental
We custom built this house ourselves, with every comfort we could imagine, and we invite you to enjoy this oasis within Cambridge. With over 60 windows, it is a free-standing single family, hidden from the street, with a completely fenced yard - perfect for letting your dogs roam free if they are traveling with you. The house has a deluxe gourmet kitchen with an indoor grill & griddle - for when you want a steak in the middle of winter or just pancakes.
The first floor has an over-sized gas fireplace for those cold wintry nights. (If you're staying over Christmas, feel free to get a Christmas Tree and hang stockings from the mantle.) The second floor has a bathroom with washer and dryer, access to an outdoor deck, two bedrooms each with queen size beds and a private office.
Our favorite part of the house - which often works as a family room because no one wants to leave it - is the third floor, which is dedicated entirely to a master suite. It has a 13 foot high ceiling with huge windows that wrap around the master. From the front right corner, you can see the downtown skyline and often a partial-view of the July 4th fireworks in the distance.
The window seat underneath the front windows is the perfect spot to read. Or you may choose the comfy chair under the (remote control) fireplace. The king size bed sits beneath 4 skylights (with remote control solar shades) so depending on the weather, you can lie back and watch the pitter-patter of rain, snowflakes falling, clouds passing, or at night, watch the stars. The thirteen foot high ceiling helps create a feeling of openness.
The house is Gold LEED certified with 10 inches of icynene insulation and top of the line Andersen windows, so it always feels cozy and quiet. The first floor fireplace can easily heat the entire home, but just in case, there's a second fireplace and three heating/cooling zones.
In the master, all windows have black-out shades/curtains so at night, it is pitch black if that's your preference. The master has a separate dressing room, and an amazing bathroom - double sink, laundry chute, 5 head shower with independent temperature control, steam shower, and a huge soaking tub.
The entire house has high speed wi-fi with signal boosters on each floor.
What makes the home magical to us is its location - within a few blocks, you have Harvard University (the College), MIT, Harvard Business School, Whole Foods, excellent chinese and indian restaurants, high end restaurants like Waypoint and Pammys, Central Square and the T. It is also a few blocks from the Charles River. No car is required, but if you need one, we are a straight shot to the mass turnpike which takes you straight into Boston and Logan Airport.
We allow pets - particularly dogs. We have a built in a number of dog-friendly features such as a completely fenced yard (so no dog walks required - just let them out), a 'dog window' so you know when they want to come in, and a 'dog cave' so they can sit in the kitchen but be out of the way if you wish to put pillows or a crate there.
Due to its location (Harvard, MIT, Boston) and amenities, we have hosted many VIPS - from movie stars to royalty to famous authors to famous politicians. All told, we love our home and invite you to enjoy it too.
NOTE: If you enjoyed this property and are looking for a nice summer getaway, we have a Main House (HA 4745951) and a Cottage (HA 4746520) available for summer rentals, also dog friendly, with fenced yard, and a short walk to the beach through a nature preserve.

The house was perfect for our family of four. The location provided easy access to the T and plenty of restaurant options in close proximity. Even better, our college student and high school senior were happy

Everything was great! 2 suggestion:
1. Repair/replace door locks. Bathrooms and bedrooms locks are not lockable. No privacy.
2. Use difference type of bedsheets so they will stay with the beds when you sleep and roll.
BTW, mattress are too soft for everyone in my family.

This was our second stay at this exceptional VRBO in the Cambridge area. We're repeat customers for a reason! It's a great location, 5-star accommodations and hosts that are extremely responsive. With family living in the area, we will return again!

This is hands-down my favorite VRBO we've stayed in. Clean, convenient, and comfortable. The hosts were super nice and very responsive. We worked from home and the office space/desk areas were especially helpful. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

We stayed at 67 Jay Street for our daughter’s graduation from MIT. The location was great with easy access to both MIT and Harvard. The house was well equipped with conveniences and made our stay enjoyable. We also had our dog with us and the yard was perfect for her to be outside with us.

The home was beautiful and the perfect location and amount of space for our week in Boston. Walking distance to great restaurants and shops, and the fireplaces and heating made everything so cozy.

Great location for Central/Harvard Square. House exactly as promised - modern, clean, roomy. Kitchen very nice (made several meals). Yard perfect for our dog. Felt surprisingly private yet steps from everything.

Property is in a premium area of Cambridge near Harvard, Harvard Business School and MIT. Only suggestion is some of the walls could use some touch up paint, other than that really neat rental that was very clean and convenient.

Great house with comfortable beds. Ten min walk to Harvard square and plenty of food options nearby. I’d stay here again.

This house is awesome, even nicer and more luxurious and spacious than appears in the photos. It’s apparent that the owners put a lot of thought and care into making this a quality space. All basic amenities, such as paper towels, kitchen and bathroom bathroom supplies, laundry detergent etc., were provided. The host, Mike, was very thoughtful and responsive. A parking pass was provided and we never had an issue with street parking right by the house. Check-in and check-out were a breeze thanks to the clear and detailed instructions. The location is great, walking distance to lots of nice restaurants and the red line T. One of the best short-term rentals we’ve stayed in. We would definitely stay here again!

We were here to visit Boston and a day trip to Salem. The location was great, we found uber/lyft worked best for us and for a party of five not unreasonable. The parking pass was great and we were able to park very close every day. My recommendation is read the check in materials as I didn't read it all until day 2 and you have to move your vehicle every 24 hours. We did not get.a ticket but we could have and that would have been on me. He also has specific instructions about trash take out which when we were there was backed up bc other parties didnt take it out so be a pal and help the next renter. Very clean, nicely stocked, and cozy. The stairs are slightly steep but doable even if you are not in shape. We would defintely go back.

Our family loved this place. The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed. My family loved hanging out together on the main level with friends we were visiting in Boston. The second lever had a great little office and Visconti that we spent time in. The rooms were perfect size and the bathroom was perfect. The master in the third floor was a dream. Super high ceilings with tall windows, beautify bathroom and comfy bed. This place was amazing and we are looking to return there next summer. We traveled to 3 different states and homes his trip and this home was the best.

We loved our stay in this home, which was beautiful, clean, spacious and well equipped. The central location, close to Harvard Square and the River, was great - we were able to able to walk to Fenway in 30 minutes.
The home itself is bright, modern and has every amenity one could think of. The homeowner was kind enough to leave a visitor's parking pass, and we had no problem finding parking on the street in front for the few days that we had rented a car.
The homeowner was outstanding in his communication, and we look forward to staying here again!

While there was a small snafu at check-in, everything else was absolutely wonderful! We came to Cambridge for a college visit. We wanted to give our future college student a taste of what life would be like there, and I believe Mr. Langlois's place did just that. We appreciated all the detail that went into preparation for our stay, and the ease of the check-out process. Thanks so much!

The property was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. The location was excellent and the host was very responsive. The fact it was dog friendly was an added bonus. I would highly recommend to others and stay again when we are in the area!

Loved the location and ease to public transportation and access to restaurants.
The house was tidy and roomy. We really enjoyed our stay here.
The only 2 comments is that some of the kitchen cabinet doors need adjustments for better opening and closing. The second was that I could not find any extra pillowcases anywhere. There were 6 of us and the house had plenty of towels, pillows and linen but weirdly I could not find an extra set of pillow cases. Pretty minor details if you ask me. Thank you for a pleasant stay. I hope to come back again.

This was the perfect location for us to enjoy watching our daughter’s team compete in the Head of the Charles. The house was comfortable and within walking distance of the river and restaurants. The third floor bedroom was amazing! Thank you for sharing your home. We will be back.

Staying here was delightful. Excellent location and a terrific home that met all our needs and then some. Well-appointed, comfortable, and well-maintained. Hard to imagine anyone being disappointed while staying here. We are retired and travel every year and this is one of the best properties we've visited.

We had a great stay for a family visit to Boston. The house is extremely comfortable and well-appointed. Great location for close walking destinations like Harvard or Charles River. Easy access to the T to get into Boston for all the sights. Quiet neighborhood. Just perfect!

Nestled on a quiet street in Cambridge, this was our home for 7 days! We were sad to leave. Returning our daughter to MIT for school we were located just 8 minutes away. The parking pass was so very helpful and we had no trouble finding street parking. Although the master bedroom was two flights of stairs up, we had no problem going up and down, but this should be considered if you are looking for a single story floor plan. We were on the go a lot so didn’t use the kitchen as much as someone else would have. If you plan to cook, you will enjoy the nice appliances. We ordered a lot of takeout and delivery and there are a lot
of nearby options. The kids enjoyed the many many books in the den and master. The temperature in the home was perfect and it was nice coming home after a warm day on the road. Overall we had a great time and hope to
return again soon..

The host was so prompt in their responses and so welcoming. The house is well loved but we found it to be very comfortable and well equipped. The instructions shared ahead of time were really helpful.
The house is gorgeous and has so much potential. Some areas have signs of typical use but that is entirely understandable. The location is great and a short walk to most things. The neighbourhood is quiet and comfortable.
We enjoyed it so much we wanted to stay longer but it was our scheduling which made it difficult.
Highly recommend and would stay here again!! Thank you so much!
