Accommodation
Ground Floor – The front door leads to a spacious hallway with a separate downstairs WC. Much of the ground floor accommodation is made up of a large and bright open plan living area which is well furnished with defined areas for eating, cooking and relaxing. The whole space is beautifully appointed with large sliding patio doors across the far wall, leading out to the private garden. The sitting area is comfortable with two sofas, arm chair and squashy bean bags, with a large wall mounted plasma screen. There is a dining area with good sized table and seating for six people and a beautifully designed kitchen at the back of the living area with plenty of storage cupboards, granite work surfaces, Belfast sink and island with three stools.
There is a large master suite on the ground floor, the bedroom is spacious with super king size bed and a small sofa. The bed is a very comfortable super king size but can be split into twins if necessary (must be agreed in advance). There are double glass patio doors leading out to the decked area and garden. At the back of the room is a large ensuite shower room with double sized steam shower enclosure, WC and basin. The flooring on the ground floor is travertine tiles with animal skin rugs throughout.
A wooden staircase leads from the kitchen area to the first floor: The Family Suite – is an open plan room with a clever layout to create two distinct sleeping areas. To the right of the stair case is an area with two single white wooden beds and a large dressing mirror. To the left of the staircase is the spacious main sleeping area with a large super king wooden sleigh bed with hanging space behind the bed, bedside tables and a large wall mounted plasma screen. There are patio doors leading out from the room onto the first floor balcony with views of the private garden, shared family garden and swimming pool. There are sun loungers on the balcony for full relaxation! At the far end of the room is a large, beautifully presented family bathroom with freestanding bath, WC and basin, the perfect place to relax after a busy days exploring!
The Summer House is set in the grounds of a family home. There is a private garden area mainly laid to lawn with a decked area immediately outside the patio doors and flowerbeds. A small gate leads to the family garden where you have access to a small sized grass football pitch, which can become a tennis court in the summer. Between the Summer House and the main family house is a stunning outdoor “infinity” style swimming pool which the owners are happy for guests to use respectfully. The pool is heated from Easter until end September.
There is a large gravel driveway shared between the Summer House and the family house with parking for two cars. There is also a large shed at the front of the Summer House with tumble drier and lots of space to store surf boards, wet suits, beach clobber and bicycles.
Karen and John are the incredibly welcoming owners of the Summer House and absolutely encourage the guests to make full use of all the shared facilities including , swimming pool and astro pitch. One dog is welcome at The Summer House but must be agreed in advance and guests should be aware that Karen and John have two gorgeous beagles living with them in the main house
The Summer House is located between the small village of Paul and above the iconic Mousehole Harbour and would make an ideal base for both families and couples alike. There are Pubs, cafes and restaurants within a short walk. There is a small sandy beach in Mousehole, just down the road. The sandy beaches of Porthcurno, Sennen and Marazion, to name but a few are around 20 minutes away. Strictly a non-smoking property. Pets (Max 1) welcome by prior arrangement. Arrival / Departure: Friday - negotiable off season.

Just above Mousehole, a recently refurbished place that fitted the 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids) with plenty of room spare. A highly recommended base for a holiday
John and Karen are the owners who live next door, and they're wonderful and helpful. They really make the place even more special.
There was even cake, butter, milk, and bread waiting for us on arrival!
Try out the steam shower!

We had a really rainy week in Cornwall, but our holiday was nevertheless wonderful, in large part due to this wonderful holiday cottage and the delightful hosts, John and Karen.
The cottage is just a short walk from the idyllic harbour in Mousehole with a handful of great pubs and restaurants. The cottage itself is brilliantly set up for a family, with two good size en suite bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, toys and games, and a big pool (that we braved despite the rain...!).
You couldn't ask for better hosts - John and Karen were friendly and helpful with recommendations for beaches, activities and restaurants to try. We'll be back, hopefully next time with some sun!
Thanks for a lovely stay

We had a fabulous stay in the “Summer House”, gorgeous property. We loved spending time in the pool and playing a game of tennis. A very short distance to walk to the beautiful Mousehole. Would highly recommend a visit.

Wow! What a fabulous place
This was just the best week for all of us. Ages 10 -79.
The house and garden are so comfortable and spacious. The garden is really tropical with acers and bamboo etc and all the facilities were great.
We really loved the use of the beautiful pool and tennis court and ping pong table.
The position is wonderful. Peaceful and yet walkable to Mousehole and the pub in Paul.
We loved hearing the male voice choir rehearsing in the church.
Thank you John and Karen - great hosts, never intrusive but always friendly and helpful. Five star holiday!!

Week at the Summer House
What a great property! We really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Summer House, which is even better than it looked in the photos. John was so helpful, and the pool was a real bonus with just the chill taken off for an unseasonably sunny October.

Amazing Luxury summerhouse perfect for a family break
Amazing location, very clean with lots of facilities. The owners were very accommodating and the Pool was great for our teenage boys including the football pitch and tennis nets. The space in the house is amazing and big enough for our children to have their own space without us all being on top of each other. All modern amenities including great WIFI. It was a luxury find in a hidden quiet spot and central to many other beaches and activity's. We also brought our dog and she was also welcomed within the property with lots of outdoor space that was safe and private to run around. Definitely recommend this idyllic haven in Mousehole!

We had such a wonderful holiday at the summer house with our 18 month old, Mousehole itself is small and we fell in love with it, the beach a short walk (although up hill on the way back to help burn off cakes and ice cream) and wonderful views from the old coastguard and rock pool cafe. Karen and John were lovely and we used the pool a few times which was such a bonus, our little boy loved playing on the step so just his feet were in with a few toys. We would definitely recommend staying here ❤️

The summer House
We had an amazing stay at the Summer House and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners. The property is beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything you could need. The owners regularly checked that everything was to our satisfaction and offered advice of where to eat/what to do etc. Would highly recommend and highly likely to return.

Can safely say this is the best house we've stayed in on our annual Cornwall break! Will stay again!
We really enjoyed ourselves. The weather was great so we went out most days, however if it was bad, you could easily find things to do in the house.
We met John the owner, such a nice and welcoming guy! You could easily have a BBQ with him! Very polite and always offering help etc...
The house itself really suited our needs, really relaxing and we felt like royalty there almost. Very private!
Nice little walk into Mousehole which is a great little village, nice food and the best ice cream ever (must have had about 15 between us all).
The only regret I have is we didn't get a chance to say bye to John and his family and thank them personally as the kids were playing up as they didn't want to leave! Hopefully we were good guests and they'll allow us back - as we would certainly return time and time again

Peaceful and well equipped property
This was a very well set up property, with an excellent kitchen, good sized lounge area and comfortable bedrooms. Karen and John were very friendly, and left some lovely goodies for our arrival. The pool was a nice sun trap and the garden was very peaceful. Wifi quality was good ( mobile reception is limited.) We would recommend this property highly. The restaurant 2 Fore St down the hill in Mousehole was spectacular, well worth a visit or two.

Beautiful property in a great location. The Summer House gave us everything we needed & more. The house is beautifully kept with added luxuries. It’s in a peaceful location & only a short walk away from the picturesque Mousehole harbour. Very happy with our choice!

Fabulous break in beautiful surroundings
From the moment we entered the Summer House we were taken with how stylish and well equipped it was. There was a lot of attention to detail with the decor, and lovely Elemis toiletries in each bathroom.
The bedrooms were comfortable. No tv in the downstairs master suite but this just encouraged me to read my book!
Games and toys of the kids was s lovely touch. As was the use of the games room and pool- which was stunning!
The owners were just lovely, and very jean to make our stay comfortable. Everyday John checked to make sure the pool was warm enough for us to swim in.
Location wise it was perfect. Mousehole is s beautiful coastal village that has some lovely restaurants in a quaint setting.
A fab holiday!

A lovely property, spotlessly clean and with everything you can think of. The owners of the Summer House could not do enough to help us during our stay - so friendly. The location is amazing, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Great memories, thank you.

Lovely base for exploring
We had a lovely time exploring West Cornwall despite the terrible weather! A short downhill walk into Mousehole with lots of cute cafes around the harbour. House a good size for 2 couples and 2 babies.

Unforgettable holiday thanks to stunning house and wonderful hosts
Our holiday in Mousehole was absolutely wonderful, we loved every minute and struggled to leave at the end of the week! The house is so spacious, comfortable and tasteful too. John, Karen and family were not only so welcoming and friendly, they left us a delicious home baked cake, flowers, a bottle of Prosecco and fresh bread with Cornish butter - all such lovely gestures. We couldn't fault the facilities and surroundings, their garden is very beautiful with sea views in the distance, and a whole host of acitivities for the children which really made the holiday. Mousehole is the prettiest Cornish village I've ever visited with little winding lanes, such an attractive harbour and a sprinkling of gorgeous shops and galleries. Thank you so much for a perfect holiday, we can't wait to visit again!

Wonderful, quiet retreat above the town of Mousehole.
The Summer House was absolutely a wonderful place to stay for our visit to Mousehole, Penzance, St. Ives, and the South Cornwall coast.. The two bedrooms are both large with a king bed in each, and a large, private bathroom for each room. The bedroom upstairs also has a lovely alcove with two twin beds for 2 children. The owners, John and Karen, were very helpful, even to the point of increasing the heat to the pool as the air temperature was getting cooler near the end of September! They have a lovely, tranquil piece of property which they were happy to share with us. We could walk into Mousehole for dinner or cook at home in their modern, well appointed kitchen. Thank you so much, John and Karen, for letting us share in your beautiful, quiet retreat!
