We visit this sweet town often but never stayed close enough to walk to the square. It was so nice and a very quick walk. The first day the house had a hard time cooling off but once it did it was comfortable. They have several fans and we loved that for extra noise when sleeping. It has a small dog area out the side back door which was perfect for the fur babies. Beds are not memory foam but comfortable, updated bathrooms were a plus. We stayed 3 nights with 2 teenage granddaughters and had so much fun! Only request being a pet house and I'm so picky about floors a stick vacuum would be nice. We went to Walmart and bought one!

We loved our stay at Nagel House, and wish we could have stayed longer! It was the perfect spot for a group of friends, the house had so much character, and was walkable to town. It was nice having a Keurig with k-cups in the morning, but also had a cute coffee shop right around the corner. Would definitely return!

Really enjoyed the spaciousness, as well as the amenities, comfort and the updated bathrooms of a vintage home. Everything was clean upon arrival. Check in and out processes were super easy. Highly recommend this property.

The Creek Street Nagel house was nice but not kid friendly. The downstairs bedrooms were comfortable but the stairs were steep and the upstairs bedroom was not safe for a 2 1/2 year old because the balcony banister was very low and the stairs were close to the bed. The sunroom bed was in the room with the back door so not safe for a child. I would definitely come back with adults only. It was close to Main St and had a really nice porch to sit and relax on in the mornings and evenings.

Neiborhood was too noisy. TV's and remotes need to upgraded. TV and DVD Player did not work in the sitting room.

Our cousins came in from California and we decided to drive over for the night. We found this house and read the reviews and decided this would work for us. The house of course is an older home but loaded with character. Each room was decorated so cute. We loved it. The night was a little chilly to sit outside after our long day but we all sat in the den and visited. Would definetly rent this house again.

lovely home in an absolutely prime location. The bedrooms are gorgeous and the furnishings are exquisite .large home with multiple locations for additional people to sleep besides the bedrooms. Great parking. Front and back porches are fantastic.
Beautiful new bathrooms. A dishwasher would be very helpful. The couch in the living room is stylish, but not very comfortable
Administrative services by guesthouse Schmidt are fantastic.
Will definitely come again.

Our family visited for a long weekend getaway. This VRBO is in the perfect location walking distance to Main Street and H‑E‑B. House is renovated but still has a lot of the old character included! Highly recommend!

The home was close to everything. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and we could even enjoy a live concert from the restaurant next door as we sat outside the house with the baby monitor!
The bed was comfortable and the home was stylish. Easy to stay with our two large dogs and baby and we enjoyed the fenced side yard (not pictured in the listing).
There were a few hiccups as to be expected with an older home — A/C went out (but was fixed same day), kitchen sink wouldn't drain, water pressure in the shower was pretty bad. But the management team was on top of all the issues and fixed them in a timely manner, even on a weekend. I do wish they would have asked if it was OK to send a maintenance man over when we weren't there before he came. We did happen to be home so it wasn't a big deal.
Overall, very easy and comfortable stay and enjoyed Fredericksburg.

The history of the home is wonderful. The accommodations were just fine, but the value is questionable after fees and taxes take the daily rate much higher. A very responsive couple managing the property.

This was perfect for a 2 night wedding weekend.

The manager(s) of Nagel Haus are superb! While they offered a Kerig with K-Cups provided, my husband prefers drip coffee. They went and bought a new coffee maker for us and provided filters and coffee! Supplies were plentiful. Extremely easy check in and check out! The location is the BEST!
While the house is older, plumbing slower, ( for me-to be expected) pups allowed, it is clean, and very well maintained. It's quaint and the beds were very comfy. They earn 5 stars for their prompt response and supplies provided that one normally does NOT find in rental homes. Thank you Nagel Haus.

This is just the perfect place to stay while in FBTX. Close to everything. Well appointed, comfy, great coffee, awesome linens, attentive staff and much more. We had to leave early due to Hurricane Nicole and they reduced our bill accordingly. STAY HERE when in the Hill County of Texas!

Great location. Restaurant next door has great food. The house needs to get a DEEP cleaning. The air vents are covered with dust, in the corners of wood floors are very dirty.
Aggravated my allergies really bad.
Beds were very comfortable.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Nagel House! Perfect location for walking to Main Street and next door to Hill & Vine restaurant and Sunday Supply coffee shop. Large HEB grocery store within easy walking distance. The home is charming and nicely remodeled with lots of character. We would definitely rebook!

Near downtown
I enjoyed the stay in this pet friendly property. It is a historical property very close to downtown. It is very walkable. The kitchen is incomplete. It is missing a dishwasher and some cooking utensils.

Nagel House is a beautiful home; updated restrooms, everything was nice and clean. There was lots of space to relax in. Gastehaus Schmidt staff were also great. Nathan was especially helpful, coming over to help us with the TV and heater controls. We've used Gastehaus Schmidt since 1995 and they always provide quality service.

We stayed at the Nagel on November 10-12,2020 during coronavirus pandemic to get away for a little reprieve from negativity. The house was very cozy and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the front and back porch! A little dusty and noisy due to workers at other home. The only downside was the concrete mattress in the front room and no access to bathroom unless you walked through main living area, where family were sitting. The front room definitely needs a comfortable mattress and a bedside table. Husband was unable to use his CPAP machine that requires a bedside table. Bed was extremely high and difficult to enter and exit. We would definitely stay again despite the mattress! Thank you for your hospitality! The Matranga & Schiro Family
