A great little hostel, just on the edge of Montezuma but easily walkable to the beaches, restaurants, supermarket and waterfall. Its up the hill but takes max 5 mins to walk up.
The staff (Harold & Crystal!) are super friendly and make you feel completely at home. This isn't a party hostel but there is still a very social atmosphere, with everyone sitting down for breakfast and making plans for the day over a coffee. The dorms don't have curtains so people tend to get up with the sun.
The pool is lovely and gets the sun for the first half of the day, often with monkeys playing in the trees above. Good kitchen, good showers...no question that this is best hostel to stay in if you're in Montezuma!
The 4 bed dorms are quite small, although only really an issue in terms of where to put your bag. There are also a few bugs (mainly ants) around, which is to be expected but something to be aware of. Also there is no aircon but rooms have fans and temperature in Feb drops enough at night that it's cool enough.

Showers are hot and have a lot of pressure. All in the best way.
Beds are comfy.
Windows and doors have mosquito nets.
Breakfast is nice, which contains gallo pinto, scrambled eggs, fruits and toast. Plus coffee or tea.
Pool was lovely.
Room was a little small, but it worked out.
Room has no curtains so a little light in the room, especially on my bed since there was a light outside shining in my face.
Walking uphill from the local busstop to the hostel with luggage can be tough.

amazing looking out on the canopy - saw so much nature! staff are also incredible and super helpful
the beds aren’t that comfortable and there was not hot water in our bungalow. also, no curtains so you are up with the sun!

Tiny elevated houses at the border of the city. Jungle Feeling - trees with monkeys surrounding the houses.

Harold and staff genuinely friendly, excellent hosts. Private room spacious, the pictures flatter but for the price they are good value Breakfast very good. Well located if you don't mind a short steep hill and some road noise.

I love the staff and all the amazing people I met !!
No wifi for a few days but it was bc of a construction accident with the line!

amazing little cottage for my husband and I and our daughter. Watched monkeys from our windows, saw hummingbirds and and black iguana also! Mosquito netting done right, great breakfasts!
I loved our cabana up in the trees, but the “stairs” up mostly didn’t have railing and is treacherous and steep. Definitely not for everyone. I think at least railing all the way up is necessary.

It was an amazing stay! Harold, the host made sure we enjoyed the stay as much as possible. Very friendly and had really good recommendations to activities, restaurants, and transportation. We could easily spend more than 4 nights in Montezuma. Amazing community. On Saturdays you are able to party with all the local people on the only one local bar (there are actually two). The breakfast was really nice, and the atmosphere was amazing - it felt like a home in the jungle. The deluxe 6-bed was more expensive than the 4-bed, but it was also newly renovated and there were more space. The shower and toilet belonging to the 6-bed was really nice decorated and it felt luxurious.
It felt like sleeping in the jungle, which was nice, but sometimes the traffic was a bit noisy. Could be really nice with more space on the common areas.

An absolute wonderful place to stay. Feels like being in the middle of the jungle and you are only 5 minutes away from the town and the beach. Great breakfast and super helpful staff.

The breakfast was really awesome, the staff was awesome and the vibe of the people staying was really chill. The hostel felt like a little community during my stay and people we’re really cool. Johnny and Harold were always super helpful despite working long hours and likely having to answer the same questions multiple times daily. They wouldn’t let you know that though and always were happy to answer questions and provide insight.
The mosquito nets for some reason don’t seem to keep them in the units above reception. I was up for a while and finally decided to dig through my bag to find the bug stray (sorry roomies if I woke you). If possible try to stay in the cabana as I didn’t have this issue in the cabana with five beds.

Really nice area, bit up the hill but worth it. Wake up with monkeys or squirrels right outside your window. Lovely host with a warm welcome, helpful and great tips.

Both room and bathroom are top. The hosts are super helpful and nice. The delicious selection at breakfast completes the stay.

Unfortunately, I have spent there only 1 night. But I really like the ambiance, nice common area so you can meet other travelers. There is even a barbecue. Breakfast was very good and a nice portion! Close to the center, I mean what can be far in Montezuma? :)
The room was pretty small, and the floor outside was creaky every time when people were passing so during the night you can hear it, and the bed was shaking because of that :) I thought there was an earthquake the first time haha

We loved this hostel so much. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the facilities are beautiful and close to the town/beach area. We even saw a bunch of Monkeys near our cabin on the last day. Breakfast was delicious, and they even made it for us early when we had an early shuttle the day we left. We were able to use the kitchen as well. Couldn't recommend this hostel highly enough!
Nada. Was perfect

The hostel has a great location, Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, it seems to attract a good crowd of people and the breakfast is great!
We woke up to monkeys right outside the door. It's walking distance to the beach and the main area of Montezuma!
We were unfortunately only able to stay one night.. :( but that was only because it was fully booked.
