Celso and Juana are amazing host and we had a great time staying at their house. Celso came to the port to welcome us and shared a lot of advice for us to visit the island and understand its customs. The dinner and breakfast cooked by Juana were excellent. The room was comfortable with enough blankets to avoid being cold at night. The (shared) bathroom was very clean. Would totally recommend a stay at Celso House for a full immersion in Taquile island!
Be mindful the house is still a 20minutes steep walk up from the port and prefer travelling with backpack only as hand trolleys are very unpractical on the island

- The family was extremely friendly and helpful.
- The food was delicious and everything was very clean.

Nothing :-)

I warmly recommend this little island to everyone!
We stayed with the Celso family and had one of the best experiences!
The family is really nice, smily and willing to give you the best accomodation they've could.
We had dinner with them - delicious and big, breakfast - really great and full filling.
But more than that, we experienced a native person life by first hand. Celso asked some of the textile families to come visit in the following morning, so we had 1 to 1 explanation and observed by ourselves how textiles has been produced on the island.
Oh and btw, if you're worry you might not have hot water or at all water - it's a myth.

Beautiful island and the accommodations were comfortable! Very cool experience getting to stay with the family and learning more about life on the island. Friendly family - got to practice my Spanish!

Host family was very lovely and caring. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and Celso's stories and information about the Taquile island and it's people were very interesting. He managed to tell us all those things even though he speaks only little english and we speaks only little spanish. Big recommendation for this place.

The location of the house is perfect: great view, easy to get to and quiet to enjoy the atmosphere of the island!
You have your own room with a bathroom (including a hot shower) just next to you!
The family sleeps a few doors further but is always available for upcoming questions or requests!
The dining area is as well well located and offers enough space to sit and eat together while sharing stories :)

We had great time with Celso and his family, they cooked delicious dinner and the accomodation was clean and cozy. If you are looking to spend time with locals, away from busy tourist lications Taquile Island is an amazing place where you can find sand beaches, friendly people and great views over Peru and snowy mountains of Bolivia! Highly recommended for real travelers!

We loved staying on Taquile island with Celso and his family. We got to experience the island after all the tourists are gone home and enjoy the peace and quiet. I loved the authentic meals that Celso and his wife provided and would recommend the experience to anyone :)
