About this apartment rental
This is the best located apartment in Villefranche sur Mer as it has 5 windows overlooking the port and beachfront near all the restaurants but very quiet. The apartment is luxuriously decorated with pink marble en suites and an independent large bathroom overlooking the bay. It is so close to the water that it is like living on a boat ! Each of the 3 bedrooms are large and two are en suite. The main bedroom overlooks the port. There are no stairs to climb as it is entered off Rue Poilu so is suitable for the infirm. At the waterfront it is 2 floors above the cobbled street which is a cul de sac. The area is over 2000 sq. ft. (180 sq. met) and is therefore larger than most houses but is laid out in the best possible way to ensure light floods all rooms. This is an exceptional property .... called ' The Seagulls' .
APARTMENT LAYOUT: Best apartment in Villefranche. The 3 bedroom apartment is very large and has a u shaped layout. Built in 1820 (and traversing Rue Obscure, dating from the 13th century) , the entrance has bedroom 1 to the left (2 single beds) , then a fully fitted Kitchen with a basement off , housing the air-conditioning, ironing, washer and dryer. Beyond the lower hall is the main room. Bedroom 2 and 3 each have huge sleigh beds with ensuite bathrooms. One of the sofas in the lounge opens out to a double bed. The main bedroom has 2 windows overlooking the port. Everything in the apartment is new , with a very high standard of furniture, bedding, curtains, fabrics, flooring etc. The 3 bathrooms are clad in Pink Portugese Marble and the main bathroom has a high back bath at the window overlooking the port ! All bathrooms have walk-in showers. Floors are Oak and the furniture is French Provencale style . Original paintings from French and Irish artists in all rooms. The kitchen is Cream Provencale with a tiled floor. Total area is over 2000 sq. feet making this the largest apartment in the Old Town . Fibre Optic WiFi installed for high capacity

The space and the views cannot be beat! The ample bedrooms and bathrooms gave our party of 6 so much space to enjoy gathering together for meals and games, as well as privacy with our own showers and bedrooms. Jonathan was a communicative host when we had questions. One bedroom had a foul odor that was quickly addressed. The location was easy to enter and maneuver with only a few steps inside the unit. Mornings were spent with coffee on the balcony watching the bustle of the restaurants below preparing for their day. Restaurant noise below in the evenings was not an issue. We would stay here again in the future. Beautiful place!

My family of 2 adults and 2 teens just stayed at the beautiful Seagulls apartment. The location is the best possible in Villefranche with the apartment sitting two floors above the seaside dining of the old town along the harbor and lower corniche. The breathtaking views from the two small balconies overlook the bay and Cap Ferrat with storybook hillside homes and twinkling lights at night. The apartment is huge and exceptionally clean. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed, large bathroom and balcony overlooking the harbor. The second bedroom has a queen bed and large bathroom but overlooks a charming pedestrian alley stretching from the shore to the top of the village. The third bedroom has two twin beds and also overlooks the pedestrian alley. The huge living room overlooks the marina and has a small balcony, two love seats, dining table, Tv and various side tables. If there is anything I can fault about this property, it would be the living room sofa seating. The loveseats are well worn and could use replacing with a sectional for more comfort. This is a small detail in the grand scheme of the home. The full kitchen is also large with all necessary appliances, cookware, and dishes. There is a large kitchen table. A gigantic main bathroom overlooks the marina. It has a claw foot tub, large double sink counter, shower, toilet and bidet. I was thrilled to find that the clothes dryer worked very well. The town is quiet during the winter with only a handful of restaurants open. The week of New Years is a particularly popular time for the shops and restaurants to be closed. Without a car we were somewhat limited with dining choices. We highly recommend the small charming Restaurant La Grignotere. The town is vibrant and alive during summer. There was a small market a short walk down the alley from the apartment. It had everything we needed though the hours of operation were unclear. The town of Ville Franche is wonderful to get lost and found. It feels very Italian, a bit like the Cinque Terre. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the apartment and offers inexpensive service to Monaco, Nice, Cannes, and Antibes. You need to take a bus to Eze from Monaco. We took the tram from Nice airport to the Nice port then took a taxi into Ville Franche. Our driver dropped us off at a mid hillside location that made transporting our baggage very easy on foot. It would We would recommend this apartment to anyone.

We had a lovely visit to Villefranche. The home was amazing! It has everything you need and more. Perfect location, beautiful views, plenty of comfortable space for a large family. Great communication with the owner who provided all the important information and wonderful local suggestions. We could not have been happier.

This property is every bit as gorgeous as the photos represent. Jonathon was terrific to work with. The location is a dream and perfectly situated close to restaurants and the water. There are the normal difficulties with slow wifi, but other than that-perfection!

I usually stay in the area of Antibes but Villefranche sur mer is a hidden gem.

Magnificent place
This apartment is extremely spacious and beautiful. The area is so quaint with everything just steps away, cobblestone walkways with wonderful restaurants, grocery, and bakeries. Every morning my kids enjoyed a fresh baguette or chocolate croissant from the local bakery. The train station is very close and easy to use. We had a wonderful vacation and truly adored everything about this lovely destination on the sea.

Beautiful Villa Serialis
This villa exceeded all out expectations. The property is elegant and the kitchen diner well planned. Air conditioning was just what we needed when we returned from the nearby beach! The garden and swimming pool are perfect for adults and children with beautiful views across the bay. A very memorable holiday.

Spacious apartment in great Old Town location
The apartment has a lot of room, and it’s location overlooking the harbor and it’s access to the Old Town (restaurants and shops) and train is unbeatable. The air conditioners cooled the place quickly and efficiently, and it was equipped with most everything we needed (some flat sheets or light blankets on the beds would have been nice, rather than just the heavy comforters). The only issue we had was construction in the building during our stay, and the hammers and drills starting at 9 am each weekday was not ideal, but it motivated us to get out early and explore, and we managed.

The apartment is very big and has the best location. The view is gorgeous and you can people watch from your balcony anytime during the day. The apartment has everything you could imagine.

Our trip from June 2016 ...
Imagine you are in the south of France, sitting on your balcony overlooking a bay of clear blue water. Do I really need to continue? Perhaps not, but here you are in VilleFranche by Nice, the (second) home to many a rock star or two. As you sit there sipping on your beverage of choice and you quickly see why they have made a home there.
The Seagulls is part of that whole feeling. A roomy comfortable apartment that allows you to very much enjoy your stay in VilleFranche and surrounding area. It is of course an older building but it's been renovated nicely but keeps it's old world charm. With in unit washer and dryer it's a great place to stay and relax for a family.
The train station is a 5 minute walk, and from there you can make it to Nice in <10 minutes, Monaco in 20 minutes, and Ventimiglia Italy in 40 minutes (market day there is Friday).
Instructions on the use of the TV needs a little updating and a house book helping you better understand your choices of things to do in the area was missing but overall a great find. What was also nice is that although you where overlooking the main restaurant strip down by the water, the noise level was very manageable.

Perfect!!
This is the most perfect apartment you could hope for if you are looking for a peaceful, ideally located French Riviera vacation. We had big plans to walk 5 minutes to the train station everyday to explore surrounding areas, but found it almost impossible to leave Villefranche-Sur-Mer and this exquisite property. Having the market just steps away made it very tempting to stay in and cook every night in the meticulously stocked, granite kitchen. When we did force ourselves to venture out, we noticed that while neighboring villages were cool with March winds, our little bay was always sunny and warm. Each of the three suites is exceptionally private so it functioned perfectly for our family of various ages. Seagulls exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait to come back!!!

Stunning Apartment
Other reviews are completely accurate - this apartment is amazing. We stayed a week with our two adult daughters, one with her partner. There was ample room for five adults and having three bathrooms was a bonus. Beautifully decorated and well equipped Seagulls is easily the best we have stayed in.
The location can't be bettered, waterfront with views to die for, just a treat waking up and drawing the curtains to see if there was a new cruise ship in the harbour. Restaurants aplenty, bakery and a wee supermarket a few doors away. Everything about our stay was perfect and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to everyone.

Fantastic Thanksgiving in Cote d'Azur
My wife and I spent 15 fantastic days in Cote d'Azur staying in "The Seagulls" apartment in Villefranche-sur-mer. One thing I can say is that the information describing the apartment is excellent and it lives up to everything said about it. We had friends visit for one of the weeks and it was very comfortable for two couples. It can easily accomodate 3 couples with three bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and the kitchen and living rooms are very large and spacious. The maid is also great!
I rented a car, but one is not needed and a bit of a liability driving in the very narrow streets, also parking can be challenging with large cars. The train station is very convenient and inexpensive, it is definitely the way to go in season. We took the train into Nice (two stops) frequently and also to Ventimiglia, Cannes, Antibes, La Napoule, and elsewhere. The restaurants in Villefranche are quite good, but it is also nice to dine in Nice and elsewhere using the train to avoid needing to worry about your wine intake.

Wow!
We (2 couples) spent a week and hated to leave. The location is marvelous. Overlooking the bay, great restaurants steps away, really easy access. And, if you know Villefranche, you know that to be able to go out the door and find a market (small) a few doors away is pretty remarkable. It is decorated elegantly, but casually -- very inviting. The spaces are really good, too. Very large main living room -- large kitchen -- beautiful bathrooms. Can't wait to return.
We took the train over from Nice (after arriving by TGV from Paris) and got out at the Villefranche station -- and it was a really easy walk from there. Really a convenient location for everything. Including the beach. Loved it!

Godd service, great location
I arrived at the apartment very late and tired but was delighted with the location. It was just as stated with a lovely view. Very clean and well kept.
When I lost my passport the owner let me remain an extra 2 days until I had organised a new one. Many thanks and very highly recommended.

Elegance by the sea

Just came back from Villefranche - the apartment is fabulous, very bright airy
and comfortable. It is in very traditional French setting with the charm of a
beautiful pedestrianised street to enter the apartment and the sheer beauty of
being less than 10m from the sea on the balconies. It is ultra luxurious and
spacious, just a pity we had to come home. Beds extremely comfortable and
everything needed for an enjoyable time to be found in the cupboards or the
basement.
We hope to return there in the future and would recommend it highly, whatever
the price.
