The large mature gardens (900sq m) are private and enclosed, with sun all day and a shady patio area under the trees for outdoor meals. Well equipped built-in barbecue. There is a splendid upstairs terrace off the master bedroom with panoramic views over the pool, mountains and sunrise. The ground floor terrace is shaded by a leafy pergola. There is off road parking for 2 vehicles, and an electronic entrance gate. The pool is 8x4m. Perfect for families, golfers or those seeking a quiet retreat. Before check in the host (Susanna) already contacts you with details, which is great so you are prepared! Upon checking in the house was spotless. The house is much bigger than displayed on the photos and surprised us in a awesome way. The pool (salt) is 9x4 with many sunbeds, grill and seperate guesthouse with its own bedroom. There are 2 (!!) washingmachines and many amenities for the pool (inflatables) and umbrellas to take to the beach. The rooms are spacious and almost all have their own bathroom.
All facilities are in the surrounding area (walkable). Supermarket is a 8 minute walk, beach is a 20 minute walk, where also is the Port of Puerto Banús with many restaurants. Nearer to the house there are also many restaurants (Fat Mama Trattoria is very nice).
We stayed with a family of 9 and had a great time in the house. Would recommend and book again!

We could not have asked for a better stay! Amaya was so helpful and friendly.
The location is perfect, just a short walk up the hill from Puerto Banus marina and the beach.
The pool is beautiful with plenty of Sunbeds, lots of space and children’s toys for families. A poolside BBQ and an oven inside for cooking. A tap with filtered drinking water, and all the appliances you need!
Quite a few stairs and hills so maybe not for small children.
Over all it was a perfect trip.

Hemos estado una semana muy bien. Las zonas exteriores son excelentes, una piscina con un buen tamaño y gran barbacoa.
Las habitaciones están bien, pero los tamaños muy desiguales, se complica el reparto cuando van varios matrimonios, y la cocina es justa para una casa tan grande.
Pero lo compensa todo cuando en pleno mes de agosto tan cerca de Puerto Banus, tienes esa tranquilidad, disfrutando de las zonas exteriores tan agradables.

Indican que está prohibido llevar animales y tienen gateras . Incluso después de comunicar que sacasen los animales no hicieron caso y seguían volviendo a darles comida sin importarles que hubiese inquilinos con alergias graves.

This is a great property for larger groups with plenty of space indoors and out to have fun as a group, and some great little hideaways to find some peace and quiet. The villa is well equipped and perhaps the biggest advantage is the number of bathrooms, which for our group was ideal. The property is very well managed, from booking all the way through to check out the communication and response was excellent. The property was very thoroughly cleaned prior to handover. Location is good in a quiet cul de sac but you can access all Puerto Banus has to offer within a 15-20 min walk. It comes highly recommended.

Huset med de romslige soverom og 5 bad fungerte helt utmerket til vårt reisefølge med 11 personer ( derav 4 barn) Huset var bra rengjort og alt fungerte som det skulle. Bassengpumpen røk og ble reparert samme dag. Stedet kan bare videre anbefales.

Most Excellent Extended Family Holiday!
MaryLou was our first impression of this holiday villa, as, even though we were not able to arrive until 1.00 am, she was waiting for us with a welcome smile (and welcome pack) to explain everything and hand over keys etcetera. This sums up the care and attention that has been given to this villa as a holiday home. Thank you, MaryLou.
The villa is well proportioned, airy, clean and well kept. It is set in a quiet cul-de-sac within walkable distance of cafes, restaurants and food shops. Only Great- Grandma (G-G), 87 years but active, found the steepness of the hill out of the street too much of a challenge in the hottest part of the day in August. Not a problem to pop up in the Fiat. We were able to park a large people carrier and a small Fiat inside the gate.
This was an excellent base for us all to split up or stay together to visit Gibraltar, Ronda, The Roman Oasis and local beaches and ports. The file in the villa is an excellent guide to suitable restaurants and venues. MaryLou popped in mid week and gave us excellent recommendations for specific things that we wanted to do.
Every one of us found the bedrooms comfortable with enough choice for us to put the Aged Parents (APs) in the bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a veranda; G-G in a twin room with Juliet balcony and adjoining bathroom; parents and two children in two bedrooms with a shared bathroom; and the young couple chose the cottage.
The kitchen was stocked with all necessary equipment (we now intend to buy a coffee machine like this!) but we thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ area, the hammocks, the sunbeds, and the table tennis. The living room was full of comfy chairs, TV and dining area plus books, books, books - great for a little extra holiday reading.
Most of all, we will remember the sunny afternoons in and around the pool where G-G could do the crossword while APs and Ps relaxed and youngsters dived, swam, jumped and lazed in the water.
We don't usually return to the same place for our extended family holidays but Casa Salamandra is definitely the exception. We were asked to say how the villa could be improved and all we could think of was: stronger WiFi (not possible). And seriously, if that's all that's left for us to wish for in a holiday villa, then perhaps we should consider if we are really in holiday mode!

Casa Salamandra
We had a fabulous family holiday at Casa Salamandra, the children loved the pool and the adults enjoyed their ongoing table tennis tournament. The accommodation was perfect for all the family we particularly enjoyed the terrace where we ate all our al fresco meals, but we didn't enjoy the mosquitoes although they enjoyed us!! Nicely situated villa with easy access to supermarkets, restaurants, etc and pleasant walk to port. We enjoyed the ferry 8 euros and 30 minutes to Marbella where food and drink is much cheaper than Puerto Banus.
Marylou was very helpful when meeting us at Villa, all communication with regards to booking the accommodation was dealt with very efficiently. We would not hesitate in booking Casa Salamandra again, wonderful holiday.

Perfect for a three generational family holiday
We found the villa as expected in a great location at end of cul de sac, but convenient for access to beach and shops. Very quiet and un-overlooked.The villa was clean and well equipped, except that the beds only had one, rather thin, pillow on each bed and only 2 tea towels. We would have liked spare towels but managed by washing those we had provided. The kitchen was a little tired and in need of updating. The pool and gardens were well maintained with regular visits by staff. It worked very well that the grandparents made use of the cottage in the garden, while the rest of the family (9 people, aged 13 to 47) used the house. We all loved the garden hammocks and there was an ongoing table tennis tournament all week! We had hired 3 cars between us and did some sightseeing around the immediate area. MaryLou met us on arrival and was very helpful and efficient.
I would recommended this villa to others wanting a family holiday.

A wonderful week
There were nine of us staying at Casa Salamandra to celebrate the end of our exams. The villa had everything you could possibly need, and the pool and barbecue were especially useful. There are two supermarkets only a five minute walk away and it was an easy walk to the harbour. Marylou made everything very easy on arrival and departure, and was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here, we had a wonderful time!

The older ones could walk to and home from the night club Aqwa mist and Puerto Banus. Shopping is easy at the nearby supermarket and there are plenty of restaurants to walk to. An excellent week
Just got back from a week's stay at Casa Salamandra. It was ideally situated far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but by no means isolated - just a 10 minute walk to the town and 15 minutes to the beach. The facilities were in good working order, everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed to make self-catering easy. The agent was friendly and made sure we settled in quickly, giving us a guided tour of the villa upon our arrival. I would definitely recommend a stay at Casa Salamandra to everyone.

You wont be disappointed!!
Booked this villa for a group of 7 ladies (age 40) & it was perfect!! Plenty of space, well equipt kitchen & the pool & outside area were well used!! It was within easy walking distance of 'the' Puerto Banus strip (approx 15mins) and even closer were supermarkets, cafe bars & restaurants. The villa itself was tucked away in a very quiet cul-de-sac (bit of a hill leading from villa up to the shops etc) so never any noise!
The lady who looks after villa is really friendly & nothing too much trouble!! Only a phone call away if you need anything!!
I would definately consider returning...easy to get to from Malaga airport, just hopped on a bus outside to Marbella, then a short taxi ride to villa....enjoy! :-)

I'll be back...
Our party consisted of ten 18 year olds. We were all from England and since we had just finished our exams we had the intention of testing the night life of Spain. This review will probably lean towards the more practical nature of the villa and the ability to do things on a tight budget!
There were two good and relatively cheap supermarkets within easy walking distance with enough previsions to keep anyone happy!
The walk to the beaches and nightlife was a little long - about 20 minutes but do-able. The odd time we got taxi's we found them to be reasonably good value. The actual beaches are nice but busy. The amount of fake sunglasses and watches on sale is staggering! We found one street absolutely packed with bars and clubs which kept us amused for our 10 day holiday. We were lucky enough to see Spain beat the Netherlands in the World Cup Final which proved to be an entertaining evening to say the least! So if you are looking for a party, you will find it - not to say that the area isn't family friendly, it is, but not after 3am. The immediate area around the villa though, is very quiet, tame and relaxing.
As 18 year olds go we eat exceedingly well. Although the kitchen is smallish, it catered for our every need. There is a massive fridge which was very useful when it came to storing beer! We had BBQ's for about half the time and the kitchen was able to cope with the industrial size quantities of food we made for ourselves.
The pool is very nice. It is well maintained by a pleasant gardener who we saw once very very early in the morning and it's always kept at a nice temperature.
The bedrooms were clean and very luxurious - snazzy bathrooms, powerful showers, lots of space. There was incredibly effective air conditioning in every room of the house.
The representative for the house was very easy going and kind. If we had the slightest of worries she would be at the door within minutes to sort it out. She was an excellent bonus to a perfect holiday villa. I would recommend this place without hesitation to anyone.

Summer hols
Had an 8 day stay in August 2010, daughter and boy friend bagged the cottage which is really fab and has gorgeous walk in double shower cubicle! The master bedroom upstairs is fabulous with lovely terrace. Special mention too to basement bedroom which is great for kids as has big play house in it and various toys and books. Kitchen well equipped and even this had air con! All bedrooms had aircon which was a real bonus as the nights were so warm! We were a little surprised that there was no high chair as we had assumed this would be there, I telephoned Marylou on Sat afternoon about this and the following day, yes on Sunday, she had found a hire company in Marbella that delivered a lovely high chair for 20 euros for the week. Excellent service! Do ask before you go if you do need one!
The villa was very clean and we got the Brit tv stations on sky (including cbeebies if you have young ones) fine once we mastered the remotes! There were 9 of us with two younger ones aged 2 and 4 years and there were plenty of spaces to spread out! Swimming pool is fab and is cleaned on daily basis first thing in the morning unobtrusively.It is not actually fenced off as appears in the photos as there are 3 ways off the patio but we used furniture to limit the way off the patio to just one for the sake of our 2 year old which worked well.
Another unexpected bonus was the avocado tree in the garden which provided us with many avocados which dropped off the tree at various intervals during the week and were the best tasting avocados we had ever eaten! A slight concern was that if one of the kids had happened to be wandering past when the fruit dropped this may have caused injury as these are big avocados but fortunately never happened.There were quite a lot of wasps on the lawned areas but only a minor pain.
The location of the villa is great and we purposefully did not hire a car and could walk to supermarket in 10 mins but there is a steep hill on way out of cul de sac. The Pasta Cafe is just near the end of the street and is good value, there are other restaurants/bars within easy walking distance and it only costs 5-7 euros to get taxi to centre of puerto banus, taxi phone number is in info pack at villa. Having been to Puerto Banus before we did not go to beach this time but stayed in villa and had marvellously relaxing week! The exception was to have paella at excellent San Pedro beach restarant at end of Viilamarina.Would love to return and recommend highly

Casa Salamandra
We recently visited Casa Salamandra and had a fabulous time. The villa, pool and gardens are all superb and we could not have wished for more. Our large group of 6 adults 6 children and 1 baby were all comfortably accommodated and the pool and garden were the perfect size to keep all children (and adults) amused all day.
Nearby restaurants are lovely and just a stroll up the road, the marina is equally as nice and just a short 15 min walk away. The beach is large and again just 15 mins away or about 4 euros in a taxi.
We had a fantastic time and the owner could not have been more helpful. I would highly recommend this villa.

10 wonderful days at casa salamandra
we are just back from staying in the beautiful Casa Salamandra. We were a group of 12 girls and we had a fantastic time. The villa had everything we could possibly want and was extremely well situated, only short walk from the heart of Puerto Banus. There was plenty of space for everyone and the owners were always so friendly and helpful if we ever has a problem.I would really recommend this beautiful house to anyone, it was everything you could possibly want for a relaxing holiday under the sun!

Girls on Tour
It was my friends 50th birthday and 9 of us stayed at the villa. The villa was perfect and we bearly left the villa during our 6 day stay. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook for a large group and we used the BBQ too. We were met on arrival despite arriving very late and check out was easy too. We didnt spend much time in the villa other than to sleep. The shower pressures were excellent and we never ran out of hot water despite having 9 woman in the place. The outside area is very good for seating and sun bathing. There are some shady areas at the bottom of the garden. The villa is very secure which the locking gates. We will definitely go again.

True villa experience in excellent location
We were met with a visual delight, with cascades of bougainvillea at the entrance. The delight persisted throughout our stay. It really was what we imagined a spanish vlilla to be. This well maintained property is clearly the object of the owner's care and attention. A quiet safe location, we could relax while our 3 and 8 year old boys ran through the garden and enjoyed the fenced pool. When we were not BBQing in the garden the fully equipped kitchen was good for preparing meals from food purchased at the supermarket a short stroll away. We used a car to drive down to the beach nearby with all the family clutter, but there is a bus and we often walked. At night when we could use a babysitter, my wife and I would eat in the town and stroll up the the villa through the quiet neighborhood - tipsy but safe.
The only problem we faced was the day we arrived the pool seemed to be gurgling strangely: Upon close examination of the filter system we found an old pair of shorts that seemed to have caught itself there. We laughed at the stories this provided us and our children during our stay.
An acceptable oversight for such a wonderful location.
We will book again.

A superb peaceful haven
We were a group of 4 adults and 6 children ages 4 to 10 staying at Casa Salamandra. We loved the light, airy feel of the villa and all the different terraces and hidden corners of the garden so we never felt on top of one another, and you could always find a quiet place to read or sunbathe in peace. The children were delighted with the toys, playhouses and gardens to run around in, which was safely walled and private, and also the pool where they spent most of the day. The kitchen was great, well equipped and no problem to feed 10 people. It overlooks the pool so you can keep an eye on the kids while making meals. There is a supermarket close by which made shopping easy, and lots of restaurants a short stroll away. Very relaxing. Everybody was welcoming and helpful and there was a file of useful information, maps, places to see etc.
The only problem was the automatic watering coming on at the wrong time and soaking the sunbathers! The friendly gardener sorted it out.
Highly recommended. We will come again!

Brilliant Time!
We were a family group of eight adults & two children and we had the best time August 9 - 16 2008. The villa was as described, the pool well maintained and plenty of places to sit either in sun or shade. The air conditioning a god send in August! The basement room was equipped with loads of toys which kept the children amused, and all the bedrooms and bathrooms very clean. The beach was a bit of a trek with small children but a taxi back was only Euros6. A few good restaurants close to hand but we stayed around the villa most of the time and used the BBQ. The owner was extremely helpful and organsied our taxi transfer and all questions were answered quickly and clear instructions given. A local was to hand should there be problems. Would certainly recommend for a large group. Very quiet location away from the manic Puerto Banus centre but within walking distance for those who wanted to partake!
