About this house rental
Experience the best of west coast living and lovely ocean views from this sunny custom built 2400sf, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home situated on a beautiful landscaped corner lot in a quiet and private neighbourhood. The house is directly across from a pretty beach access to a secluded bay. Enjoy the use of our complimentary kayaks and hot tub.
New for summer 2024. Six modern Adirondack chairs surround a gas fire pit in a newly landscaped part of the front garden. Enjoy a flickering fire under the stars with views of the ocean.
***As well as the excellent location, layout, design and amenities, the Annex is one of the few vacation homes with a 2024 short term rental license in Sechelt since the District and Province brought in new stricter STR rules****.
The lofted open plan is decorated with a tasteful mix of antiques, art and contemporary furnishings to offer comfortable spaces for both gathering or seclusion. The kitchen offers plenty of space for the serious chef along with some herbs, veggies or fresh flowers from the seasonal gardens.
Comfy beds with natural linens and duvets ensure you'll sleep well. Additional features include 50"TV, second TV in loft, TV in bedroom, high speed WiFi, and various work desks with a view either in the great room or loft
Sargeant Bay Provincial Park with a bird sanctuary and sandy beach at low tide is only 1.5km away. The upland portions of the park are riddled with trails for both mountain biking and hiking or get your thrills from the Coast Gravity Park or other trails up and down the Coast. Plenty of covered locked garage space for all your toys and gear. Parking for your RV or boat trailer too.
Aside from more active pursuits, there are aboriginal tours, golf, art galleries, restaurants or simply relaxing at the Annex with BBQ, lovely gardens, hummingbirds, large windows, hot tub or a cosy wood stove in winter. A fenced yard and deck along with the proximity to nature make the property perfect for dogs and children and a lovely place to chill with friends and family. Wifi and a large screen TV keep you connected while you're holidaying.
This is a very peaceful neighbourhood so we ask that you respect that by being as quiet as you can when outside especially when enjoying the hot tub (between 9AM and 9PM). This is not a party house.
The house is very central to all that the Sunshine Coast offers. Eight minutes from Sechelt, 35 minutes from the ferry, 30 minutes from Gibsons, 30 minutes to Madeira Park and Pender harbour as well as 50 minutes to the world famous Skookumchuk Rapids trailhead.
We are happy to use our local knowledge to help you plan a memorable itinerary tailored to your interests. Massage and chef services can usually be arranged with adequate notice.

The place is awesome. Lot’s of luxurious space with modern conveniences and extras.
Our only disappointment is the beach access. This is steep as advertised, but a bit of difficult trek after a recent knee replacement.

The property is nice and the yard is very well maintained, the view from the hot tub is great. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The bedrooms were spacious and the layout was great. We were 6 adults and 2 dogs and we had plenty of space. There were a couple of issues during our stay but the owner was quick to respond when I reached out. We did feel like the cleanliness could have been better.
The walk down to the beach is quite steep and the path needs some maintenance but it’s a very short trip to get down there. The beach is very rocky so not great for dogs but there are a number of trails and beach access points close by.

It was a beautiful property, clean with an amazing view and location. It had everything we needed. The enclosed back yard was perfect for our dogs and the hot tub had Ana amazing view over the water. The only thing was that the bed in the master bedroom was uncomfortable and the mattress needs to be replaced.

We very much enjoyed staying here for our 4 day trip with family. The house was very spacious and beds were really comfortable. We enjoyed the enormous deck and the hot tub. The master bathroom was especially large. Heather was a great host and was helpful with my questions. She provided us with an infant life vest for my 2 yr old. We did make the trek down to Cardiac beach and used the kayaks, but I would let others know - it is steep and challenging with young kids or older adults. When we went the tide was out, so it was pretty hard to carry the kayaks out to the water - the large rocks are not easy to walk on. Even the when the tide was in, you need to be careful how you step in the shallow sandy pool - it's like quicksand and I sank in to my knees. overall, we had a fabulous time and love that part of BC.

The house is spacious, beautifully furnished and very well equipped. It provided us with plenty of room for preparing for our daughter’s wedding at Welcome Beach and gave us a very comfortable few days’ stay.

The house was wonderfully clean and decorated for the holidays, which was perfect for our groups stay over the new year. There is plenty of space to spread out for lounging, or to spend time together cooking/eating in the fully stocked kitchen. All of the bedrooms had very comfortable beds and ample space; there was plenty of room for two couples and a friend to stay (as well as a dog!). Bathrooms were very clean and had soap, shampoo/conditioner, etc. We made good use of the hot tub (which has an excellent view of the water), the wood stove, and the gated patio and yard is a bonus for furry friends. The house is very easy to find, with great parking options. It was really a perfectly maintained property, and communication with the hosts was a breeze - would 10/10 stay here again and recommend it to families, groups, or couples. Great spot!

We went with friends and we all loved it.
The place is beautiful, so clean, spacious and stocked with everything you could need. We even got to harvest some veggies and herbs from the garden.
Everything was amazing.
Our only exception would be that apparently we were too loud in the hot tub. As four mature adults chatting quietly at 4 pm, we were still too loud for the neighbors! Of course this is not the owners fault. But if you tend to be loud or want to be up late talking in the hot tub, this place might not be the option for you.

The location was excellent and put us close to anything we wanted to do on the Sunshine Coast.
The property was spotlessly clean, and a big enough space for 4 adults and one teenager. The air conditioning was spectacular, just what is needed during a heat wave. Huge fully stocked kitchen, which we barely used.
I don't think I've ever seen a larger master bedroom anywhere, it is literally the size of my son's entire condo. And the ensuite shower could probably fit 5-7 people. or more :)
Lots of local information provided onsite, including maps and guidebooks.

The annex was perfect for our group of 6. Bright, spacious, and had all the tools for fun meals in or outside. Hot tub was a nice touch we enjoyed. We hope to be back!

New Years 2021
We had a fantastic time at this amazing property! We were a family of 5 adults and loved that there was so much space for all of us to either spend time together playing games or snuggle up someplace quiet and read books. The house was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked for all your needs. The hot tub and fireplace were welcome additions as the snow piled up outside. It was also such a nice bonus to be pet friendly; there is a big fenced yard and deck where we could let him run around and play with us in the snow. Bob and Heather were easy to connect with and quickly responded to our queries. This will be our new favourite place on the Sunshine Coast, and we look forward to staying here again in the summer! I Thanks for sharing your lovely home Heather, we will be back!

Exceeded expectations
This was my second visit to one of the Pointhouse properties. The first was as a guest of friends and this time with three girlfriends. All of the suites are extremely well appointed, particularly the kitchens. The beds are super comfy and luxurious, the decor tasteful and the hosts responsive to the couple of questions we had. Highly recommended.

Amazing Space!
Our stay at this property was fantastic! What isn't shown in the photos is the ocean view which can also be seen from the hot tub. The house is massive and the master bedroom feels like you have your own huge hotel suite. The trail down to the beach is so vibrant and lush and you arrive at your own beach at the end (Rocky but secluded). We would highly recommend anyone stay here if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.

Lovely quiet week
My family had a wonderful time at this property. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation and that's exactly what we got. The hot tub was great and the house had everything we needed. The kitchen and dining area were well appointed and the view was beautiful. We took advantage of the opportunity for lots of hikes and walks only a short drive away. We also enjoyed swimming in nearby Sargeant Bay. Thank you for a wonderful week away!

Spacious relaxing retreat
5 of us stayed at the Annex for almost two weeks in July. It was fantastic, exceeding our expectations. First of all, the location is great. It’s quiet, being off the main highway, has some lovely views of the Salish Sea, and yet is just a 10-15 minute drive to Sechelt and a 5 minute one to Welcome Woods where I enjoyed the many quiet walking trails with our doggo and we met many friendly locals.
There was so much space in the house as well as outside for us to all be together comfortably, or get away for personal time. For part of each day, we used the upstairs living area with our daughter, allowing my parents some privacy in the downstairs living room. The house is so well cared for and decorated with lovely artwork and some personal furnishing which adds character. We were very comfortable sleeping, sitting, lounging ( I appreciated the deck lounge chairs as many rentals we’ve stayed at haven’t included those, just chairs for sitting.) The main floor bedroom and ensuite were perfect for my 80+ year old parents as they didn’t have to climb stairs and yet allowed them privacy too.The kitchen is very well equipped. It had everything we needed for preparing food. The one small thing I found lacking were plastic containers for storing left-overs. I could not find any, which we seem to always need. Would be good to add some to the kitchen. A few of the light switches on the stairs to the top floor didn’t work for us, but this was ok as they were not essential lights for us but would be good to remedy.
The large, fully fenced backyard and huge deck were perfect for our young doggo. I felt at ease knowing she had room to roam, be in sun or shade and was contained and safe. We also enjoyed both the deck (when it was cooler) and the backyard, including picking some of the salad greens from the veggie patch. The garden has a variety of plants and is well cared for adding to the beauty of the outside spaces. In the early evenings, the hot tub was a welcome treat for all of us. The public access trail across the road that takes you down to the beach is definitely well named as “Cardiac Beach”. Lots of exposed roots and steep stairs, so not accessible for some but a good workout for others. We loved the beach at Sargeant Bay Provincial Park at low tide: pure sand in the bay (rocky mostly on the beach) calm water, great for small kids to dig near shore and swim.
We’d love to return at some point with other friends to this relaxing, retreat !

June on the Sunshine Coast.
We had a wonderful experience at this property. Lots of space with a great kitchen. House set in a very quiet area. Great hot tub! Lots to do and we really appreciated the kayaks and a lovely bay to snorkel in. It’s a wonderful place to escape to and definitely on our list of places to return to.

A Peaceful Coastal Escape
The Annex is a gorgeous, expansive space, beautifully decorated with a well-appointed kitchen. The water and lush garden views - from every room in the house - were incredibly serene. We particularly enjoyed wrapping up each day with a relaxing hot tub. If you're looking for some R+R and outdoor adventure, look no further. The Annex is a stunning property in an ideal location to explore all that the Sunshine Coast has to offer. We look forward to our next visit!

Perfect getaway
Beautiful place close to everything we needed and what we wanted to do! The beach is beautiful and we enjoyed 2 gorgeous sunsets on the beach before trekking up the “cardiac” hill back! The house is well stocked and had everything we needed - we loved our family time together and would definitely come again!

Looking forward to returning!
This is an absolutely wonderful property. It has everything one could ask for: excellent location, ocean view (we watched porpoises or dolphins in the bay from the dining table!), hot tub, wood stove, well-appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of space. It was the perfect local get-away for our family over the holidays. I recommend it without reservation to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable, easy stay!

Get Away
We were very impressed by the house and surrounding property. The open concept kitchen and living room was very conducive to dinner parties. The bedroom set-up meant couples could have private space while also joining together for fun times.
Heather was very accessible to questions and flexible regarding the check out time.
We all agreed we would stay again.

Mid-Luxury
The pictures do not do this rental justice, it is absolutely stunning with a nice view and yard space. The interior feels very large and airy with nice décor throughout (I would be nervous about children but it might be tougher than it looks). The path down to the water is steep (but short) and having a "personal" beach and access to kayaks in a safe little inlet was an added bonus.
There were just a few things that take away from the rental. There is contactless check-in however soon after arrival the owner "popped by" without warning (and no mask), the owner also seems to watch the place. There is another suite attached to the garage (this is not mentioned anywhere and it does look into the backyard which could take away the feeling of privacy). There is an alarm system with motion detection that causes the main box to chirp frequently (and no instructions on how to turn it off).
Lots of information in a welcome book with hikes etc. however it does warn about taking care of the wood furniture and not letting drinks ruin them but no coasters are provided (we had to put placemats down everywhere which was a little weird). The kitchen is fully equipped for any kind of cooking, but do note that the knives have seen better days and really do not stand up to any real cutting that is required. The oven locked itself shut a few times during our stay (no instructions on this so we had to Google how to fix it...seems like a common problem for this make and model so instructions in the welcome book might be warranted). We travelled in the early fall and encountered some cool weather, the heat to the house has a max upper limit set so we decided to have a fire to take the chill out, only downside was that there was no paper or lighter to start the fire (wood was provided which is nice).
The hot tub was great to have however there is a quiet time due to the neighbors, it would have been nice to have a soak after work/before bed. The temperature also dropped as our time went on (down to 90) even though we followed the instructions on use (again we ended up Googling the make/model in order to have it be hot again).
Overall it is an outstanding rental in a quiet area that has easy access to town, trails and the water. I would recommend it as a quiet home base for travel on the sunshine coast.

Awesome house but very stricts rules and poor owner communication
we were 6 friends staying at the beautiful house. The location is great and ameneties are great.
However we had a bad experience because of the owner.
The ad says "enjoy our outdoor deck surrounded by nature" so we did. We were chilling on the patio, talking as normal people and we received a rude text message (no hello, no thanks) saying:"time to wrap up and go inside". The argument was we were too noisy. We were talking with a little bit of music. We assume owner have deeper issues with neighboors that were beyond our control.
Be ready to have a unplanned visit from the owner on first morning at 10 to talk about house rules and how neighboors are sensitive.
To sum up: you will enjoy the house only if you stay inside during evening.

We were 4 adults. 2 Mums and 2 adult kids. The house is truly well outfitted. Everything you’d want in a kitchen to make lovely meals including a cake was available! The hot tub was spectacular.
