Mooie ruime kamer, goed ontbijt en goed restaurant
De receptioniste mag wel wat meer lachen, kwam niet echt vriendelijk over. De overige medewerkers waren prima!

Location is great, rooms are stylish, breakfast is tasty and with a good choice
We booked a suite which explicitly said in the room description and in the booking confirmation that has “1 double bed, 1 sofa bed” but our room didn’t have a sofa bed. The staff claimed is was not their problem but referred to booking.com, which in my view is not right. We had to bring an air mattress for our kid - and yet we’re charged 10€ for blanket ant pillow.
We like the hotel and like the location but that service level was a bit disappointing, to be very honest. Hope our next stay, which will come for sure, will be better. Thanks

Centrally located hotel; lovely breakfast. Evidently there are the larger, nicer rooms in the Alte Schule and the "basic" rooms across the street, which we inadvertently got. However, these older rooms had good pillows, good water pressure, and looked out onto the park (Schloss park) and reminded me of Mullers (what this hotel used to be - now a Chinese restaurant) 30 years ago. Walls quite thin in the basic hotel.
The check-in clerk, Melanie, was NOT AT ALL NICE. I could use another word easily. She understood English just fine, but never smiled, never acknowledged us except with terse, curt words. Husband and I were shocked. She was so bad I actually came back and told her that she needs to improve her skills. Am sure she knows her job, but has the personality of an angry rock. Christina had her first day and couldn't be nicer. She was a gem - Melanie actually ruined our stay bc we kept thinking of how nasty she was.

the restaurant staff was very friendly.
We’ve had the worst stay ever. My boyfriend and I booked a room for four nights to celebrate Newyear, which is also our anniversary. When we booked the room (three months in advance), we received an email asking if we would like to have the Newyear’s Eve menu in the hotel’s restaurant. We answered the next day saying that we would indeed like the NYE menu.
When we arrived there was a tall woman with glasses at the reception who was extremely unfriendly. When I said I didn’t speak German she didn’t even bother to speak more slowly or use gestures, she just kept on going expecting me to understand. Definitely not trying whatsoever to reply in English.
She then told us where our room was. It was in this depressing building on the other side of the street. So no, the building you see in the pictures is just the restaurant, the actual hotel is horrible and looks like a roadside Motel you see in America.
The second day I ask the super unfriendly reception woman when the NYE menu starts. She then suddenly understands and speaks basic English and tells us we don’t have the menu. It was already fully booked when they sent us the email asking if we were interested in the menu. They just didn’t care and didn’t feel like they should have answered our mail saying we wouldn’t be able to get the menu.
The reception woman did NOT want to help us, she didn’t even try to offer a solution (or let alone a compensation) and just said we had to figure it out on our own. One day before NYE. Every single restaurant was fully booked for the next night and so we had to eat at some horrible chinese buffet restaurant for our eight year anniversary.
The only positive thing I can say is that the rest of the staff (at breakfast) were very friendly and welcoming. But the tall woman at reception should NOT work in hospitality. During our four day stay she didn’t even managed to smile ONCE. Not to us or any other customer. A disgrace. Will NEVER come back.

very clean, renovated nicely and in a great location
The only aspect of the stay that wasn’t perfect was the breakfast. Had to ask to refill scrambled eggs twice as nothing there when I went to help myself. They also didn’t replenish cold meat platter without me asking. Choice was good but maybe there need be more people serving, i.e.
looking after buffet. Only two members of staff serving and overlooking buffet.

The hotel is placed in the city center, close to the castle, train station as well as the local trails. The breakfast had a wide variety of foods, though almost no vegan options. The staff was extremely helpful! The room was small but very cozy.
No proper vegan options for breakfast and the price was a bit too high.
