About this house rental
This house is a large and well equipped Victorian town house arranged over four floors. We renovated the property in 2013 and this included new bathrooms, kitchen, heating, decoration etc.
We hope the pictures give a flavour of the high standard to which the the property has been renovated.
The house sleeps up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms. However the house is arranged so that it is also possible to be used as 2 fully separate units:
Firstly, a 4 bedroom house with 2 ensuite shower rooms a family bathroom and further shower room and cloakroom. The house also enjoys a large dining room opening into a modern kitchen, a large and elegant first floor sitting room (with covered verandah and sea views) and a separate family TV and games room, which opens out to the rear garden.
Secondly, a 2 bedroom apartment, complete with 2 ensuite shower rooms, a large open plan sitting room/kitchen and a small self contained rear courtyard.
There is an full internal staircase which links the house when used as a whole but which can be locked off top and bottom when the apartment is not rented with the main house.
As well as a generous first floor living room, there is a well appointed kitchen leading into the dining room. There is also a ground floor play room and a door leads out from this room into the garden.

The house has been furnished to a very high standard and is large and spacious, able to sleep up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms. It is designed to appeal to:
*Large family groups or extended families

*Groups of friends wanting a spacious house to share
It is not suitable for stag/hen weekends or for groups under the age of 25.
Practicalities
Please note that the property is laid out over 4 floors with the sitting room on the 1st floor.
There are steps up to both the front door and down to the door to the lower ground floor apartment
The house is well equipped for children of all ages and there are two travel cots to use during your stay. In addition, there is a highchair, booster seats and toys suitable for toddlers, which means that you don’t need to completely fill the car with babies’ or children’s bits and pieces!
For older children, there are games and puzzles as well as a separate ground floor family room equipped with large flat screen TV, video and games console. The room is tucked away at the rear of the house and has its own access into the rear garden
Living Space
Main Living room - This high ceilinged sitting room is at the front of the house, on the first floor. It is a bright and spacious room with superb sea views and French doors leading to the verandah. It is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs providing a relaxing place to unwind.
The room also has the benefit of a large screen TV, DVD player, and hifi system with Ipod dock.
Family Room - There is also a separate family room on the ground floor which comes equipped with large flat screen TV, video player, games console and sofa. There is also a table football and surround sound hifi system with ipod dock
Kitchen & Dining
For many, one of the main hearts of a house is the kitchen. This is certainly so at the Sea View House, with the spacious modern kitchen providing the hub and connecting to the equally spacious dining room through large double doors. The kitchen is well equipped and includes:
Gaggia automatic espresso coffee machine
Food processor, toaster and kettle
Microwave oven
Large American style fridge freezer with automatic ice maker and separate wine & beer compartment
There is also a plentiful supply of pots pans utensils bowls etc to ensure that you really can cook almost anything during your stay.
Outside there is an outdoor table and chairs to ensure that you can make the most of warm and balmy days on the coast.
Adjoining the kitchen and accessed via interconnecting double doors is the dining room. This room has a large modern table which seats 12 people comfortably. There is also sufficient crockery cutlery serving dishes and glasses to accommodate even the largest groups
Kids & Equipment
With 3 children of our own, we know how stressful holidays can become if the children’s requirements are not met. We also know how difficult it can be to travel with everything needed, particularly for toddlers and babies.
That’s why we have tried to include a variety of things to make your stay easy. As well as the well equipped family room, you will also find (if you need them):
2 X travel cots
2 x High chairs
Cancellation policy:
Our cancellation policy is based on fairness and we do not seek to benefit from anyone's misfortune but we have to protect our income and be able to pay our costs. The VRBO policies are too prescriptive for a large home and so we operate our own policy.
We recommend that those booking take out a UK based travel insurance policy.
Within 8 weeks of stay - up to 90% will be refunded if the nights are resold. In the event of a pandemic style lockdown then the stay will be rescheduled.
Over 8 weeks notice - loss of deposit paid (30% of holiday costs). If the nights are resold then 90% of the deposit would be returned too.

We were a group of 7 staying for 2 nights. Property was super clean, really warm and comfortable and had everything we needed for an excellent stay. Jacqui was a great host and very accommodating and responsive to questions. Location is good, right the seafront and walking distance into town. Highly recommend

This is the second visit to this property with my family - it didn’t disappoint the first time and it didn’t disappoint this time - spotlessly clean etc
If I had one tiny criticism it would be the step from the first bedroom to be more defined as one our party misjudged the step due to this otherwise I am so glad I discovered

We had a lovely stay at Jacqui’s house. The photos don’t do it justice - there’s loads of space; amazing views (sunset both evenings) and a great kitchen/dining area - all of which immaculately clean. We found parking easy on the street near the house.
The location is perfect - it’s less than a mile to the centre of the Old Town - our 80 year old granny walked it there and back easily. Also, the crazy golf near the house is definitely worth a go - it was great fun to play on our last morning.
We would highly recommend this house and a trip to Margate and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Beautiful accomodation
Within very easy walking distance of town, no parking restrictions.
Beautiful sea view
Wonderfully equipped with high quality appliances and beautifully furnished.
Tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and nibbles provided by host and cupboards stocked with tomato sauce etc left by previous guests.
2nd time we ve stayed here.
Only downside is that the bedrooms in the basement are a bit dark - but can't have everything.
Would highly recommend

A perfect spot for some R and R
We were a party of 7 but the house could comfortably hold the listed 12. A beautiful, spacious, comfortable home which is very well equipped and a perfect base from which to explore Margate. The road is quiet with on street parking available. The views out to sea from the terrace in the main lounge are beautiful. Entry is by keypad which is most convenient for larger parties. Highly recommended

Great house for extended family group
This house is in a great location overlooking the sea. It is easily big enough for 12, has plenty of bathrooms with ample hot water and despite its size was warm and cosy in late October. Welcome milk and tea bags etc were much appreciated and the house has pretty much everything you need for a week's stay including comfy beds and a beer fridge.

30 years (plus due to Covid rearranging!) friendship
This was a perfect house for the eight of us to gather and celebrate our friendship (met when we had our first child) - plenty around to do or space to just chill and chat at the house if we preferred (or the weather had been bad)

Spacious Property a Stone's Throw from the Beach
An excellent property for a bigger than average group - the door code instead of a key meant we could all come and go as we pleased and there were plenty of loos and showers to go around! The views from the master bedroom, lounge and dining room over the sea were just wonderful. Grocery stores, the railway station and cafes and restaurants were all within easy walking distance.

Whitson week in Margate
The house and location was perfect and the owner was lovely to deal with.
Watching the sun setting in the sea from the balcony with a G&T with tired out children after a day in the beach was bliss.
I'd thoroughly recommend a stay.

Excellent Base for a stay in Thanet
When you have a break at the seaside in November for a family of 8+ (different generations) you need a good base as you will always get an element of inclement weather.
This was a superb base in a first-class Victorian terraced house stretching over 4 floors.
The house itself has a wealth of generous-sized bedrooms and all floors (apart from the top-floor) has a lounge area or dining area. The kitchen is sleek, modern and very well equipped with good quality appliances and utensils. The decor is in keeping with the age of the house, stylish, homely and inviting .Keeping the best to last is the breathtaking view of the sea from all the front windows.

A great reunion weekend
We are a group of old friends who meet every year in different locations and this year's meet in Margate was a real success. Everyone loved the house and the location: it was within walking distance of all the attractions in Margate and we could easily have spent the whole weekend exploring them, although we did also travel further afield. We never had any problem finding parking spaces on the street outside. The house is incredibly well-equipped and just about everything we could have thought of was provided: we appreciated the welcome bag of essentials as well. The view from the living room and the top bedroom is spectacular and we enjoyed watching the sunsets and the sea views. We definitely hope to make a return visit before too long.

Perfect for a family gathering
We we’re a party of ten, including two families of four. This house accommodated us with a bedroom to spare. There were nearly as many bath/shower rooms as bedrooms and the large living- & eating areas made for plenty of social space. The house is furnished and decorated to a high standard and everyone commented on how comfy the beds were! Kitchen was very well equipped for catering larger parties, with plenty of fridge/freezer/wine cooler storage.
Location is great, within a terrace overlooking the sea, with a sandy beach just adjacent. A nice 10 minute walk along the seafront takes you in to Margate beachfront proper. The sea view is visible from the dining room, top floor double bedroom and middle floor living room, which also has the bonus of a balcony.
All the street parking was occupied when we arrived Friday evening, but we unloaded outside as it’s not a busy road and were able to park in streets adjacent, moving cars outside as we spotted spaces coming free.
Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay as a large group and we would love to return.

50th Birthday weekend
Lovely house located overlooking the sea. Ample on street parking while we stayed.
We had the whole house for the duration of our stay which gave us so much room we loved it!
Excellent equipped kitchen in the main house that had lots of plates, pans, glasses etc that were all of high quality.
Would definitely recommend for large groups/families.

Very family friendly house. Very good position. Margate continues to improve, and Thanet is an underrated gem. We will happily return if the circumstances allow.

Great Space
I along with 6 friends spent a great weekend at 8 Sea View Terrace, in celebration of my 50th Birthday. 4/1/19 to 7/1/19
We were able to cook nice meals and then relax in various bits of the house, as there is ample space
It has all the mod con’s you need, including 2 Kitchens and most of the bedrooms are en-suite.
All of my Friends really loved the house and were very comfortable.
The house is a very short walk from the station.
Would definitely stay again.

Perfect holiday home for family and friends
Great house with everything you could possibly need. Perfect location on the seafront. The balcony was a lovely spot for a sunset drink. Close to all the action that Margate has to offer but far enough away that it was very peaceful. We stayed here for a week- six adults and six children. It was such a luxury to have so many bathrooms! We thought that it was really good value for the price and we would happily all stay again.

Fabulous family holiday
This is our second stay in this fabulous house. The superb accommodation allowed three generations to happily holiday together. Excellent location right on the seafront a ten minute walk from Margate. Kids loved crabbing and of course Dreamland. Whilst they were in Dreamland we walked a lot. There are some lovely eateries in Margate especially in the old town. I'm sure that any other week this summer we would have had better weather but it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves. Hopefully we will be back next year.

Ideal family venue
Nine adults and three under fives stayed at No. 8 between Fri.22nd and Fri.29th June for a 70th Birthday. Everybody had a great time and it was the ideal venue for a family gathering. It was better than Xmases as the weather was good and everyone stayed the full week. The dining room and first floor sitting room, with their views of sunsets across the sea were particularly enjoyed. The main kitchen (there is also a kitchenette in the downstairs 'granny' flat) is well equipped and food was easily prepared for family evening meals. There are large supermarkets a short car ride away and a Tesco metro within walking distance. Two wide sandy beaches, one with a tidal pool, are five minutes walk on either side. The local Loop buses provide remarkably frequent access to Broadstairs and Ramsgate.

Perfect family house
