Great staff, perfect location,
there is one major problem and because of that we cancel 7 nights earlier, there was a lot of windows and there is no black out and curtains are almost one feet away from the windows so at 3 am is same light that at 3pm
Imposible to sleep with lights on while on vacation, hope they fix it, once again staff was amazing

room was not soundproof. I could hear speakers of the mosques quite clear.

They use fake advertising. They said they had air conditioning. In fact my booking said triple room with air conditioning. They said they couldn’t change the system over to air conditioning. Their website said they had ac - not we have ac sometimes. Also the shower was missing the knob to switch from handheld to overhead shower. Shower drain did not work.

Size of suit, restaurant food was excellent. Staff helpful.
Some of the towels were old and ragged.

The location was top notch, central square near the old quarter and plenty of restaurants and the main attractions. The rooms are large and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom has all you need, clean and modern. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
The breakfast could be a lot better: cold food (fried eggs, omelette), the toaster was slow for such a large crowd, few pastries and the coffee was truly dreadful. The hotel has a cool retro 70s feel though it’s been fully redone and it hosts large groups, but it’s all ok except the breakfast.

I first stayed in this formerly government-run hotel in 1989 when the rooms were very basic. Someone has recently spent a very large amount of money on it and it is an extremely good quality hotel. I arrived much earlier than expected and a very nice receptionist took pity on me and gave me a suite for the price of a room. (€63) the bed was very comfortable, there was a mini bar in the room and the bathroom boasted a Jacuzzi. I had to leave very early so didn't get a chance to sample breakfast.
It's nitpicking, but the shower pressure could have been better. The suite, although spacious and comfortable, directly faced what I believe to be the biggest mosque in Albania with what appeared to be the most powerful PA system in the Balkans from which there are emanated regular calls to the faithful at very high volume. Entirely pointless, as the population of Shkoder is mainly Roman Catholic.
