Honey Cottage was all we needed and more, plenty of space for our party of 5 adults. The Cottage is well equipped, beds are comfortable and lots of books and games to occupy us. The conservatory was a lovely space to sit in.
Thanks for a wonderful trip which gave us the opportunity to relax and take a trip down memory lane. We hope to be back in the future.

A beautiful period cottage which still has bags of charm and character but modern conveniences too. In a peaceful quiet location with a fully enclosed garden for our dog. Had a great holiday in Hele, local pub and beach in walking distance.Although it was just the 2 of us there is of living space for 6 people. Highly recommended 😊

Plenty of space ..

Lovely cottage. It was spacious with several reception rooms, very good to spread out with teenagers, we all had our favourite spots, but could come together also. We had a mixture of drizzly and very sunny days, this did not bother us as the cottage was so easy to stay in. Lovely garden, convenience of a large garage to park in and a very short stroll to a lovely little cove beach. The beach was ideal for an early dip and also for lazy days soaking up the sun, with a nice little cafe/takeaway for treats. With didn’t eat at the pub but seemed good when we went for a drink, sat in the beer garden with sea views. Also a handy shop in village and many nearby places to visit. We will be back 100%

Lovely cottage Hele Bay
The property is great and in a good location for Hele Bay and its amenities.
The only downside was some of the doors vary in height and with two of us being 6ft it was very easy to forget to duck and bang your head.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Lots of room for all 5 of us even the teenager happy.

A truly wonderful stay at this fabulous house. Very well equipped and lovely comfortable sofas and mattresses. We all loved the spaciousness of the property - always able to find a quiet place away from each other when needed. The house was cosy and warm and the conservatory gave us a nice outside feel even when it was throwing it down with rain!
The location was absolutely perfect - a 3 minute walk to the beach for sunrise swims, to the pub for a meal, to the shop fir essentials. About 20 minutes to walk into Ilfracombe and also the coastal path very easily accessible ( if very steep!). Having the garage to park our people carrier in was just incredible- it’s difficult to park in narrow roads so this made a huge difference to us.
Richard was so helpful and prompt in all his communication with us and had been very thoughtful even leaving fishing nets, body boards etc in the garage for guests to borrow.
Overall, a wonderful stay in an extremely comfortable house in the absolute best of locations. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a very happy stay at Honey cottage. The accommodation exceeded our expectation from the on line photos. The rooms a
are spacious enough for a family or an all adult party to enjoy.
We had marvellous weather for October and the surrounding area has the most spectacular beaches all a short distance away. Honey cottage has parking and an attached garage which made life so easy when loading the car, and a large parking space if your party has 2 cars. The cottage was warm and cosy and had all we needed for a great holiday.
Thank you Richard .

The cottage is a typical Devon building with some charm and character and some quirky oddities. The kitchen is fully functional with all one could want for a holiday. However, with only two small windows, you do need the lights on all the time you are in the kitchen. The large lounge and the equally large second downstairs reception room would be ideal for families. TV/Xbox in one room and reading/games in the other. The bedrooms are a good size with the master being very spacious. The entrance hall to the property has wooden seats and that allows ample room for changing from outdoor footwear into slipper for indoors – great for those wet and muddy days.
Hele Bay is quite near and walkable from the cottage. Ilfracombe is also walkable for moderately fit people but the hills may prove a challenge for those who are not quite so fit – but you are on holiday in North Devon where it is always going to be hilly so just take your time.
This cottage is certainly one that ticks boxes and is recommended as a great place to explore North Devon, take in the coastline, and visit the many harbours and fishing villages.

Very well presented holiday home, comfy master bed. 5-10 min walk to Hele Bay beach, the local Premier supplies store and Hele Bay Pub. A short drive away from many beautiful sandy surf beaches - just what we were looking for with young adult kids in tow. Responsive owners to any queries. Highly recommend.
4.9
Large well equipped quirky cottage. The bedrooms spacious and bright unfortunately the ground floor was dim and chilly due to lack of sunlight because of garden foliage which meant on occasions we had to have the lighting and heating on. However the attached conservatory was nice and light and warm when the sun was out.
Be aware of the differing door heights.
Location of cottage was great for being able to easily get to places of interest. Weather was not great for our stay and obviously influenced some of my earlier comments.

This is a sizeable property in an excellent location. It was a lovely old cottage and perfect in size for 6 adults. There are two lounges and a conservatory which allowed for plenty of space for everyone. The owner was very responsive at all times. Close to Hele Bay which is pretty and close to a pub and craft brewery. Super local walks in the area. A wonderful holiday. Thank you.

Honey Cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing, comfortable stay.
The property is very spacious and the two reception rooms, plus the bright conservatory, meant we could all have our own space; my two teenagers didn’t just hide away in their bedrooms.
The garage was extremely useful, not only fir the car, but also the four bicycles we brought with us.
The kitchen was very well equipped and the kind hosts had even left some biscuits and a bottle of wine for us.
We took our young cat who loved playing in the enclosed garden area and climbing the trees.
The location was ideal; a short stroll to the beach, the pub, a decent small supermarket and the delightful Hele Corn Mill (fabulous cakes). The surrounding area along the coasts and inland was stunning and perfect for walks and bike rides.
Everything was clean and tidy.
I left a few items of clothing behind and the hosts very sweetly arranged for them to be posted to me.
We were able to get some great food delivered from a Caribbean restaurant in Ilfracombe and a Chinese in Combe Martin.
All in all, Honey Cottage was an ideal base for us and we hope we will be able to stay there again.

Lovely spacious cottage in great location
Our party of 4 adults had a wonderful week in Honey Cottage. Excellent location a short walk from Hele Bay, short drive to gorgeous Ilfracombe. A very clean, (hand sanitiser everywhere) well appointed, comfortable cottage with plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing. Weather was kind and we had a lovely time - thank you.

We spent New Years in this lovely cottage and would highly recommend it. Richard the owner was easy to chat to and left us a couple of welcome gifts, lovely gesture. The rooms are a good size and a downstairs bathroom was very useful. The house is linked to the garage which was really handy for getting the dog in the car without worrying about having to put him on the lead. The garden is secure and enclosed which was great, you didn't have to worry about the dog getting out. We loved staying here and would love to come back again one day. Thanks Richard.

Lovely family cottage
We had a lovely half term week in Honey Cottage. The cottage is spacious and we appreciated having an enclosed garden. Bedrooms a good size and good to have the en-suite as well as bathroom and cloakroom. It is a short walk to the pub and Hele Bay beach and we enjoyed walks along the coastal path as well as a couple of days out elsewhere. It was very useful to have the integrated garage as it was heavy rain and winds on the day we left, so packing the car was much easier. Richard, the owner was very helpful and kindly let us know in advance that we could stay later on the last day as the cleaners weren't in that day. This meant we could have a relaxed morning getting organised and packed up as well as avoiding the worst of the weather. A great experience. Thanks.

Lovely stay in Honey Cottage
Thank you Richard for a lovely stay in your cottage. Spent a few days with hubby, son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters not forgetting the two dogs. Very comfortable home, modern bathrooms and good size garden to sit and relax. Thoroughly recommend when visiting North Devon and a short walk to Hele Bay and drive to the coast.

Honey cottage is well located for beach and coast walks with friendly local pub and restaurant close by. Cottage was warm and comfortable with modern bathrooms. Ideal for families as lots of room.

Excellent
A spotlessly clean, very comfortable, spacious cottage, in a lovely quiet location. The garage, with remote control, was a real bonus.
The Hele Bay Pub offers delicious, freshly prepared meals and has really friendly staff.
Richard always responded quickly to emails - great to deal with.

Lovely cottage close to lots of beautiful scenery and places to visit.
We have just had a lovely holiday in this cottage and appreciated the thoughtful touch of the welcome bottle of wine and biscuits. The cottage is equipped with almost everything you could possibly need and is spotlessly clean and tidy. There are loads of lovely places around to visit and many activities to suit everyone. There are a couple of pubs with restaurants within walking distance. The only thing I would suggest is a non slip mat in the shower in the en suite .... I was afraid of slipping so we bought a mat ourselves. Thankyou to the owner who communicated well with us and answered any questions immediately. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our holiday and would recommend it to anyone. The May Family.

Not enough stars available for this property
Just spent Christmas in Honey Cottage. Nanny, Grandad, Mum dad & 13 & 15 year old boys. What a lovely place & so well equipped. We even managed to cook a full Xmas dinner. Lots of space to have quiet time if required. A plus was the WiFi which worked perfectly. Richard did everything possibly to make our stay enjoyable. We were a bit worried being winter that it may have been cold/damp. This was definitely not the case, plenty of heating & hot water and spotlessly clean. Perfect location for so many places. A bit hilly so not suitable for those with walking difficulties, but that is Devon. Can recommend both the Hele Family Pub & Hele Billies great atmosphere in Billies & food is lovely. The pub has a games room downstairs with a skittle ally, dart board & soft play area for little ones. We will most definitely be going back.

Comfy cottage in ideal location
Honey Cottage is a delightful property in a quiet, convenient location with a small general store, excellent pub and Hele Bay beach all within easy walking distance. The cottage is deceptively spacious with plenty of room for everyone to "do their own thing" be it watching TV in the main lounge, reading in the cosy conservatory or preparing a meal in the large, well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfy and the first night we lay awake just listening to the peace & quiet, so different from our home with traffic noise from the A1 and planes from Luton airport overhead! The only thing that could have improved our week's stay was if the weather had been better but it didn't stop us going out every day and at least the strong winds were warm!
4.9
A hidden gem unforgetable!
What a gem!! Lovely comfortable cottage with everything you could possibly need. Although the weather was slightly unpredictable at times we all enjoyed our stay. We visited local attractions like Watermouth Castle which out 3 year old granddaughter thought was "amazing" and Clovelly which was difficult to access (very steep to walk down) but well worth the visit! And of course we made the most of the super beach at Woolacombe.

Our stay at Honey Cottage,
We had a wonderful week staying at Honey Cottage in Hele Bay. The cottage was spacious, had comfortable beds and had everything we needed. The cottage was in a good spot, with little passing traffic, so was quiet and peaceful. We had not been to Hele Bay before and were happy with the location and amenities in the village itself. The cottage was not far from the main road, hence Woolacombe, Ilfracombe etc. were easy to get to.
