Dark Sky Viewing
As one of only a handful of International Dark Sky Communities in the world, Borrego Springs offers stargazers an unparalleled celestial experience. Free from urban light pollution, the desert sky transforms into a brilliant canvas after sunset, revealing countless stars, the Milky Way's luminous band, and even distant galaxies visible to the naked eye. This natural sanctuary for astronomy enthusiasts maintains strict lighting ordinances to preserve its pristine dark skies, making it a premier destination for both amateur stargazers and serious astronomers. On clear nights, which occur frequently in the desert climate, visitors can witness shooting stars, track satellites, and observe celestial events with extraordinary clarity. The surrounding mountains create a natural bowl effect, blocking distant light pollution and enhancing the darkness. Local astronomers often host star parties during peak seasons, offering guided tours of the constellations and opportunities to view distant celestial objects through high-powered telescopes. Whether you're spreading a blanket in your backyard for casual stargazing or setting up sophisticated viewing equipment, Borrego Springs offers some of the darkest and most spectacular night skies in Southern California.

Nice and comfortable place
4.0 / 5.0
We enjoyed the place, it was close to town which was very helpful.
Finding the place was a challenge. Suggestion to host to add Montezuma Street which is more Google friendly.

A last minute review was posted at this property which changed my mind about booking. The property was delightful clean great location and perfect set up for two single woman ages 45 and 76 to stay! Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Borrego Springs area. The desert was in bloom and gorgeous. The proximity of this property to De Anza Country Club was an added benefit. Played twice and enjoyed both rounds. Lovely golf course. A highlight for me, in addition to the spring bloom of flowers was sitting in the jacuzzi and watching a half dozen Dahl Sheep come down the mountain,

Although the location was ideal, the home itself had some issues. First of all the sheets had not been changed. There were hairs in between the sheets. Towels were left wet in the dryer which was not even found until the day we were checking out. The interior is outdated and the couches had plywood underneath the cushions which made them uncomfortable for prolonged seating.
One of the bathrooms was infested with odd flying bugs coming from the window frames.
The owner was advised but I just got the feeling that that is the way they manage their property. So sad....

My family loved being able to stay here and would absolutely do it again! The unit is kept in immaculate condition!

We especially enjoyed easy access to town and to excellent biking routes from this spacious condo. The large hot tub and deep, heated pool were all ours, timid bunnies dotting the lawn.
The condo has not undergone upgrades needed to increase comfort in the bathrooms (e.g. fan is loud, shower door is sliding glass), but rooms are large, closets are plentiful, and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and appliances.

Old, not updated. That's fine. Could have been cleaner. Not much available in kitchen. .
I would happily rent again
Be careful. When they take your credit card# for holding they actually charged our account at the time. And it proved impossible to get that back. This was in June for December booking.
