We had a wonderful week at the River House- we canoed and fished and floated every day- the house was very comfortable and well equipped. We saw lots of wildlife- including many bald eagles- a great place!

We could not possibly have enjoyed our stay on this property any more. It is even more beautiful and peaceful than the photos lead you to believe. The river access is amazing and so enjoyable. We swam, kayaked, picnicked, and fished and fished and fished! The house is impeccably clean and contains everything one could want right down to an ice cream maker! The homeowners are delightful and super helpful. The whole week was definitely a five-star experience.

The owners were amazingly helpful in making my last minute Christmas trip a success! The absolute perfect spot to get away as a family and reset. Cannot wait to go back and experience it in the warmer months as well!

I stayed at this property with my wife and two children. The home was nicely designed and very clean. It was great being right on the Delaware River. The property is loaded with deer that stay in the fields all day. The host was accommodating and responded quickly. I would highly recommend this property especially if you are looking to do something on the river.

We had a great time staying over the Labor day weekend. There was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is beautiful and had everything we needed.

I have been coming to the Damascus area my whole life. We have a cabin 5 miles from this property. This year we needed a larger spot to hold 3 generations celebrating my mother’s 80th. This home was perfect. Beautiful landscape, epic sunrises from the bedroom balconies, trails for hiking, private riverfront beach and a basement with games! The only challenge is limited seating and bathroom storage areas. There are no towel racks or table tops in the vast bathroom to hold personal items. With 8 people sharing the hallway full bath, this is a lost opportunity. In addition, the basement has a great TV and games but only one chair for viewing. There is a bar table for four. Movie night was a bit tough as we all went to the loft. With the Futon and the sofa, we still had to sit in the floor.
Otherwise, everything was great! The pitchers are amazing. Both private porches and shared porches. The kitchen is well stocked. We cooked for 10 every night. There is even a fenced in area for the dogs. This was great when letting them out at night.
Wifi worked great! We were all online working in the mornings and had plenty of bandwidth.
As “locals” we felt like we found a hidden gem in our neighborhood. Thank you to our hosts for a fabulous visit!

As soon as we pulled into the driveway, we were greeted by the owners' son who was in town for the week to help out his parents. We could feel just how proud of his home he was as he gave us the tour. He even pointed out that his father milled the gorgeous stair railings from a fallen oak tree on the property. We knew right then and there that this is a special place, filled with loving energy. The home is cozy, yet spacious and extremely clean. It has everything you need -there even were towels just for our dogs who loved swimming in the river. We highly recommend!

Amazing stay
The house was more beautiful than the pictures. It has so many little decks on each side. There are so many little special parts. The loft the game room.. The property sits in the middle of the Forest. Deer running everywhere. Eagles flying above us. All beautifully mowed except for the paths that lead to the River or the Trails . Kayaks available and it is truly great on the water.
There are great restaurants close to the house. We had a wonderful time!

Beautiful Home
We loved this house and property. Very private!
Our son and future daughter in-law nd our good friends also came with us , a total of 6.
We also brought out dogs and the owners have a fenced in area for dogs to go potty.
The house is large and fully stocked, with gorgeous views from all areas of the home.
My husband ordered a fishing license online and caught several fish.
The little town is close and quaint, with some good take out places and dining in restaurants. Debbie and Jeff

Family getaway
Our family of five had a very relaxing time just being together. We had fun swimming, fishing, biking and exploring the grand property. At night we had ping pong tournaments and played board and card games. The house was very comfortable and clean. Just remember to pack your big spray, but if you forget they have some stocked up. Overall a wonderful experience.

The house was amazing, secluded with great river access. We will definitely be staying again. We had nine in our group 6 adults, ages 32-56 and three kids ages 4-7. The river was crystal clear and great for fishing. The house had everything you needed with great wifi access. Desiree was there if we ever needed anything. Thanks for sharing such a great place.

Amazing property! Wonderful hosts!
House was perfect! Location was great being so close to the river. Spent the weekend thinking we’d explore the area and ended up never leaving the property. It’s like your own private park! Will definitely be back.

Outstanding house and property
We loved our weekend at this house. It is even more beautiful than the pictures and was spotless when we arrived. Everything about our stay was excellent, even though it rained every day. The river is a short walk away. The wildlife was spectacular (eagles galore). Our interactions with the host were excellent. We’d love to come back and stay again.

wonderful getaway
We had a wonderful long weekend on this beautiful property.
It was even nicer than it looks in the photos. Such a beautiful area, just a little difficult to get to. It was more remote than we expected and a bit challenging on the snowy roads, but made for a fun adventure. The owners were very accommodating and fixed the remote hot spot quickly when it stopped working. This was much needed considering we had no cell service in the area. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway in the mountains.

We had an absolutely lovely experience - Desiree is very attentive and considerate well ahead to ensure we’re well prepared and safe. Communication was seamless and guest centred. We’re extra grateful for her accommodating of our special needs/ questions, she goes the extra miles in so many aspects to make sure we’ve settled in well. We visited during snow season where we felt we had the entire spacious world to ourselves by the Delaware river - her husband helped us ploughed a hiking trail in the snow. We loved the very cozy and warm house and it’s beautiful design. On the departing day there was icy road, she ensured treatment was timely and extra flexibility with checkout time in the interest of our safety- we couldn’t be happier and luckier with such awesome host.Thank you - we hope to return in the future.

This house is truly beautiful –and quite remote. That’s what we wanted, but please be aware that there is very limited internet service through a single Verizon MiFi hotspot. Though the description says house has “Internet,” further reading states that it only has a hotspot. I would not rent this house if you are trying to do any substantial work remotely requiring strong WIFI capabilities. When we arrived, none of the television sets were connecting to Satellite TV. We personally called Direct TV and after an hour on the phone, we managed to figure out that the main receiver box needed a coaxial cable that was missing. We jerry rigged it to work until the owner was kind enough to bring us one. We were unable to use the fireplace--the biggest disappointment with this property, a focal point of the house and primary reason we booked. The flue was broken and stuck shut. We were really looking forward to spending time curled up with our family in front of a toasty fire. The kitchen—the other reason for booking this house, was very nice for the most part. -Could use a new coffee maker. The Viking-like stove would have been perfect if we could have used the indoor grill, but we were told after we arrived, not to use it or we’d set off the fire alarm. There are no window treatments on the bedroom windows. Covid precaution? It would have helped to have known that before we arrived. All in all, we made the most of our 5 days though I wouldn’t repeat. We took some drives in the countryside and visited the lovely little towns of Narrowtown and Callicoon. Though many of the fun, little stores are only open on the weekends, we were able to shop at a convenient grocery store and get everything we needed. To be honest, we felt a bit cheated for the price of this property plus all the fees. House could use a binder with relevant info. and instructions for amenities. Lastly, We have tried numerous times to contact the owners on the day we left, and after we went home to express our thoughts before posting this review. We have never heard from them, though they seemed very nice.

This has been one of my top properties so far! If you are looking to disconnect and focus on relaxing time with family this is your best choice. Amazing surroundings, beautiful property A+, the river, the dears, the eagles, hicking, fishing, my 12 & 5 yrs old had a blast in this house. They truly enjoyed about nature. We are coming from a city and being here was a complete experience for the kids. We did not want to leave. Excellent Covid 19 protocols in place. Super clean, sanitized, supplied etc. I personally enjoyed a lot, cooking with the best view ever in my life; a river! We planned a 6 days menu and brought in the groceries and I cooked and baked for my family with the fireplace on! I love cooking! We were in this house for NYE holidays and was very relaxing! We went skiing at Big Bear, only 40 minutes away. There is a grocery store only 10 minutes away in case if you need to buy something and mini plaza where we stopped by to get some nice wine. Very well equiped including a pool table along with others games. We cant wait to go back again. We are successfully rechaged to start 2021 !
