We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location was centrally located both for getting around the area (Camden, Rockland, Pemaquid, etc.) and also for getting to the water. We enjoyed our evening walks out the backyard to the harbor and to walk the shore while enjoying the amazing views. There are also a few beaches within 10 minutes of the home which was nice. The home was very comfortable and set up well with the different living spaces. The owners have done a great job decorating the home. Also, the kitchen was quite spacious and had everything you would need. We loved our stay, definitely recommend, and will be back!
The home is already a 10/10 but would recommend a couple of enhancements.
1- TV in Living room is a bit on the small side and giving the size of the room, a bigger one would be great.
2- AC window units at least in the Living room and bedrooms. During our stay, the house definitely got warm during the day. There are numerous fans and it would finally cool down enough to sleep comfortably, for the most part, during the overnight hours. With that said, the AC would definitely have come in handy for parts of the stay.

We loved our stay here. There were lots of rooms with two bathrooms and stairways. Cleaning products were on hand. The decor and furniture made things cozy. I have no complaints here! I'm planning on returning!

Anna and rodneys place was wonderfully cozy yet spacious for our family with 4 adults and a dog. It had everything we needed for eating in and relaxing, and was conviently located to Owls Head and other parks and public areas, as well as downtown Rockland.

Beautiful house that was right near all we wanted to do. Anna was great with communication and gave several ideas of things to do. Would recommend a stay and visit to the area. It was all we expected Maine to be.

We truly enjoyed our two week September stay. Our host and accommodations were excellent. If you enjoy the serenity and hospitality of the local people, then this location is for you. Quaint, nautical, and spacious. We will be returning to this world soon. Thanks to Anna and Ryan!

The property is charming…it reminds me of family vacations from my childhood.
The house is very comfortable, but it is an old house in the country, so if you are looking for that vibe, it is perfect. It is in a place near where boats launch and dock. This is a nice location if you have pets and kids.

This was a fantastic place to experience life on the Maine coast. Exactly what you would expect. The house was very comfortable and clean, had all the amenities you need. We had 5 adults and a toddler, the spaciousness of the house was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for more charm in this type of stay. Easy walk to the beach/pier, as well as the General Store (great by the way). We enjoyed the backyard fire pit just about every night. Rockland is not far away for all of your needs. The guides/rules the hosts set up were understandable and helpful.

House and hosts are amazing. Far enough out from the busy mid coast but close enough to drive to enjoy the downtowns.

This was the perfect cottage with an upstairs view of the bay for my sister and I, who were revisiting the area where we used to vacation every summer as kids. The house was spacious and comfortable, and so many little touches around the house to make it special. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of places to sit and relax. Despite a rainy week, we enjoyed our stay here. It is an easy ten minute trip into Rockland and we had so many great dinners (with lobster for me!) nearby. Anna and Rodney were the perfect hosts, and responded immediately to a small question we had. The Owls Head light is just down the road and was a scenic and interesting place to visit. The Owls Head general store was a short walk and quick spot to pick up a couple things in a hurry. Highly recommend the location and house!

My husband and I had a fabulous and very relaxing stay! The host/hostess’s Rodney and Anna were very helpful and available for any questions. Our accommodations were more than satisfactory and if we get to Maine again we would definitely stay here again! Plus our fur babies were welcome 😊😊

What a charming, eclectic cottage. It was everything we expected and hoped for. Enjoyed talking to Rodney. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Hats off to the Owls Head Lobster Company!!! We managed to have lobster every day of our stay!!!!
Thank you for making our stay cozy and comfortable.

Anna and Rodney were great hosts here in Owls Head. They live nearby and are accessible if needed. The house is spacious and filled with character - perfect for a group or large family with one notable flaw that was NOT mentioned in the write up: two of the three upstairs bedrooms (the one with queen and the two twins) are separated only by a curtain drawn across a wide opening. There is not full privacy for those two rooms. Besides that notable omission from the listing, the house is well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied including a propane gas stove (which we favor), although inadequately lit at night, with no overhead or main room fixture. One other detail that is important for guests to know - especially for those with concerns about stairs - the two staircases (and especially the one from the back bedroom to the kitchen) are quite steep and severe; also the family room and powder room downstairs are at a lower level with two steps down from the main floor. The steps leading into the bathroom are particularly hazardous if the light is not kept on.
The backyard is screened by lush foliage and bushes, but the noise of the adjacent parking lot for lobstermen does spill over at times. Still, the location is central and convenient to town, the nearby state park and Owls Head lighthouse, and the harbor itself - just outside the back door.
I'd return in a flash with a group of artist friends who want to paint the area. But for a family with adult children and multiple couples? The lack of privacy between two of the bedrooms would be a dealbreaker.
Bottom line: a large comfortable house in a convenient location, hosted by wonderful hosts - but there are problems with certain configurations of sleepers - and the yard is not secluded nor is it a 'remote get-away,' if that's what you want.

Quaint Seaside Escape
Enjoyed our week at the Captain's Quarters. House more than suited our needs. Took advantage of the grill for evening dinners and the fire pit for s'mores. Fun to be able to walk to the Owl's Head general store and light house. Pic nic'd on the shoreline and combed for seaglass and shells. Anna & Rodney were friendly and hospitable. Would stay again -

Coastal and wonderful
Anna and Rodney were incredible! Our family of four stayed here and it absolutely made our trip to Owls Head and coastal Maine a total delight. The house is charming and clean and has all you will need to have an incredible visit. Both Anna and Rodney were so helpful with local tips and suggestions. The walk to the lighthouse became our evening routine and it was the perfect way to finish the day! Highly recommend staying here!

Girlfriend 's getaway
The home was a beautiful old house with so much character. A bottle of wine with snacks welcomed us when we first got there. Anna showed up and gave us great ideas for our visit. The house was cozy, clean and had all the amenities we needed. I actually left my dirty laundry and it was sent back to me.
My girlfriends and I had a wonderful stay.

Our Maine Stay
We give this home and location a 5 out of 5 stars. Lobed the close vicinity to Rockland and Camden without being in the thick of things. The drive to Acadia was about 2 hours; the scenery on the way was worth the drive. Rodney and Anna were great hosts...enjoyed talking with them both. Spacious house, full of charm...and clean! (I'm a fanatic about clean :)
All the amenities were satisfied. The kitchen was fun to cook in. Our little dog enjoyed the large yard. It was enjoyable having the fishing vessels behind us; listening to them go out each morning. Adding to our joy, was walking to the General Store, even for breakfasts. Outdoor eating area there was pleasant. All in all, Captain's Quarters was a great place to stay.

Wonderful Stay!
We've been visiting mid-coast ME for over 30 years, and this was one of our favorite rentals. The location is great--easy access to the working waterfront across the street and the new town park next door; a nice walk or bike ride to Owls Head lighthouse and state park, and a short hop to Rockland and Camden for dining, shopping, art and hiking in the Camden Hills. Due to COVID travel restrictions, we had to change our dates and our hosts were very accommodating. Very much appreciated the bottle of wine Anna left for us on arrival. The Captains Quarters is just as described -- very comfortable and clean, with a nice back deck and yard area for our pup.

Restful Getaway
A charming home near a beautiful lighthouse. We enjoyed the quiet town of Owls Head and still being so close to Rockland and Camden. Crescent Beach was great for swimming and Mcloons per Anna’s recommendation was phenomenal (highly recommend their whoopie pies!)

My family of 5 had a great time here. It’s adorable and we enjoyed playing games and the fire pit at night. Our host recommended a day trip to Monhegan Island - it was simply awesome. Perfect Escape
We had a beautiful time at Captain’s Quarters in Owl Head - it was the perfect quiet getaway for our family of three and two rowdy dogs. The property is private and scenic, the home is even cozier and cuter than advertised, and with downtown Rockland only 10 minutes up the road, access to food and entertainment was quick and easy. A great escape for anyone looking for good seafood, friendly folks, rocky beaches, and an endless ocean breeze.
