Owls Head is a small coastal town with an active commercial fishing community (lobstering primarily). Fresh lobster can be bought nearby. There is also a wonderful fish market in nearby Rockland. A short drive up the coast brings you to the picturesque coastal towns of Camden and Rockport- a destination for hiking, sailing, skiing, and other outdoor adventures.

Other great areas to explore in the mid-coast include; the Saint George Peninsula and Port Clyde; Camden Hill State Park; Belfast; the islands of North Haven, Vinyl Haven, Islesboro, and Monhegan (great day trips!) and more. Summer brings the annual Lobster Festival, The Blues Festival, Boat Show, Farmers Markets, blueberry picking, yard sales, and lobster bakes! The owner will leave (and send) all guests a detailed and updated list of area attractions and activities, and can offer suggestions based on your interests.

The Midcoast area also boasts a thriving food scene, and there are many wonderful restaurants, lobster shacks, farmers markets, fresh seafood & local produce, wineries and breweries.

We loved our stay at Donna's warm, peacefully decorated, scenic home. Early mornings and evenings on the deck overlooking the water were a favorite time for meals spent watching the tide moving in and out, viewing various birds, and enjoying the sunlight on the rustling trees. Donna was fully stocked with paper and kitchen supplies. This home was the perfect base for exploring the Rockland and Camden areas or remaining in Owl's Head.

This house is perfect! It feels more like someone's beautifully furnished home than it does a vacation rental. Donna has thought of everything to make her home comfortable, welcoming, and easy for visitors. We had a wonderful time and will be back.

The house is exactly as pictured and described. Its well stocked and very clean. The location is very private and super quiet. Three large comfortable bedrooms and 2 full baths gave everyone their space. The yard is well maintained and the view is phenomenal, especially at high tides. Communication with the owner was great, very responsive and easy to reach. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back.
