Lovely property in an excellent location. Very well equipped kitchen and cottage had everything you need.
Didn’t make much use of downstairs toilet as in converted garage across the parking area. A couple of minor issues were resolved quickly by the owner. Quirky, spacious property - would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage.
The house has its very own identity, pleasant and with a luxurious kitchen.
The private garden is lovely.
There are lots of beautiful walks around.
We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great find, great value. If anything, the listing under-sells itself. The property is well presented and in a very picturesqe location. you have the conveinience of a pub less than 5 mins away for those who don't want to cook and a steam railway for novelty trips to the coast. On top of that, you're in the Lakes. Who could ask for more.

Stunning views, Great walks, a couple of pubs, shop, and the Eskdale railway literally out the door. The sun also never went in, good communication with the host, and the cottage has everything you need!

Lovely comfortable homely holiday house
We found Green Lodge to be a very homely comfortable place to stay. It had a very nice sitting room at the back of the house with views over fields to the distant fells. The kitchen was newly done up, well equipped & had everything you could need.

Pleasant, well-supplied cottage in a lovely, quiet location
My husband and I spent 4 nights in Michele's cottage. Michele was responsive and arrangements were smooth. We did not have mobile service at the cottage, which made communication a little tough, but the WiFI was good so we managed. The cottage is pleasant, with a large, sun-filled back room and conservatory with a lovely view of the yard and hills in the distance with no vehicle traffic. The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious. Michele left some nice touches: treats in the kitchen, toiletries in the bathroom. The setting is very peaceful, avoiding the crush to the east and not too far from the coast, with good walks nearby. One can walk to the Eskdale shop on a back route avoiding the main road. We would definitely stay here again.
We were unable to open windows upstairs, likely due to recent painting. Michele immediately tried to address that when I informed her, but was unable to get anyone out while we were there.

We had a lovely break in this cottage, it had everything we needed in there. Thank you for allowing us to stay and for the wine and ginger nut biscuits they went down a treat. The views from the garden are wonderful and we would recommend this cottage to anyone. Thanks again

The cottage is nestled in a quiet spot with lovely views and walks from the door. It was plenty big enough for two with the room at the back of the cottage being an amazing space. There were some minor issues.
The cleanliness needed a bit of work. The cobwebs and spiders were numerous, including in the kitchen above where you're preparing food. There were plenty hanging from the ceilings and in high and low corners. It was disappointing as it's something easily rectified.
The mattress on the bed had two troughs in it where it was worn down. Saying this it did not affect our sleep but just made it quite difficult to move.
There was no hand soap in the kitchen or in the cloakroom/utility room.
Also it is unusual to not have a hairdryer provided. A hairdryer was not listed on the cottage's amenities so I did know this was the case.
So, all in all we had a really lovely few days. The cottage is charming and with the minor issues solved it would be wonderful. It still wouldn't stop me recommending it to anyone though. It is a beautiful part of the Lake District.

Our stay at Eskdale
We had a wonderful time in a beautiful cottage. The scenery was fantastic, walks straight from the door. The cottage has everything you could ever need. The only negative is the step from the bedroom when going to the bathroom at night. We had to leave a light on or I feel I may have fell down the stairs. But we will certainly be back.

Does what it says on the tin - plenty of space and a fantastic outlook from the garden.

Lovely cottage with stunning views from a lovely enclosed garden. Lots of good walks locally and only 10 mins to Wastwater.

Lovely spacious cottage in West Cumbria
We enjoyed the warm, spacious cottage with lovely views over the garden and hills beyond. It was a very short walk from The Green station where you can catch the little steam train to Ravenglass. Wastwater is also very close, as is Scafell Pike and there are lots of walks from the door.

Lovely property with a mountain view
The property had everything that we needed, it was very clean. A lovely little stream running through the end of the garden with the cows and sheep just over the fence.

Lovely, homely cottage in an excellent location
Green Lodge is very comfortable, well equipped and a real 'home from home'. The sun room and garden have beautiful views. The Ravenglass to Dalegarth steam railway is almost on the doorstep, but it is not intrusive at all. There are lovely walks directly from the cottage and several excellent pubs close by and a very useful local shop.
The cottage is just as described and pictured on the website, and was perfect for our holiday (2 adults and 2 small dogs).

A home from home (with many of the quirks of home)
This cottage was an utterly home from home with its comfortable furnishings with everything we needed and more.
Knowing the area, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the cottage was, especially the bathroom and conservatory.
The little notes and instructions on how to use various things around the house were a nice touch but some were very hard to follow including the boiler, the windows and one of the TVs.
The mats in the conservatory, whilst there for an understandable reason, are unforgiving on blisters even though socks.
4.6
Lovely cosy cottage, perfect location. A home From home
The property is spacious and well equipped. Close to the Ravenglass to Boot steam railway, great pub close by and beautiful views

Fantastic break away
This is a gorgeous cottage with plenty of room downstairs, and a good sized bathroom. I can imagine in the summer, it would be lovely to sit in the garden too. This is a very unspoilt area of the Lake District, and we found plenty of great walks.
The hosts are very thoughtful, and left instructions and contact details. Also, a bottle of wine, biscuits and milk. Much appreciated. I would highly recommend Green Lodge.

Beautiful location. Lovely place, much better than the photos show.
Great break, excellent location. Loved our break there.

Cluttered and dirty cottage
Cottage in lovely location , with lovely views. However the cottage inside although warm and spacious , left a lot to be desired as far as cleanliness was concerned . It benefitted from double glazing with removable panels with obviously a gap in between the window and glazing. In the gap in the bathroom were at least 40 dead bluebottles and in the bedroom were at least 10-12 with a few dead on the floor . Luckily there was a vacuum cleaner so we were able to take out the glass panels and Hoover the flies up. I could not have used the rooms otherwise.
The fridge was full of the owners food , out of date jams etc , half a dish of butter and even a container with old fat/dripping in .
Soap in downstairs toilet and bathroom was old and cracked .
Fire in little snug was not working effectively good job heating worked. The weather was very wet and we were pleased when we arrived to see a hosepipe outside, hoping to be able to use this to keep our dog clean. This was not possible as water to this was switched off . This made life difficult when we returned from a walk. Surprising as the owners have dogs.
Paintwork dirty and cobwebs all over . When we stripped the beds at the end of our stay I was shocked to see the pillow I had slept on was badly stained.
If we had realised this holiday let was actually a second home with family pictures all over and so much clutter and dirt we would definitely not have stayed .
The only reason we did not complain when we were there is because we were aware it was school holiday time and probably would not find anywhere else . Totally disappointed with our stay and Suggest the sites inspection team up their standards and hire proper cleaners before letting properties in that area .
