About this apartment rental
Summary:
Live like a local in this show-stopping three bedroom, two bath apartment located in downtown Charleston. Housed in an historic home dating to 1851, every detail of the rental was fully renovated in 2017 to feature antique heart pine flooring, tongue and groove walls, European hardware dating to the original period of the home, a fully custom kitchen, brand new washer and dryer, and more.
The floorplan is ideal for socializing with an open concept living room and eat-in kitchen on one end and the three bedrooms on the opposite end. The living room and kitchen look out on Cannon street, one of Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood’s most vibrant streets, home to many popular stores and restaurants all just steps from the rental.
The chef-ready custom kitchen features high-end kitchen appliances that make it convenient to whip up any meal – although with so many great restaurants within blocks of the rental, it may be hard to resist going out for meals. Off of this living room/kitchen area is a classic Charleston porch, offering guests an outdoor area to visit and people watch.
All three bedrooms boast comfortable queen beds with plush bedding. Two of the three bedrooms feature full ensuite bathrooms (shower and toilet – no baths). One of the two bathrooms opens both to the bedroom as well as the hallway, allowing the third bedroom to access the bathroom from the hallway just off the bedroom.
The rental is located on the second floor (spiral staircase!) of the home and is one of three rentals we offer within the home. Please inquire if interested in booking more than one rental and we’d be happy to try to accommodate larger parties throughout our other rentals. One onsite parking spot is available for the rental – with room to park one more car across the street in a parking lot we lease.
Absolutely no parties or late-night noise will be tolerated.
Outdoor patio with Acorn barbecue grill, all outdoor cooking utensils provided.
I am three blocks from King Street. Cannon Street dead ends into King where you would be right in the middle of all the activity - many nice restaurants such as The Darling, the Grocery, Ordinary and Endaco, good places to have drinks like Stars, the Belmont, Midtown and Prohibition. There are also great niche restaurants closer than King Street. Pick the experience - fine dining to relaxed outdoor dining, it is here. You could look up Hominy Grill, Chez Nous, Trattoria Lucca, Fuel, Goulette.
I am available for questions as needed. Glad to assist in any way I can.
Once the site of colonial lumber mills, Cannonborough is now an inviting neighborhood blending stylish historic and reproduction architecture. It's also located within walking distance of Upper King Street's excellent restaurants, shops, and bars.
There is plenty to see and places to visit within walking distance. Pedicabs are readily available to get you from point A to point B. Uber and Lyft are very common. You will not face any delay catching an uber. Mind as well catch an uber for about $20 to Magnolia or Middleton Plantations.

If you want the full Charleston experience you need to sign up for a walking tour or carriage tour, a must. If you have sea legs and are aiming for total immersion into history, the steamboat runs to Ft. Sumter several times daily so that you can land your two feet at exactly where the Civil War started.

Such a great experience, cozy beds, gorgeous decor and amenities, including wonderful verandah and smooth arrival process. Love the spiral staircase to get up to the place. All was excellent!

Great spot near king street. Good bagel spot nearby. Owners provided great coffee and tea as well as board games. We enjoyed breakfast on the porch. Met one of the owners who was delightful and let us tour the other upstairs unit. Clearly they have put a lot of sweat equity in this place!

This place is amazing! Our host was very responsive and made check in easy and efficient. The property itself was super comfortable with every amenity you need! Beds were dreamy and the porch was a real treat. Really impressed with the attention to detail and historic beauty of the home. We will be coming back for sure.

We were in town for a wedding, this was the perfect place to stay for access to great restaurants, coffee shops, and just touring Charleston. Loved the historic features of the beautiful home!
The kitchen was small but beautifully designed and had everything we needed. My husband loved the extra large coffee mugs!!

I recently had the most incredible stay at this VRBO property, and I cannot say enough good things about it! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning property that exceeded all our expectations.
The location was perfect. The house itself was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, and it was clear that the hosts had put a lot of thought into making our experience unforgettable.
One of the highlights of our stay was the outdoor space - the outdoor porches were amazing overlooking the Charleston homes.
The hosts were exceptional - friendly, responsive, and genuinely committed to ensuring that we had a memorable stay. Their recommendations for local activities and dining were spot on, and added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip.
Overall, our experience at this VRBO property was nothing short of amazing. It was the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and serenity, and I cannot wait to return. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable getaway, look no further.

Thanks!

We had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect for our surrounding events. My only regrets were not having enough time to eat at the restaurant next door and too little time spent enjoying the balcony. We would definitely stay here again.

We flew down to Charleston for a girls weekend. This VRBO caught our attention right from the start because of the gorgeous pictures. The location did not disappoint! It was a lovely property in a great location - close enough to everything we wanted to see, but in a residential area that was quiet and safe. We had a blast. We definitely felt pampered. Would love to come again, and stay here! The attention to detail was wonderful, and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Thank you! Highly recommend!

Our Charlestonian stay was top notch. The apartments spacious and no detail is overlooked. The gorgeous wood, high ceilings, comfy beds, the porch and extensively outfitted kitchen made the stay memorable. We'll be back. The hosts went out of their to help accommodate my needs as our travel plans changed. Thank you kindly.

The property was as described and met our expectations. Very nice inside and out and within walking distance to just about everything. Food (literally on site and next door), coffee, stores, and a few small parks.
You can't do much better in my opinion.

The property was even better than the photos! Clean, spacious, welcoming, and warm. The deck/piazzas were amazing for lounging in the morning. Each bedroom has its own flair and we loved learning about the history of the property. Steps away from great shops and food. Cannot recommend this place and location enough!

Mom/Dad came down to host Thanksgiving in Charleston for our Clemson son (and friend). This VRBO was perfect for the trip. Kitchen was top shelf for pulling out a Thanksgiving Meal. Location allows us to walk to almost everything. Can't over state the time sitting on the second floor porch with coffee watching the world go by. Amazing fine touches done on this rennovation.

Great property for 3 couples. Close to all the sights and a fabulous restaurant right next door. We were all very impressed with our unit. Beautifully redone and well done. We had a great time hanging out, seeing Charleston and attending basketball tournament at the College of Charleston. Would definitely consider on next trip to Charleston.

Short vacation with my wife and two of our closest friends, From the moment we arrived, Morgan, (the owner) greeted us to help bring our luggage up to our rental. Everything was spotless and conveniently located. Beds were comfortable and all linens were clean. We felt right at home. Location was only about two blocks to King Street. If ever back in Charleston, this is the location that we will book. Thank you Morgan for an incredible stay.

This place was wonderful... very clean and perfect for a girls trip to Charleston! Great location...with a wonderful restaurant Southland next door. The balcony was the perfect spot for morning coffees and evenings spent after dinner drinking wine.
Communication with the manager before our stay was not what I am used to for a premier host. Would take days if not more to reply. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Once we arrived, Morgan was wonderful with communication.

Unique and original property that made our visit unforgettable. Clearly, the owners have put their heart into making this place truly awesome.

The vintage decor and use of space was amazing. Close proximity to King St. We loved sitting on the spacious half of our porch. There is a narrow spiral staircase to the upstairs units, so it would be very difficult for someone with mobility issues. Holey Bagel, a couple blocks away, was very good for breakfast. Ladles, in the garden level of the house, had excellent soups, salads and sandwiches. I highly recommend this property.

Property is fantastic. Clean, well appointed, and plenty of towels, pillows, toilet paper, pots, pans, utensils, etc. we were a family of six adults and had plenty of room. The place is situated just a few blocks from King Street so location was great. George and Morgan were readily available and just awesome hosts. Our flight was early and they allowed us to drop our bags at the house and let us check in two hours early. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back.

Can’t say enough about this place, excellently appointed, loud fans, comfortable bedding, thick quality towels, phone chargers and noise machines in each room. Within walking distance of King Street, restaurant right next door. I haven’t even mentioned how beautiful it was, with high quality kitchen items, iclad pans, high end stove, industrial decor. Great experience overall, a bit pricey for as often as we come, but if we are ever bringing friends into town, we will definitely bring them here.

This rental was beautifully appointed with a mix of fancy french appliances, vintage fixtures, antique and industrial design elements, and cozy furniture. We slept on the most comfortable beds and pillows. It was a short walk to the shops, restaurants, and nightlife on King Street. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the front porch after a day of site seeing and shopping. It was a perfect spot for a group of 4 best friends from college, now in our 40s.

Nice clean condo close to shops music and restaurants. Spiral staircases is a bit steep but the front balcony made it worthwhile.

Great property in great neighborhood. walkable to downtown areas. Wonderful new restaurant right next door. Very well appointed property--better than most rentals I've had over the years, especially if you plan to cook in. Would stay here again in a second.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Charlestonian! The space is very cool, the beds are really comfortable, and the location is great for dining and nightlife. Try the new restaurant Southbound next door, it was outstanding!

George was very personable and let us in when we arrived. He gave us more information on the city and was very friendly. He takes good care of his guests and his properties. We stayed on the second floor in a beautiful, classy, detailed, space. This house is in the food district, short walk from a few cute restaurants and holy city bagels shop! Below the house is Ladles, another unique restaurant. Perfect location just a short drive from Sullivans island and the battery and rainbow row. Overall a very beautiful and quiet setting perfect for our girls trip. Very impressed with the decor and location!

Wonderful Experience
We loved our stay. The property was lovely, clean and comfortable. It was in reality as it was represented online, which isn’t always the case for rentals. I would absolutely stay here or at another of George’s properties again, and I’ve already recommended it to others. The location is easy. Quick access to Upper King and minutes away via car to lower King area. Parking was easy as was check-in and checkout. We have no complaints!

Exceeded expectations!
This listing is absolutely gorgeous! The beds and bedding were so comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need for your stay. We traveled to Charleston with our two teenage boys and they had a great time too. The Charlestonian on Cannon St. Is close to shops and restaurants….great location! The management staff was quick to reply back to texts and they were very easy to work with! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you for a great week!

Highly recommend The Charlestonian!
We had a wonderful time in Charleston and the accommodations at The Charlestonian were excellent. The hosts were very responsive, made the check in easy and provided some great recommendations. It's a very comfortable and nicely renovated space and well suited for 6 people. We really enjoyed sitting out on the veranda/balcony in the mornings and evenings. It's also located in a great part of town with easy access to great restaurants and bars. We highly recommend it!

Charleston
Great location! Close to everything we wanted or needed. George and his team do a great job. The unit was stocked with every kitchen utensil you could imagine. Even tho we didn’t use it the property has an electric car charging station which is quickly becoming a requirement for many people. We had one minor issue and George responded immediately. We would all highly recommend the unit and if in Charleston again this would be our only choice.

Lovely accommodations with a refurbished urban twist.
The owners have turned this space into a wonderful 3-bedroom gem using the space creatively and creating a unique oasis for guests. Be prepared to enter through the outdoor spiral staircase where you will enter the unit. The outdoor porch facing Cannon Street is fabulous and you are within walking distance to King Street and all the wonderful shops and restaurants.

The photographs intrigued me, but don’t do the property justice.
Everything about the house was awesome. Great attention to detail in the rebuild, great location and great communication and responsiveness by George and Morgan.
Would recommend and would stay again.
