We stayed in Hornfleur at Le Chalet in May and found it to be a very comfortable place to spend time with views across the estuary towards the suspension bridge, withun a quiet part of the town.
The cottage is very well catered for with most appliances and all that you need to enjoy your stay.
We would highly recommend it and Monika the host was very helpful on arrival explaining the facilities as well as recommending some places to eat. Of which there are many very good restaurants especially for fish lovers...
Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful week in this charming cottage in the lovely village of Honfleur. The house has everything that is needed and all is of good quality. We enjoyed the wood stove. The owner is very nice and lives close by in case of need. We can only recommend the place.

The cottage (Le Chalet Normand) was a convenient and comfortable base for discovering Hornfleur on foot and the entire surrounding regions of Normandy by car during our six-day stay (we had spent the previous week visiting western Normandy with Bayeux as a base). The half-timbered cottage is well-appointed and sparkling clean. Easy walking (15 minutes) many very good and several truly great restaurants in the heart of charming and historic Hornfleur. Beautiful flowers are everywhere - even in early October. Monika is an attentive hostess and great communicator who lives nearby and whose artistic skills are on display in several paintings which adorn the cottage.

The house is great, as is the garden with a lovely view of the Pont de Normandie. Although outside Honfleur, the town is within walking distance.

Only one remark - the sofa in the living room is not transformable in bed - so location should be for 4 people or less not 5

We had a lovely stay at this property in Honfleur. Despite the wet weather we found plenty to do in the area and enjoyed being able to walk into Honfleur.

At the same time two great experiences: the chalet is very rural and quiet and green; and in a few minutes walking you are in the centre of the beautiful Honfleur.
The house was great for our small kids; there were even games and a baby bed and a stroller.
The host was great. A very warm person and when we had a question the answered and acted immediately.

Beautiful property in a fantastic location looking out towards the Pont de Normandie. A short walk downhill to Honfleur. The property is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Monika our host welcomed us, gave us helpful directions to the town centre, gave us ideas for good restaurants, walks, and places to visit. We had a wonderful long weekend. Thank you

We had such a great time staying at this cottage. Monika was an incredible host providing us with so much information about the cottage and near by areas that we could visit. The cottage itself was clean and very cozy and its outdoor space was beautiful with apple trees we could pick fruit from.
We had a one year old with us and the cottage had everything we needed from a crib to a high chair and it also had lots of age appropriate toys.
I highly recommend renting this cottage you won’t regret it!

Fantastic trip – the house is an easy walk down into Honfleur and even our 80- and 87-year old made it back up the hill after days in town. Monika made us feel very welcome and the house is very well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Due to COVID we had cancelled a couple of times and Monika was very accommodating. Definitely not disappointed when we arrived. The cottage was lovely and in such a quiet and peaceful surrounding. with amazing views. The walk down to town didn’t take too long, although the walk back up was quite a slog but we never gave up despite our ages of over 70!!
The cottage was well equipped and cosy. Would recommend a stay here as very central to Honfleur and easy to get out and about. Thanks to our host for her hospitality

My husband, our 2 month old baby and I spent a week here. Absolutely lovely, the host is incredibly kind and helpful and the house is cozy and private. Would absolutely accommodate a larger family comfortably we didn’t even use the top bedroom. The house is a 15 minute walk to the center of Honfleur which was also a huge benefit so we never had to drive into the heart of town, we just walked each day. We’ll certainly stay here again on a subsequent visit to the area

Comfortable and spacious in a wonderful location.
A comfortable, spacious French cottage, very well equipped with everything you could need for a perfect stay. Located on a quiet hillside on the outskirts of the lovely town of Honfleur, the gite can be reached by an uphill, though very manageable 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the bustle of the old port. The outside space is exceptional, with trees to the rear and a lovely spacious garden with distant view of the Pont de Normandie to the front. Perfect for outside dining, with birdsong, all day long. Monika our host was both charming and responsive, providing excellent communication before and during our stay. Highly recommended.

A beautiful cottage with a lovely view.
The property was very well presented, Monika arrived promptly and was very helpful regarding things to do and places to visit. The cottage was very comfortable and the garden very private. It is only about 10 minutes walk out of town, but feels very rural and peaceful.

We and our 2 kids had a great stay in this very warm and welcoming chalet on the outskirts of Honfleur. It immediately felt as a second home and we wished we could have stayed longer. Monika is a great host and we can recommend the chalet to everyone!

Cozy get away
Cozy, quaint, rustic is how I would describe this lodging. Great place to stay if you want compact home, authentic half-timber architecture, great view and short drive to harbor. Everything you need is here: comfy king size bed, shower, kitchen, washing machine and fireplace. Peaceful surroundings, private parking, and nicely equipped kitchen. Owner very responsive and always willing to assist. You will feel at home here.

A lovely getaway chalet in Honfleur
We had a wonderful stay at Monika Daneel’s charming Chalet du Normandy. Monika was very welcoming and very thoroughly introduced us to all of the features of the house. The half-timbered home is well situated for sightseeing in the Honfleur and Deauville/Trouville areas. The driveway up to the chalet is quite steep and the roadway on which the house is located is very narrow, but we quickly got used to driving up and down. It is a very private and quiet place to spend time in Honfleur with a nice view of the Bridge of Normandy from the large front garden.

We enjoyed being close enough to Honfleur to walk into town as parking is difficult and expensive. The owner is charming and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Would recommend the property and hope to return as the house is very private and surrounded by a beautiful garden

Wonderful place
Everything others have said are true. Cottage is very clean, beds comfortable, bathroom very nice, well appointed, easy walk to town and especially to the patisserie ( 7 min walk); and Monika couldn’t be a better host. We recommend highly, no reservations.

Great location and house
Nice house in a quiet location with a good view. The wood burning stove works great to heat the living room. Shower great, bed comfortable. Monika couldn’t have been nicer. I didn’t see in the contract that there would be a surcharge for electricity use over 10 kWh per day. We didn’t spend much time at the house and and used the oven once to reheat food. Only used the heat in the bathroom for a few hours each day and went over our allotment a little during our 4 night stay. Monika graciously waived the charge because we were over only a little. She said this practice of charging for electricity above a threshold is usual in France. I note ithis as a point of awareness only. Would recommend this house, a great value

Such a relaxing break!
We have just come back from this beautiful cottage in Honfleur. When we arrived Monika was so friendly and helpful, taking time to talk us through the cottage and the local area. She had picked fresh flowers and made the cottage so welcoming. We have two children aged 6 and 3, they loved their upstairs bedroom and the wood burner. Honfleur is beautiful and everyone was so friendly, it was a real cultural experience for the girls who loved trying to speak French. Would definitely recommend it to others looking for a chilled out break.

Cozy Chalet with Amazing Views
Our stay in this chalet was superb! It was very clean and had so much French character we knew we were in France. We loved the wood burning stove which added to the coziness and ambiance. There was alternative heat, but we didn’t need it. There was lots of room with great sleeping beds and comfortable sofas. The kitchen met all of our needs and we did cook some meals there. Monika was delightful and even drove to the grocery store showing us the way. She also brought us crisp, sweet apples from her garden. The views of the Pont de Normandie bridge from the chalet were great. The 10 minute walk to and from town is very steep, so we decided to drive there. Honfleur has lots to do and fabulous places to eat. I highly recommend staying in this chalet and making your stay in Honfleur perfect.

Perfect place, perfect location.
Le Chalet du Normand was absolutely charming. It was situated on a hill above Honfleur with a great view of the Pont Normandy bridge and only a five minute walk from the center of town. We stayed here for eight days and had a wonderful stay. There were chilly nights but the easy to operate wood stove kept us toasty. It had a wash machine (a must for us), a nice bathroom and a big, comfortable bed. Monika, our host, was very nice and had great recommendations for restaurants and sites to see. Honfleur and Normandy are filled with fun things to do - more than we had time for. We will certainly return and when we do we will book Le Chalet du Normand again.

Lovely ,quiet ,well equipped traditional Normandy house
What a lovely place. The welcome by Monika was warm and friendly and her introduction to the house and locality invaluable. The house has a very well equipped kitchen and lovely light and open sitting area with wood burner. It is in an elevated position with views of the bridge and the area is quiet and residential and a ten minute walk into Honfleur. The bakery is just down the steep hill and the supermarket an easy ten minute drive on the road out of town. Honfleur was very busy in the daytime but quieter in the evening in mid June so being able to walk in is a real bonus. Deauville and Trouville are an easy drive away. Highly recommended!

Lovely cosy house
The house is lovely. Great location. Amazing view of the bridge. Honfleur is lovely too. It was quite cold when we we were there but the house was lovely and warm with the fire. Our girls loved their room upstairs and built a den in there too. Monika is very, very nice. Really enjoyed meeting her.

Hidden gem
We have just returned from a week in the property. It had everything required for a relaxing holiday with the log burner an added bonus at this time of year. The property was fully equipped and there were all the consumables that you normally have to go and buy when you arrive eg toilet rolls, hand soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets... They were all there,. Very thoughtful. Monika had been to the tourist office at the beginning of the season, so we were able to sit and sip the lovely wine left for us and look through the leaflets and brochures at our leisure. Monika suggested some very nice restaurants, which was good because when we walked down into Honfleur, there were loads of restaurants. We will definitely be returning,

Fantastic house, very well equipped and comfortable, excellent location!
Our family have just enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing week at this property. It was really well equipped with many things that other holiday properties do not have - super comfortable beds, sharp knives for cooking, private garden with lovely loungers and every piece of equipment imaginable (even a Nespresso coffee maker and Brita-filtered water on tap!). A perfect location for walking into and exploring Honfleur and just a short drive to the lovely beach at Deauville. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely host, Monika. Our family have had a great holiday and will come back as soon as we can.

A wonderful Normandy visit.
We wanted a Norman cottage with a feel of the area and that's what we had! The view of the bridge and town from our place was fantastic. We walked down the hill to the boulangerie each morning for pastries for our breakfast. The woman was delightful and we were able to communicate with limited English and French.
Monika gave great advice on walks in town as well as restaurants.
We loved finishing our day with some cheese, wine, and a fire in the wood stove.
