Excelente lugar para pasar unos días en familia pareja o amigos con la naturaleza …. excelentes lugares

This was one of the most unique experiences we had in Mexico. Mario picks you up at the Chepe train station and takes you to his isolated, working farm, where he has many cabanas. Since you are far from anywhere else, all meals are provided there for an extra cost. The food was delicious and plentiful. His sister-in-law is an excellent cook.
Mario then offers day excursions. The excursion to Urique and the miradora is highly recommended. We also went to a waterfall near Cerocahui. Mario has a great knowledge of the plants and birds and could easily bird by ear (he was quicker at picking up bird calls than my Merlin app). It was a little more expensive than some places we stayed, but worth it for the unique experience. We spent the first night in a smaller cabana but after they fixed a plumbing problem we moved to the Eagles Nest, which was spacious and had a great view. The surrounded scenery was beautiful.
Also we incorrectly thought that there would be a bank at the train station or in Cerocahui or Urique, which there was not.
Mario worked with us so that we could wire him the money for the extra services once we got there.
They had several plumbing problems when we there, but worked hard to fix them.

The location and the experience of being disconnected , even if it was for a brief moment, was good. The host Mario and his brothers took great care of us and the other guests and even cooked vegetarian meals for us once they found out we were vegetarian. Also, the ride from the train station to the hotel is about 30-40 mins depending on the weather and the condition of the road, but if you can , ask for the ride on top of the SUV. There was a special seating arrangement on top of the SUV and we had an absolute blast getting into the hotel. Also, do the tour to Urique if you can , we absolutely loved it and should be available and it's run by Mario's brother who lives in the valley. Overall it's very easy to recommend this place , given how unique and experience it is. And yes it's more expensive than other locations, but I guess that's the price for a unique experience.
It's a fair bit away from Bahuichivo, so if you want to explore the town itself, you'll have to ask for a ride to get into town and back

beautiful location! if you want to see the copper canyons this is definitely a place you can see them from and get a feel for.

We got the cabaña on the very end of the terrain, near the cliff. Exceptionally beautiful view over the mountains and at night lots of stars. Every meal is great and consists of three courses (soup, main, desert). Great breakfast as well! Mario and his familiy are very nice and offer several hikes, tours and the ritual of the Temazcal (prepare for some heat!). We stayed five nights which we heard was a record, but be assured that a longer stay than 1 or 2 nights is worth your while.
Be sure to ask up front about prices. They are not mentioned explicitly and you don’t want to get suprised. For example, the meals (except for breakfast, which is included) are 250 pesos per person and things like margaritha’s are prepared and offered and will appear on the bill.

Mario and family are very welcoming, he has many good ideas for things to do and of course it's a beautiful place to stay. Also the food is excellent and home grown.

remote, wide open spaces, relaxing, very laid back

Beautiful location, completely silent at night. Great food (Booking rate includes breakfast only; lunch and dinner are add-ons but very reasonably priced, and a nice variety all four nights we were there). It was cold while we were there, but our room had a wood stove that we used some nights. Pickup and dropoff at the train station in Bahuichivo is included in the rate, which is nice. Mario was great at assessing what we wanted to do and offering suggestions for hikes and outings. Take cash to pay, or be prepared to send a bank transfer -- they can't process credit cards at the lodge because it's so remote.

We usually don't write reviews but I this is an exception as we very much liked the place! We loved that it is ran by locals and that they support the Raramuri community and that you can get to know their culture! Also the rooms are beautiful and the food was great ;)
Nothing.

The Breakfast was delicious
We were charged for two cains and at booking told we needed two cabins for a family of 4. This was not the case. Each cabin had 2 double beds and we did not need the 2nd cabin but still got charged.

Stunning location in the mountains with individual cottages. The food is excellent and there are plenty options for activities like horseback riding or visiting the Urique cañon. Very friendly family operated business. Pick up and drop off at the train station worked very well too

A unique hotel in a beautiful valley. We saw soooo many stars from the hill out back. The walk to the waterfall was easy. The lodge terrace with handmade chairs was awesome and food was tasty.
They didn’t have any hiking maps. It was pricier than most other places we stayed in the copper canyon area.

We found the Lodge by accident and were more than happy! Mario, Dido, Magarita and the whole family treated us very well and offered tours into the area or recommanded hiking rutes too. We loved the animales and wild life there but also the tranquility and excellent food! Important to know is that you have to leave the train in Bahuichivo and not like we thought in Divisadero! Thats 1,5h away but luckily Mario picked us up :) It was definitely a highlight of our 3 months road trip through Mexico! tks again!
We liked everything

Mario was a great host and his family-run operation was a wonderful experience. Transfers to/from the train/ El Chepe were included.
The property is about a 35 minute drive from Bahuichivo, past the town of Cerocahui. It is a small ranch with multiple cabins/cabanas of various sizes. There is a cozy dining room/ public space with a sitting area and fire place. There is also plenty of space for relaxing outdoors and a nice fire pit. Dogs, chickens, cows, a horse, burro and hummingbirds can all be found on the wooded property which sits on a ridge at about 7000ft elevation. Our cabin was small and the lighting was very dim, but it was was very clean and had water, electricity and a small table and chair. Wi-Fi was available in a small area outside. Food was excellent, with breakfast being included. Dinner delicious and a fair price. This is a very remote location, so meals onsite are the only option. We stayed 2 nights and our outings were preplanned by Mario and were perfect! One could opt out and enjoy the ranch and surrounding trails. The night we got in he took us on a short hike around and near the property. Our full day there we were taken down to Urique on the canyon road with stops at points of interest and at the big viewpoint. We had a very nice walking tour of town and a lovely picnic lunch at a family members place on the Urique River. The morning before we got on the train we got to enjoy a guided 5 mile hike down the canyon to the town of Cerocahui where we visited the mission and then were transported to the train. We loved it all!

Mario was an excellent host and so was his staff. Besides taking us on a guided hike and pointing out the local birds and plants, Mario also made great pitchers of margaritas for our small group. His cook Margarita whipped up great meals. He also arranged for a Tarahumara guide to accompany some of us as we walked back to the train station. We went down to the Urique River at the bottom of the canyon riding on the top of Mario's Surburban which provided incredible vistas. We also had lunch at his brother's place right on the river. Mario was so knowledgeable about the indigenous people, their culture and traditions, and Copper Canyon in general.
Can't think of anything.

Located in the mountains, approximately 45 driving minutes from the El Chepe train station in Bahuichivo, the San Isidrio Eco lodge was the perfect retreat to disconnect from our daily work routine. We stayed a total of two nights.
Mario (the owner) picked us up from the train station and drove us to the Eco lodge. We stayed in one of the cabañas (bungalows) which count with a spacious bedroom (2 matrimonials) and separate bathroom (hot shower). During cold nights you can connect the portable heater or light the oven. Otherwise there are enough blankets that keep you warm at night.
Mario and his lovely family will serve you breakfast, lunch and dinner. For us, breakfast was included in the price. Lunch and dinner are approximately 150 pesos per person per meal. The food is tasty and natural. They even offer vegetarian meals. For vegans the food options are limited to only vegetables.
On the next day Mario drove us to the Mirador el Gallego from which you have a great view onto the canyon landscape and river. Further down in the village of Ulrique you can even swim in the river (when there is enough water). This 6 hour trip costs (lunch included) 900 pesos per person but is worth it as you get to enjoy breathtaking views on the canyon landscape and an adventurous ride down and up the 2000meter high mountain ridge.
In the evening/night we really recommend the temescal which is comparable to a modern sauna (you will sweat a lot as temperatures can reach up to 100 degrees Celsius!) This ancient one hour ritual will cleanse you body and soul and will liberate you energy. Make sure to bring your swimsuit. After the ritual you get to enjoy the night sky which, since there is no light pollution, is incredibly beautiful. The temescal costs 300 pesos per person but is really (!) worth it.
On the next day we were sun-bathing on the rocks at later Mario drove us back to the station.

Beautiful views from our cabana! Staff made us a bonfire outside our room as a treat. Horseback ride to view was nice. The new cabana we stayed in was very original. Food was excellent!
Showers not aimed well, limited hot water.
