Firstly we want to thank the hotel and all the staff. This was the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed in and we are very well travelled. From the greeting to the room to the pool, to the cleanliness to the staff everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole focus of the staff was to make the guests happy, which we were. We had a suite and it was stunning. Very large, clean and serviced daily. My son slept on the sofa bed and it was probably the most comfortable sofa bed we have ever known! The bed in our room was huge and very very comfortable. Plenty of storage space for clothes etc and everything you can wish for waiting in the bathroom with a huge shower. The food was exceptional and our visits to the restaurant in the evening left you wanting for nothing. The wine list was exceptional too. We really could not ask for more and wish we had stayed another night or two.

Staff members were outstanding very helpful.
The only down full, was the power outages while we stayed over the two days. Effecting, showering- hot water and cooling unit-air conditioner- lights-tv.

Comida, atendimento, ambiente, limpeza, nota 10!

The service was amazing and we particularly loved Matteo who took special care of us the whole time!

They made an effort in the lobby area and had good cocktails. But that was about it.
Please don't get fooled by the pretty Instagram pictures with fancy filters, the reality looks anything but great, and we had a horrible experience with this hotel!
We booked 4 months in advance and prepaid for a deluxe room; their website says, "The ample space overlooking gardens and olive groves perfectly combine comfort and design with a beautiful landscape" - we got a room above the street (the cars passed UNDER the room), and the other side was the "view" on the parking lot and the electricity distributor.
After we complained, they said the hotel was full, and we were offered that we could switch to the room next door the next day. But the room next door did not really have a better view (street and wall), which we could judge from the outside.
We also realized very quickly this hotel was anything but a 4-star hotel:
- Room was DIRTY: dusty, the shower had stains, dead insects hanging on walls, there were hairs on the bathroom floor, and even worse, brown stains on towels and bed sheets.
- Paint was peeling off walls, furniture very outdated, TV was hanging crooked on the wall.
- Rotten fruits on the table.
- Pool was not cleaned (full of dead insects!) with yellow stains; just gross.
- We asked at the time of booking for a second duvet (which was confirmed) - it was missing, so I asked again; they just put the blank duvet without the cover, with BLOOD STAINS, on the bed.
- Super unfriendly. When we asked them to call us a taxi that night (after we made our complaint), all we got back was a very snippy: Oh, it's YOU again!
We stayed for the night as it was too late to get another hotel, but it was a horrible experience and nearly ruined our Tuscany trip.
We asked for a refund for the other 3 nights straight away, but they refused and gave us not even a partial refund (as we didn't eat breakfast or use the facilities.)
We now have to take legal action to get our money back since this is clearly fraud (description matches NOT the reality at all). And reading the other reviews now, we are probably not the only one (e.g.

Breakfast was delectable. A splendid Buffett! Not too much … but good quality.
Bathroom was a little odd getting used to . Toilet and shower in different spaces , but within your room suite.Guess it’s works very well when there are more than one person in a room.😊

It is a beautiful property convenient to Siena, but away from the busy city center.
The hotel amenities were not all that great, and the hotel staff were awkward sometimes.

The entire property is magical with special thought if design appeal around every corner. The artwork, draperies and furnishings perfectly placed for iconic photographs. Special seating spots with beautiful views of olive trees, blooming freesia and roses with the floral aroma in the air. Romantic lights hanging from the trees for moonlight strolls. The pool and veranda with outdoor beds are to die for. The staff is very attentive, kind and courteous. I looked forward to breakfast in the back veranda each morning with fresh farm to table selections and perfect cappuccinos. We dined in the restaurant and had the tasting menu which was an art on our plate and mouth. The chef added a few extra treats making it a seven course experience. Grazie Melle to all at Certosa di Maggiano and for making us feel so special during our 25th anniversary trip.
This not problem per se but know it is a 20-30 minute walk to Siena on a winding road. My husband and I enjoyed the hike to town but some may find it too long for them. Simply ask the front host to line up a taxi for you ahead of time.

The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom was clean and spacious

Our room was over the street so you could hear cars passing by from time to time

We had breakfast in a different range of places and even on the terrace. Fresh fruit, crispy baked breads and homemade sweets, local bacon and meats, warm dishes ...
We had lunch and dinner in the main dining room, delicate homemade dishes, all served by a warm and friendly staff. We regretted to leave the wonderful place.
Nothing really! Going up the stairs to the huge bedrooms may be a problem for disabled people though.
