Great Location, Disappointing Property
We were deeply disappointment with renting this property in New Orleans' Irish Channel this past week.
The description does not align with reality. The space does have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, but the rest of the description and the accompanying photos are incorrect and totally misleading. The property is in a good location, but it is neither charming nor in the Garden District. The photographs are outdated and belie the fact that the street in front of the building is torn up, that large overfilled garbage bins line the side of the property, that weeds are growing on the steps leading to the front door, and that the swing in the porch is long gone. The backyard is inaccessible and there is no reserved parking for 1 vehicle.
The interior is no better. It smells moldy and musty, the furniture is worn and the floors are dirty (remains of dog or human hair). Some of the closet doors are off their railings, the banisted next to the stairs is broken (serious hazard potential), a rung is missing from the trundle bed ladder, and the two roaches were staggering along the bathroom. Disgusting!

NOLA Wedding Trip
Updated does not describe this property! It was not clean and the only room that may have been updated was the kitchen but did not have any silverware and only 3 coffee mugs for seven people. The first floor bathroom had 3 bath towels 1 hand towel 2 washcloths. Downstairs had 3 bath towels no hand towels and 1 washcloth. The paint on wooden toilet seat upstairs was chipped. The upstairs bathroom shower leaked to downstairs which we didn’t realize until we were ready to leave nThere were two partial rolls of toilet paper and when we contacted the owner he gave us a total of 4 rolls for seven adults for four days does not do it. The whole place needed to be painted and the railing protecting the stairway was not attached. The downstairs mattress sounded like a car wreck when you turned over. All in all giving this property a fair was being generous. This was my first experience with this type of rental and I would be very cautious in the future. I realize it is not a hotel but clean equipped and safe is not too much to expect!

Great stay
Great stay in a charming home. It was convenient, clean and just as we expected. I had 2 quick questions for the owner and he responded promptly to both and was very nice to work with. We would stay here again.

Great place for NOLA over New Years
Great place for two families to spend New Years in NOLA. In beautiful Garden District around corner from Magazine St with all the shops, restaurants, bars, etc you need or hop on St Charles line to get into the Quarter. We enjoyed the NYW fireworks from the porch. House had everything you need and Jim was responsive and helpful. Thanks for sharing this place!

Magazine location
The location is ideal if you're wanting the true Magazine Street experience. But the unit is very minimalistically decorated and stocked. If you plan on cooking take your own pots, pans and utensils. A wee bit annoying. Also only a couch in the main room with a couple of kitchen chairs not ideal for 6 adults. Would hope that in the future this unit is given some personality because the location is great.

Location, Location, Location
This property was a perfect place for our stay in New Orleans. The location was near Magazine and was close to public transportation. the parks, downtown and more. Jim was a great communicator, and was able to get us check-in a bit sooner then what was mandatory. It was a great visit and I would suggest this property highly. Thanks Jim.!

Great location, great place
Nothing bad to say about this place. Plenty of space for 6 people. The kitchen was a lot bigger than I thought it might be.

Things are not always what they appear to be!
Tha property was dirty and needed many repairs. When we arrived we asked Jim to remove the rug user the dining table it was filthy. The sink ink the kitchen had a pan of nasty water in it from where it leaked. We couldn't use the stove because it was filthy. We had to watch where we walked because the floor had sink spots. The linen and towels were old and stained. We had to make the best of it. We weren't looking for perfection but clean and safe. The location was good. Jim was accommodating but I think we were a thorn for him. We are a group of retired women who wanted to see NOLA and we did. If we were maybe 20-25 years younger the condition of the property may not have mattered as much.

great time in New Orleans
Jim was awesome, the house was great, location was great we where with in 3 miles from everything we wanted to see, from bourbon street, to the french quarter, and only 1/2 a block from magazine street. Pharmacy and grocery just a 1/2 a block away all in all great time would do it again.

Unbeatable Location
Want to see New Orleans without the craziness of the French Quarter? The Garden District is the place to visit. This house is in a terrific location close to great shops, restaurants, and bars. It features plenty of room to stretch out, and the owner Jim, who lives next door, was helpful and responsive when we needed anything, and allowed us to check out late to accomidate our friends' baby's napping schedule. If you're simply looking for a comfortable place to crash during your New Orleans adventures, this place is great.

Location, location, location
Great location right off of Magazine street. The house was pretty nice and we enjoyed our stay for 2 of the 4 days, until heavy rains came into the lower living area. With continued rains forecast for the remaining time we had to find other accommodations. So be aware of the weather report if planning to use the downstairs area.

Great location but needs clean up after holiday season
The location of this home cannot be beat if you want to be near the attractions in the garden district however it’s clear that this house is used for parties during New Years/mardigras/st.pattys. The walls had stains on them from spilled drinks, the stairs weren’t completely secured, and the windows were filthy. Homeowner that lives next door had a big party for St. Patrick’s day (which he invited us to) but if you’re renting this house on a party weekend in NOLA and are not trying to participate I would confirm plans with the owner ahead of time. Again, great location but needs to have a deep clean done now that the festival season has passed.

Great space and easily slept 8. Everything was in good working condition. Close proximity to Magazine and parade routes was great! And owner was easy to get a hold of and very accommodating!

Nice place in a great location.
We really enjoyed our stay in this house. The place was clean and comfortable in a great location. Close to numerous restaurants, bars and shopping. Only wish there was at least one more bed downstairs. But I understand the advantage of having a true master retreat with an on suite bathroom. I would stay here again with no hesitation.

Great location. Easy access and super friendly host
Wonderful location just off Magazine near a ton of restaurants. We walked to most of our meals and really enjoyed the dedicated parking for the house. Host was super easy to work with and very flexible. A few items need to be taken care of to get a 5 star review - mirror missing in one of the bathrooms. No towel racks in another bathroom. 3 bedrooms, one of which is huge and could easily have a second bed to sleep even more people. Would recommend staying here.
