A fantastic property set on an idyllic pond. A great family vacation.

We were looking for a place away from the crowds that still allowed us to easily visit Acadia National Park. This was the perfect place. We had one free afternoon where we were able to take the kayaks out on the water. My only regret is that we didn't have one more free day to enjoy our time here a little bit more!

Fabulous location, close to Acadia but peaceful, with gorgeous views across the lake. Our family had such a great time both inside and out! Hope to come back again soon.

The cottage was exceptional. It had everything we needed and view is beautiful. Owners are very nice and any questions, they answered promptly. We had a great time. Would recommend.

For some reason the photos online did not do this cottage justice. It was so lovely. The set up was perfect. Loved the location. We took the canoe out on the pond which was so nice. The cottage was well stocked. Would absolutely come back. Perfect for exploring Acadia but getting away from the crowds of Bar Harbor. Google maps doesn’t quite get you there so be on the lookout for the Hogdon Pond sign and follow it to the first right.

My husband and I loved staying at this property. The cabin was very nicely done. I read in prior reviews that it was well stocked. They were not kidding. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook a meal. There were tons of blankets, sheets, and towels in closets. Detergent and dryer sheets for laundry. There was a nice local IGA market that was handy. It was close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The view from the back deck was beautiful. We didn’t get to use the boats and kayaks provided because we were out exploring and hiking till dark and came back to eat and crash. We would highly recommend this cabin.

We adored our cabin and the location. We have stayed on the quiet side for 15 years, but not on a pond. The kitchen was well stocked, the deck was lovely. We are coming back.

The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen had lots of utensils and it was reasonably close to Arcadia National Park which we visited almost every day we were there. We brought our own life jackets for the kayak, but they were already in the storage box by the pond which was nice. We will be recommending this property to our friends.. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We had a lovely stay at this property. It was secluded, quiet and very comfortable! We had all the kitchen equipment we needed as well as towels, blankets, books- everything was provided! The lake was beautiful and the dock was easy to access. The water was clear and cold 😀. The deck was the perfect place to read a book. We loved it!

Loved our stay. The cabin had everything we could ever need and my boys loved rowing the skiff and kayaks across the lake. The beds are comfy and the place feels “lived in” like a home. There are board games and the patio and dock were so relaxing! A great find! Acadia was so close and this place was so quiet - the best of both worlds!

Beautiful, welcoming home on a tranquil pond. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay while enjoying Acadia, this is your place!
The house has a beautiful deck overlooking the pond. There is a shared access to the water with the neighboring house but we never had an issue with trying to access the water at the same time. There is a lot of privacy between the two homes and noise was never an issue.
The house was very comfortable for a family of four. Cozy beds, lots of extra linens/towels. This house is located on the quiet side and is a bit off the beaten path but it is a wonderful location if you want to be a bit removed from the summer crowds.
We really enjoyed our week stay on Hodgdon Pond.

Quiet, idyllic home perfect for exploring Acadia
Beautiful home and property. So quiet and peaceful. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the pond, rather more like a small lake. And we had a great time using the provided kayaks and rowboat, such a bonus. It’s about 25 min to Hulls cove visitor center. Great launching point to explore Acadia and surrounding area. A little confusing to find at first (need to look for Pine Bluff sign, not so much the house address). Would definitely stay again.

Perfect cottage for vacationing with family
This is a lovely rental for those like us who like the quiet side of Mount Desert. The cottage is comfortable and attractive, has pretty views of the pond and came with the use of kayaks and a rowboat (shared with another property, but we never had a problem accessing them). The far side of the pond is Acadia, so pretty to kayak along, and the pond was very quiet. Because the cottage is in a little out of the way, it's a little longer of a drive to some of the hiking areas than some rentals are. You can map it to see how you feel about the times; to me, the peacefulness and the boating/swimming made the few extra minutes of driving worthwhile. The one problem that we encountered was that the lock to the cottage was broken when we arrived and we had been left a bike lock with which to lock it but no combination. Stacy was very responsive, getting us the combination quickly and offering other locking options when she thought that we were uncomfortable.

Pine Bluff
We loved the setting of this home, with a view of the pond and mountains. The house was comfortable and clean, and the use of the kayaks was a nice bonus. When visiting Acadia, we usually stay on the quiet side of the island, and this house is a bit farther out of the way than other properties we have rented, but we didn't mind the few extra minutes of driving at all because the view was worth it!

We loved staying at Pine Bluff. The house has a great lay out, and is in perfect condition. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is in perfect working condition. We loved the location, the fishing, paddling on the pond, sitting on the deck, and visiting nearby villages. We would stay here again.

This place was so serene, right on Hogdon Pond. It was so great to have access to a dock with paddleboats, canoes, and more. It provided a quite respite for myself, my partner, and two dogs after days of hiking.

The house was beautiful, great views of the pond. Our family enjoyed the use of the boating equipment. It was refreshing to be away from the crowds on the other side of the island. Some reviews stated spotty cell service, but we had great service with ATT. Definitely a great place to stay to relax and get away.

Great location
Our family enjoyed the well maintained home set in the woods on a quiet pond, perfect for kayaks and SUPs. The location encouraged exploring the quiet side of Mt Desert Island, but it was a short enough drive to go to the park once or twice each day.

Gorgeous place with a spectacular pond view from the living room and bed rooms. Lots of room yet still cozy. This place is a hidden gem and quiet. We checked in very late, while the GPS insisted to guide us to a dead-end, but thank Stacy keeping the lights on, otherwise we probably spend a whole night to find the house in the darkness. The location is still convenient to everywhere we plan to go. I loved the kitchen and the stove, just stunning! I enjoyed browsing guest books with 30 years history. We stepped out the house and kayaked every day. There’s no cellular signal in this area but you could download offline google map before you go. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning again and again!

This property was the perfect way for my family to enjoy Acadia National Park while still having a great “home base” to hang out. I grew up camping on MDI and have come more recently with my wife to Bar Harbor (kidless) and done the B and B thing with restaurants etc. Loon Lane was not only the perfect place to occupy my young children with, it was the best location to offer activities and proximity to my favorite “quiet side” of the island. We swam, fished with much success, kayaked on Hodgdon Pond, and hiked every day, especially enjoying the western side solitude during crazy Covid times where many of the the Eastern trails and attractions were uncomfortably packed. The house is clean, perfectly equipped, the immediate surroundings are stunning, and the manager and owner/s couldn’t have been more responsive (including the owner’s very prompt trip to replace a key I lost while hiking ♂️). The only thing that should be noted is the considerable lack of cell service in this area, which normally I would consider an asset during a trip like this but tougher during a pandemic when work time is less defined. We would rent this place again with absolute confidence.
