About this house rental
Due to its location on a point, large lot, 180-degree tidal creek views, away from the road on a private drive and peaceful setting, guests have said staying at "Serenity" is like "staying on your own island". Short 6-7 minute walk to Tybee's most remote beach. Easy walk to Tybee's famous Huc-a-Poos as well as several other restaurants and coffee shops. Perfect location for guests looking to be within a short walk to the Wedding Chapel. Naturalists and Birders love it. If you want to relax, experience a gorgeous view with great breezes, yet still be close to the beach, this is your perfect place.
A well-known Tybee home offered for the first time as a vacation rental in 2018. The home has been completely renovated and tastefully decorated with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, fans in every bedroom with a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath. For guests seeking a peaceful retreat during the cooler months, we also have a fireplace.
At the end of our private drive, there is a pedestrian light for easy access to shops, restaurants and the beach. To get to our home from Tybee Road on the private drive, you pass several houses and lots, so you don't have to worry about traffic. We also have one of the larger lots on Tybee, so a great and safe area for kids to play with plenty of parking.
Once guests arrive, they will enjoy sitting on our decks to enjoy fresh, cool breezes and the best creek and marsh views on Tybee. The stars at night light up the sky. The home sits on a point, so extremely private. When our friends see the view, they say "wow"!
In regard to the home itself, the great room off the kitchen has a 180-degree view of the creeks and marshes, high ceilings with three French doors that open up to breezes from the balcony and deck.
In addition to comfortable outside furniture, there is a restored teak table on the deck for outside dining and a Weber gas grill. To further enjoy the breezes, we added a hammock on the deck and a swinging porch swing. We also have indoor and outdoor games, books, beach chairs and a beach cart available for our guests. There is a ping pong table downstairs.
We have three bedrooms with queen beds and a queen sofa bed in the great room. We have an extra foam top for the sofa bed for added comfort. Several guests also asked for an extra bed in the reading nook off the master bedroom for children who want to be close to mom and dad. Therefore, we added a high-end Milliard Diplomat moveable foldable twin bed there as well.
Since Tybee is a small island, biking is popular. Tim's bike shop is a 3 minute walk away. There is also a kayak place a short 2 minute walk to rent kayaks or take a kayak tour. Due to Tybee rule and the home's secluded location, golf carts cannot be used, yet, Tybee is a small island.
If you interested in staying on the south end of the island, our other home is VRBO 460288 "Stargazer". It also has a 4.9 out of 5.0 rating from more than 140 reviews. It doesn't have the marsh views, yet it an historic Tybee cottage, four houses from the ocean.

We had a wonderful family vacation at Serenity, which is a well deserved name. The home is clean and comfortable with a great open kitchen that we enjoyed cooking dinner in every night. The large kitchen table inside and outside on the deck was perfect for us, a group of 7 adults. The large covered porch was our favorite because of the wonderful breeze and beautiful views! We had to contact the owner once and he was quick to respond and answer our question. We will definitely return to Serenity for another vacation.

Home was beautiful and well maintained. Home was well stocked with towels and kitchen supplies. Beds very comfortable! My family enjoyed relaxing and reading and playing games on the deck and the beautiful marsh. Perfect for our teenagers and dogs as well. Short walk to the beaches, coffee, and pizza! Host was extremely responsive to any needs and makes you feel welcomed. Definitely want to stay again soon.

My friends and I came to Tybee Island to celebrate a milestone birthday. We wanted the beach, sun and a nice view. We got all that we had hoped for and more by staying at Mike’s place “Serenity”. The space was clean, check-in was easy and they had some bags of popcorn for us to enjoy. The deck was a favorite in the mornings and evenings. It was so peaceful having coffee and listening to the birds. We enjoyed dinner in one night and made burgers on the grill. It was a short walk to the beach and we appreciated that there were beach chairs to use. Serenity was the perfect getaway to relax and celebrate with friends! I would highly recommend this place!

Property was in immaculate condition and extremely clean. The pantry is full of all kind of goodies…. Keurig pods in a couple of flavors, TP, paper towels, shampoo and body wash, detergent for the washer and dishwasher. Comfortable beds and nice cool air conditioning. We practically lived on the back deck overlooking the most spectacular view of the marsh while enjoying the music from the Pyle Bluetooth speakers and sipping on our favorite beverages. Right across the street you have shopping and 3 restaurants to choose from – and the walk to the beach takes about 7 mins. Oh, and did I mention the ping pong table in the basement ??? What fun ! We all agreed that next time we come to Tybee, we will be staying right here.

I met a couple of friends in Savannah for a quick weekend trip and we settled on this listing because we were looking for a quiet deck to catch up and enjoy the view. This house was just what the Dr ordered. Close to the beach, walking distance to food and night life and the perfect deck for private girl talk and wine! We barely left this spot all weekend! I packed little more than my camera equipment and I’m glad I did. So many stunning photos of various birds and a pair of swimming raccoons! The host was attentive and communicated with me every step of the way from booking to departure. I knew he was available while giving us distance to enjoy the home privately. The house was exactly as pictured/described and clean. We are already planning a return trip with the husbands! Thanks again for making this a trip to remember!

The house was exactly as described - it was clean, very comfortable and a great size. The kitchen had everything we needed, and more! The views over the marsh were beautiful and it was amazing to watch all of the birds so close to the house (wood stork, ibis, herons, egrets, osprey, warblers, bluebirds etc). It was very relaxing sitting out on the deck. Having part of the deck covered and uncovered worked out great - cover from the occasional rain, or sit out and enjoy the sun!
The location was great - an easy, short walk to one of the beaches, 3 good restaurants (we tried all 3) and some really cute shops!
Mike, the owner, answered any of our texts in a timely manner and was very helpful.
We did spend a day in Savannah - it’s a beautiful city with lot of historical charm!
If we are back in Tybee, we would definitely want to stay back at Mike’s house!

The location was ideal for a peaceful retreat and yet it was close to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The porch offered a beautiful sunset overlooking the marsh each evening. The house and bed were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We lacked nothing and loved our time on Tybee island and in Savannah.

My wife and I loved staying for a week at Mike's home on Tybee Island in the middle of the winter. The house was huge and the extra bedrooms and bathroom came in handy when we had another couple stay over one night.
The home is well-stocked with everything you need...way more than any other vacation home we've rented. The location up against the marsh and further away from the road made this an ideal, peaceful location for us.
Mike is an excellent communicator and made sure we had every key piece of information before our trip, and thanked us for choosing his home before we left. We were very impressed with Mike's professionalism and kindness.
Tybee and nearby Savannah were a perfect escape from Pittsburgh's winter, albeit for just a week. Though the highs ranged from the lower 40s to lower 60s during our stay, every day way bright and sunny. We walked on the sparsely occupied beaches daily, took a walking tour of Savannah (using the company Mike suggested), spent a morning in Bonaventure Cemetery and got to know Tybee and Savannah pretty well. We enjoyed one awesome meal after another and really loved the area.
If you're thinking of taking a trip to Tybee/Savannah, stay here. You won't be disappointed.
Brian and Christine.

WOW. That's what went through our minds as we drove up to this amazing home nestled on the Tybee Island marshland. We've visited Tybee dozens of times, but this is one of my favorite stays of all time. The home is spacious and well kept. The wrap around porch though is the highlight of this rental. We loved sitting out gazing on the marshland and watching the sunset. It's the perfect location if you want an off-the-grid feel, but within walking and biking distance of restaurants and the beach. This would be an amazing place for a family to stay as there are plenty of stocked games and activities. The host was amazing and even offered us a later checkout once he knew the cleaners couldn't come until later in the day. I highly recommend. We will be back!

We loved staying at Serenity! The porch overlooking the marsh was so peaceful and restful. We loved the location too. Close to great restaurants. This was our first visit to Tybee Island but certainly won’t be our last. We’re already discussing our next trip. Mike was so helpful and answered all our questions. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!!

I'll start with this; you can't go wrong with staying here.
It is a great location on Tybee. The north of Tybee is the best of it. It's a short walk to the beach, which feels like it's almost private. From the house, it's a quick left then right to hit the best tiny coastal strip of stores you've ever seen. I'm not talking gaudy "surf shops." This is a gem of small places, anchored by Huc-A-Poos. You won't find a better bang for your buck, and their pizza is no joke.
This rental is designed for anywhere from our usage to a full-on small family reunion/large close-friend group. There are three queen beds, with all new mattresses from the feel of them, plus a pull-out, a glider for rocking little ones, etc. I'm sure someone else with kids will have better input, but I can't imagine they'd be disappointed with what the owner has supplied.
Locally, we ate at Huc-A-Poos, Chamaco's and Zunzibar's. They are all basically across the street from the house.
It's a very quick drive to Savannah, and we enjoyed a bunch of dog-friendly places there: brunch (Clary's, B. Matthew's, Collins Quarters), dinner (The Vault).
We've stayed at quite at a lot of places using VRBO/HomeAway in multiple locations (SSI, Tybee, etc), always with pets.
I'll end with this; the owner of this home is hands down the best we've ever come across.
Rent this place with no worries.
P.S. The view off the deck is so relaxing, and it changes with the tide.

We had a great stay. The view from the patio was so tranquil and the wind chimes relaxing. We did yoga on the patio. Had evening barbecues and went on a dolphin tour. Visted Savannah, fort Pulaski and the beach. Time for reflection in our family after a great loss.

Our family has rented numerous houses on VRBO, and we enjoyed all of them. But we found Serenity to be the most completely furnished home of them all. Everything that we needed was there; the home was spotlessly clean; and the back deck was simply amazing. We all spent hours on the back porch, fascinated by the views of the marsh and the countless birds.
Tybee Island offers many fun restaurants, and the kids really enjoyed the beach. But for my wife and I, the marsh views were simply the best part of the Island. We're already planning a return trip.

We have stayed at Serenity on summer vacation for the past four years. We love the house! Love having coffee in the morning on porch overlooking the marsh. The house is spacious and very comfortable. The owner Mike, is awesome! He wants to be sure that everything is perfect there for guests! You cannot go wrong renting this house.

Serenity was the best possible location for our family vacation. It was such a Blessing to spend time together in this very special home. The consideration and thoughtfulness of the owner throughout the entire property made our stay more enjoyable than any place we have visited. We are all so thankful and counting the days till we can return!

Serenity is exactly as named and described. The property is beautifully located with a more than 180 degree view of the marsh and no neighbors. The Strawberry Moon Tide was incredible. We were waterfront. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening cocktails on the back porch overlooking the marsh. The only time the TV was on was our first night movie. That speaks volumes about the setting. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked dinner in every night after our daily adventures. The beds were all comfortable. Savannah is an easy ride and a perfect day trip. We enjoyed Byers Beach, North Beach, and South Beach. Each has its own personality. Having Chamacos, Zunzibar and HucaPoos within walking distance was wonderful. Huca Poos is just about the best pizza ever. Zunzibar has Happy Hour from 5-7 and then nice local music from 7-10. Perfect place to hang out. Tybee is a magical place.

Serenity is the perfect name for this place. We spent a lot of time on the deck relaxing and enjoying the peace. Lots of restaurants close enough to walk to. Host was very receptive and even gave us farm fresh eggs for the week. Beach was just a little further walk than we thought, but still very do-able. House itself is very spacious. We enjoyed our time on Tybee Island very much, hard to go back to reality.

Thank you, Mike, for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home on Tybee. We especially enjoyed the quiet mornings on the porch, and watching the lightning off in the distance in the evening. The house was very comfortable for the 6 of us. And even though we didn’t cook there, it was very well stocked with the basics. We especially loved Sundae Cafe and Seawolf restaurants. Hug a poos was fun for drinks.
Hope to visit again soon!!

We loved staying here. Great set up in the house for us (2 adult couples) , well stocked kitchen and beautiful view from back porch. Be warned that though it's a short walk to a beautiful beach, there is a loud bar across the street and another about to open. You can hear the noise from these at night sometimes (though it cut off at 10pm) and you have to pretty much walk by at least one of them to get to the beach.
If you're ok with that, you want an amazing view from the huge back porch and an otherwise extremely peaceful place, book it!

We stayed here for a month, and it was really a fantastic find! We wanted a place where we could work from home and not feel like we were missing out by not leaving the property, the privacy and view with the large deck provided that. When we did want to go somewhere, the location was perfect for local and day trip access. The house was well stocked with kitchen utensils, pots, dishes, etc that we needed to cook most of our meals at home. Our dog absolutely loved laying out on the deck all day. The couch was the most comfortable that we have ever experienced (boy do we miss that couch)! We would definitely rent from Mike again!

We love staying on the marsh! The view is incredible and the house is clean and comfortable. We can walk to the coffee shop and to restaurants, so convenient. The house has a great kitchen that is stocked with everything we could possibly need. 5 stars for sure!

Plenty of room indoors and out -- large deck overlooking the marshes! -- large master bedroom, two others. Fireplace and "fake logs" added a special homey touch for the cooler weather! Big kitchen, fully equipped; laundry; ping pong, and enough yard to teach our grandkids Duck on a Rock (which inspired the game of basketball!). Next door and across the street were plenty of shops and Huc-a-Poos famous pizza!

It’s worth repeating…This was the best location in Tybee! Located right on the marsh with no obstructed view. Across the street was the only coffee shop and so many adorable shops, as well as a few restaurants. Only minutes from Savannah (approximately 15 miles).
The house had everything we needed. We spent most of our time on the beautiful porch. The sunrise and sunsets were amazing!

Clean property with spectacular views of the marsh. Quiet location away from a lot of hustle and bustle, yet close enough to walk to shops and beach on north side of the island. House is well-equipped, and it was a very peaceful place to be for a short week!

This was an awesome home!! The owners have done a wonderful job making sure it feels like a home away from home. The house sits on a beautiful lot. The home is charming inside. Magical Marsh Moments
The house was spacious, clean and very well equipped for everything we needed or wanted. There was plenty of room for lounging inside but we found ourselves outside most of the time enjoying the glorious marsh view. At high tide we could launch our kayaks right from the property. We were fortunate to be there during a full moon. Magnificent!

A little bit of paradise in Georgia
Six retired adults spent a marvelous two weeks at this special home. The house was perfect and the setting was private and relaxing. We had everything we needed and so much more. Mike was so responsive and helpful. He answered all our questions and we knew he was available if we needed anything. Tybee Island and Savannah offered us so many opportunities…great food, biking, boating, beach walks, history, shopping, theater, museums, etc. etc. etc. but it was always wonderful to come back “home” to Serenity.
We highly recommend this amazing property!

Restful and regenerating .
The comfortable house, Serenity is just that. We stayed here in low season. The changing views of the tidal marshes are beautiful and the unobstructed views of the house make you feel like you’re far away from it all. The location is a nice walk to the North end of Tybee Island where the light house is, and super close to restaurants and cafes. Although there is some road noise, the views quickly take your mind off it. Mike is a gracious and responsive host.

Perfect!
We could not have asked for a better vacation rental for our family! The view of the marshes from the wraparound deck was breathtaking—we loved watching the scene change with the tide.
Inside, the house had everything we could possibly need, including a very spacious kitchen, and also ping pong table in the garage, which was a huge hit with the teenagers.
The location was perfect, as well—just a short walk to great food, cute shops, and coffee.
Already looking forward to our next trip!

Fantastic location for a relaxing island get away
We loved our time at "Serenity" and wished it could have been longer. The house is nicely furnished with all the amenities you could want in a vacation home. Everything was clean and in good order. The owner was super nice and helpful with lots of great tips on how to get the most out of our time.
