We loved being slightly out of the village but still within walking distance of it. Thank you for a lovely stay

What a treat to stay in such a cute and unique home and with such an incredible view. Our entire weekend was plagued by intense rain but somehow staying here still made it magic. Couple this with amazing home owner/ppty manager and you can’t go wrong!

A perfect little getaway spot in a very beautiful and relaxing place. Our kids particularly loved the little stone beach opposite, and spent hours looking for shells and crabs. Will be back.

Lovely cottage and setting. Location perfect. Wonderful way to finish our southern odyssey before heading home to Wellington.

We loved the cottage. Right up our alley. 1940s 50s flavour. Plenty of beds, just needed 2. Did pay extra in cash for bedding, but that was okay. We stayed several days and made some day trips. Pick up some groceries before you go.
Nice front porch to sit on right across from the water on a quiet dead-end road.
Clean, neat and tidy.
Part of the appeal was that it was like the Hou s e I grew up in. Brought back lots of memories.

A great 100 year old cottage that was cozy, warm, and comfortable. Just what we needed as a base to visit our old family haunts after 20 years.

Great location and comfortable low key historic home

We made a spur of the moment decision to go - because we really needed a break, and we knew this property having stayed there before, and we love the quiet location. Because of our rush we were too late for the linen to be ready so we brought our own. We were happy to meet the owner who popped in briefly and we could ask about charging the electric car.

just love beside the sea

The cottage was so great for our stay in Akaroa. Everything was neat and clean and we loved the whole atmosphere of it. It is so handy to Akaroa township, a short walk to the Gardens of Tane, the lighthouse, and the Britomart monument. Very sunny position. Can highly recommend.
