Only a kilometre away from all the conveniences of Huonville, the ‘capital’ of this famed apple, cherry and berry growing region, a mere 5, 10 or 15 minutes away from the villages of Ranelagh, Franklin and Cygnet, and a vast array of local wineries, quality food producers, providores, local bakeries, cafes, restaurants and farmers markets.
Hobart, Australias smallest capital city (with some disproportionately big attractions), is a 35 minute drive away (the airport is approximately 50 to 60 minutes)
GETTING AROUND.Hobart and the surrounding regions are best explored by car. Huonville is a short walk away (1km) where buses are available to Hobart and beyond. Bicycle hire is available locally in Huonville.

This place was beautifully designed nd constructed and a great space to relax in after a day of exploring the local area. It was very well postioned. Great kitchen to work in or Huonville was just down the road for eating out if you don't want to cook. Very private. Just perfect.

From the moment we opened the door we felt extremely lucky to be staying in such a creative, beautiful space . Quality interior features that are both luxurious and practical. Fire had been lit for us and we could have just stayed in the shed for our whole stay.

Phenomenal
Ron and Yvonne’s wonderful property was the most unique stay we had in Tasmania. From the moment we walked in we were blown away, it was even more stunning than photos could capture. Great communication and personal touches. We will all be recommending this stay to everyone and can’t wait to be back someday hopefully soon!

Amazing Barn Conversion
We had a lovely time. Very comfortable and well equipped. Really enjoyed walking and bike riding. Thanks so much for the scrabble set - Ron kindly lent one to us as we forgot ours. Can’t believe we met the man who illustrated The Bunyip of Berkeley Creek. We love that book.

Like living in a movie (in a good way!)
What a stunning property. Easily the most amazing rental we have ever stayed. We didn’t want to even go out, just hang around the amazing 360 degree fire, stare at Ron’s Gorgeous artwork, the red bathroom on a stage and cook in the huge chefs kitchen. Every little thing was considered ... we will definitely be back.

A beautiful big shed!
The BIG SHED was stylish, hugely comfortable and a great place to relax in the peace and quiet for a few days. The kitchen is very well equipped and all the linen and towels are lovely. Thanks also to Ron and Yvonne for the thoughtful touches.

Outstanding property and experience - not to be missed!
BIG.SHED.HOUSE. is a gorgeous place to stay. It is super comfortable in every way and the manner in which it is designed and decorated is exceptional. The owners have put so much thought into this property - it is stunning physically and aesthetically but also the provisioning at the property includes so many extras you feel very at home and well looked after. We stayed here for 3 days and very much wished we could have stayed longer. The property is well located, making it easy to access all parts of the Huon Valley and is beautifully quiet. The bathroom is a fabulous surprise ! Every day we looked forward to returning to the property and our evenings were very special here. We would love to return in winter as well - there is a beautiful log fire that you can turn to face any direction - all items in the house are quality ones. Thank you for a fabulous stay - we appreciated everything about BIG.SHED.HOUSE.

A beautiful space in a secluded location
This beautifully designed former barn makes for a perfect getaway in the Huon Valley. There’s plenty of space to lounge around in the wonderful open space of the main room if you desire but it’s so easy to get to other parts of the region too. Spent a fantastic couple of nights there and would absolutely recommend this to anyone who asked me where to stay in this area.

Great place for weekend away
The property suited what we needed perfectly. It had a great atmosphere and allowed us to have some time away and explore the Huon area.

Amazing!!!!
We had the best weekend at the Big Shed House and would highly recommend it. I am one of those fussy (very, very) people who always seem to be disappointed when it comes to booking accommodation away from home. This place did not disappoint, the bed and linen were amazing and the kitchen was very well stocked with beautiful ceramics, appliances and furniture. By the way the fireplace turns 360 degrees, so wherever you are in the shed you can enjoy the ambience and warmth. We had a wonderful stay, thank you.

Understated luxury
We had a wonderful stay at the Big Shed House. It was so well appointed and comfortable. After all, who wouldn't love to curl up on the couch with a fire blazing in the background! We didn't want to leave and greatly appreciated the amount of effort put into making us feel at home. It was clear to us that you spent much time and effort restoring the apple shed. We fell in love with all the quirky upcycled materials and loved that the history of the building was left. No doubt we will be back again very soon.

Perfection...
I don’t think I can say enough about this experience. The building is beautifully designed to capture historical references and gorgeous modern design. So clever. Well done to the architect and whoever did the interior design work. Everything works perfectly. The furnishings are perfect from the wonderful long table on wheels to the wooden lounges on the deck, the beautiful bath and rain shower, to the clever fireplace. The owners have been incredibly thoughtful about anticipating guest needs. We have stayed in a lot of cabins/apartments etc over the years but never found one so well supplied in terms of kitchen, bathroom, linen and helpful local info. We left Australia to live in Europe for 5 years and then the US for 5 years. Our first night sitting out on the deck sipping local wine and eating local cheese listening to the cockatoos with the flowering gums near the deck was just exquisite. As others have said there is so much to do in this beautiful part of Tasmania. We did not meet the owners but had a lot of email communications beforehand and found them to be delightful and very helpful. (We actually stayed January 2018 - the form does not allow for 2018 yet.)

Amazing experience
We stayed here in July 2017, and the whole experience was amazing. The house is beautiful, extremely clean and second to none. We found the owners Ron & Yvonne very pleasant to deal with, and they went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The location is great too, with lots to do in the area. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

Magical stay in the Huon Valley
My husband and I had a wonderful time at Big Shed House. We never met our hosts Ron and Yvonne, but they were very prompt in writing to us to give us directions to the property and answering any questions we had. The pictures don't do this space justice - no detail had been spared to ensure we had the most comfortable stay. Our particular favourite was the wood-burning stove that rotates a full 360 degrees, so you can admire the fire from the kitchen, the living room or the bathtub! We can't wait to come back.

Excellent Property
Fantastic place to stay about 25min out of Hobart. The house was perfect for our weekend getaway. Once arriving it was even better than it looks in the photos. It has all quality furnishings and everything you need for your stay. The fireplace was stocked and ready to go when we arrived. We would highly recommend Big Shed House and would definitely stay here again.
