The property was spacious. There was plenty of room for everyone. The family loved it. I only wish we could have spent more time enjoying the house. Keep in mind that you are in the mountains, even with the houses around you, so expect to see nature in and around the house. However, the mornings were extremely pleasant, especially sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee watching the sun rise.

The pictures do a good job of showcasing the property. The room upstairs is sort of loft style with no door so need to be mindful of that if looking for complete privacy in that bedroom. Be aware of strict no smoking policy as we were not aware of that and surprised we couldn’t smoke cigars on the porch which is disappointing as it would have been very nice. Kitchen is well stocked and variety of games for the kids. The property could use new towels as we felt like we had to wash them everyday due to slight odor. Location in proximity to Snowmass and Sunlight was perfect. Overall for the price it’s a good property. We looked at other properties that might have been better but the price was higher as well.

Great location, place was stocked with everything needed. Easy in & out, host communication was concise. Would stay again!

The property manager was amazing, very communicative and helpful. We didn’t complain about any of these things during our stay because we were trying to enjoy ourselves and not deal with any disruption during our short time in Basalt:
So many spiders.
So many bugs in general. The binder says it’s normal because of the time of year but my mother lives on the same street a block down and my cousin lives a street away and neither have any issues with bugs or spiders.
The day we checked in the bathtub had 4 of these bugs and a spider.
Only 1 lightbulb in the basement “bedroom” works.
Multiple shades in the living room/kitchen were broken down.
The primary bedroom on the third floor has no door. I checked multiple times to see if I had missed where that was noted in the listing but it’s not mentioned.
The bunk “room” in the basement is not a bedroom. It’s an open floor plan to a tiny kitchen that is for the owners and a table.
The house has so much potential but needs a lot of help, it’s a little sad and creepy.
We had a good experience with the property manager and I know a lot of the time there’s only so much they can do.

Great outdoor and indoor space. We had 3 couples and each of us had our own floor and bathroom. Lots of privacy! Enjoyed the grill, back patio and gardens too

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home. The home is clean, beds are super comfortable, kitchen has everything you need. The views of the valley are amazing, easy drive to skiing, shopping and dinning. The home has plenty of room for a bigger family (we had 4 kids and 2 adults). Decor is fun and the host is very responsive. We will stay here again and again on our annual trip to the Aspen area.

Every year a group of us connect in the area for a golf weekend. We selected this home for its ability to accommodate all of us (7 total) and it's proximity to all the courses we like to play. There have been numerous upgrades to this home - from the modern kitchen to updated bathrooms and lots of room to roam on the property. Great place and great value!

Great property. Ample seating for six of us in the living room and the deck. Kitchen well supplied and ample. With the bedrooms on separate floors each family had their own space.

Don't let the photos fool you
Where to start...This home was invaded with spiders everywhere INSIDE the home. The kitchen table is not very stable and there is even a note to be careful if you extend it! floors are unlevel which made it hard for our elderly mother along with the sofas being too low for her to be able to sit. The basement kitchen was not useable with notes not to use it. The ceiling is peeling in the lower shower. Only bathroom on main floor is shared with a bedroom. House is very choppy. They have a key for a lock box to get in - just made it a bit more difficult coming and going - would be much better if it was a keyless entry system for guests. We didn't spend much time in the home, so we made it work. Positives - The landscaping was beautiful!

A nice place that could use some improvements
The house looks a bit better in photos than in reality. Much of the place is very nice - a modern spacious kitchen, a nice master suite upstairs, a light-filled dining area. The living room was OK. Be aware that the lower floor is not quite up to par. The separate bedroom down there is very sparse - no furnishings, the lighting not great, the closet full of "owner" stuff. The baseboard (water based) heating in that downstairs bedroom created very loud bangs all night - and the management company came to turn off the heat there and put two small electric heaters in the bedroom. My wife detected a certain smell in the lower level. And of course one has to pass through the bunkbed room to get to the bathroom or to go upstairs (we did not use the bunkbeds), Upstairs, there were a couple of largish sections of plaster that are damaged, flaked off. A section of wood is missing from the front screen door (leaving an opening about 6x8 inches). A couple of faucets are loose. The deck had not been shovelled and was unusable. The drive was icy, requiring great care walking to the cars. The management company was very responsive, but obviously they were not about to fix all the things I just mentioned immediately. So, we enjoyed it well enough, but it was overpriced for the overall quality.

Great place for a gathering
We visited with another family for a shared ski trip. There was plenty of space for two sets of adults and five kids, amd the pre-teen was excited to have a separate room from the younger kids (in bunks). There is a lot of space for gathering with a nice kitchen to prepare your own meals. The location is great, you are right in Basalt but don't have to drive through town, the drive for skiing is pretty quick and this would be a great location for the summer to go hiking or out towards Reudi for some paddling. The beds were towards the firms side but still comfortable (I usually sleep terribly in rentals because beds are so hard and I slept well!). The only thing that would have been nice would have been for the rental company to make sure the renters key was in the outside box (it was hanging inside the house), but they also provided instructions for a back up key so it was fine. We will definitely come back.

Great Experience
The five of us really enjoyed our 10 days in this spacious, quiet, clean, and well-located house. We particularly liked happy hour out on the large deck with views of the mountains across the valley, the very well equipped and modern kitchen, and the easy walk down to Basalt restaurants and shops. The large yard was beautiful, and some of us really enjoyed having coffee on the porch swing, listening to the birds and feeling the sun coming through the many trees. We had a maintenance issue (no heat!), but the rental company and property manager quickly responded and resolved that. We would return

Great House for Family & Friends
We had a great stay, the house layout really worked well for a multi-family group. The house is in excellent shape, and the renovated kitchen was even better than expected. The patio and protected yard(s) also were great for both the adults and kids.

Nice place but definitely needs some maintenance
This property could be so much nicer, perhaps an inspection needs to be done to assess what's needed. Definitely not a place to stay in the summer without A/C. It would have been tolerable if we could have opened all the windows (many have screens missing, cranks are broken off, blinds are broken). The kitchen is spacious but half of the stove burners aren't working, and the grill is not operable either - hard to really have a nice group gathering without those appliances working. Enjoyed the location but can't justify the price with all the issues in the home. Disappointed.

Quick ski trip
Check-in was easy and directions were clear. Nice home as described and a fully stocked kitchen. Bring pods for Nespresso or Kurig as there is not a drip coffee pot. Maintaining the temperature throughout the home was a bit difficult but we managed just fine since it was cool enough at night to cool the upper master. A few of the power shades didn’t work and the awnings on the deck appeared to be broken.

Positive, they were responsive to needs and check in out were fine.As for so so moments, you really don't feel welcomed to a near 1K a night property. No arrival gift, no coffee to go with the Nespresso maker, no bottled water. No welcome wine. The wifi went out and the directions asked for us to restart the modem, which is not accessible. So we did not have wifi for 1/3 of our stay, but...after I got enough complaints, I had to restart the modem by turning off the power @ the home. Oh, Why do you have a Sonos system and it does not work?? You should work on your wiring, it looks like an unqualified person did it. Lastly, thank you, for shoveling the snow, but at 4am...when someone shows up outside of your home with no notice...not good. For the negative, A few bugs, the dishes, were not clean, the knives were clearly dirty. I don't think that much attention is paid to the dishes that are put back. Lastly, Don't ask me to throw other people's trash, that is your job. Outside of that, I would rent here again, I enjoyed the board games that were left in the kitchen.

The house is adorable and cozy and spread out Because of COVID I had a lot of questions and concerns and they were always answered promptly when I would message. We loved the location close to snowmass and the hot springs. Basalt had very good restaurants that were affordable.

Loved it!
We had a wonderful times at Dove Cottage. Unfortunately we broke a window. I am so terribly sorry, but if course we will be responsible for all costs to replace the window. Everyone was very responsive to our needs. Thank you so much! Of course let me know if our deposit does not cover the window. On a more light hearted note, I would have liked a better broom. Thanks so much. Ethel Hutcheson

House can get very warm during the day and takes quite a while to cool down in the evening. Best bed is on top floor, but with the skylight the room brightens up beginning around 5:30. Beds in basement are really hard. Otherwise the house is charming and very well appointed. At about $400/night plus tax, fees etc., bring friends with you!

Great location, but property needs maintenance
Our party of eight loved the location and overall, were pretty pleased. BUT the house needs work. Front screen door wouldn't close, the deck was very dirty with dust and broken branches as well as the table and chairs pretty filthy. Indoors, shades that wouldn't raise or were in bad shape, downstairs shower wouldn't drain, lightbulb burnt out, cobwebs all around, dirty dining room table, floors not cleaned, dead bugs around many areas, and not a single washcloth to be found. We felt like we had to do some cleanup before we could even began to get settled. Definitely left it cleaner than when we first arrived. That was disappointing so hopefully those issues will be resolved for the next guests. One sun shade out on the deck was bungeed closed so we didn't attempt to use the other for shade. Just moved inside. Also, couldn't get the cool to turn on so some of our rooms were pretty hot overnight. And the ceiling fan in the master was hard to operate and we never did get the light turned off. For the amt of money spend, it was somewhat disappointing. But the location is stellar and that's really why we booked it in the first place. One last comment, the check-in time would have been better at 3 PM with check-out at 11 AM or noon. We felt a bit cheated with that also.
