About this house rental

"Sound & SeaDogs Flat" is a great vacation getaway just steps from the beach on one side and the sound on the other! This single story 2 bedroom/1 bath bungalow is pet friendly and has all of the amenities including kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove and dishwasher, open concept dining and living area and a laundry closet with over/under washer dryer. Two bedrooms (Bedroom 1 King bed, Bedroom 2 two Twins) complete the 800 sqft beach getaway.

The 16ft adjoining patio with outdoor dining seating and gas grill provides for relaxing evenings after a day in the sun. Access to an outdoor shower is available. A private paved driveway entrance has room for 3 cars or a combination of car, boat & trailer (
Reservations are for a minimum 3 night stay. Check-in at 4pm, check-out at 10am. This is a Non-Smoking property. Response guaranteed within hours.

Dogs (2 dog max/50 lbs. or less) are allowed with pre-approval and a non-refundable pet deposit. Don't hesitate to inquire about having a larger dog. The pet deposit is $120 per stay.

Crisp linens are included as part of the Cleaning Fee with all beds made upon your arrival. Bath towels, hand towels, washcloths and kitchen towels are set out for you as well. Beach towels are not included and bath towels are not to be removed from the bungalow.

Personal concierge service at check-in and check-out is part of your reservation experience. This service provides you with a single point of contact for questions, maintenance or after-hours emergencies.

There is a deposit of $500 applied only upon inspection for damages at check-out. This is not required upfront. Also any unregistered dogs will result in the $120 pet fee being applied against this deposit.

In addition to the beach and sound that are both ~1 minute walking distance, near-by attractions include Island Water Sports located within walking distance, the North Carolina Aquarium, the Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier and Fort Macon State Park. Activities include biking, jet skis, paddle boarding, fishing, boating, kayaking and miniature golf. Other points of interest include Morehead City and Beaufort attractions.

Local eateries minutes from the bungalow include the Crab Shack and the Anchor Drafthouse for pizza which too offers a local bar experience with water front seating. A fabulous food truck option is Captain’s Kitchen with fantastic seafood options as well as burgers and hotdogs. Don’t be swayed by lines of patrons, it is worth the wait!

This bungalow is single story, great for retired folks or families with children. Great parking and minimal steps to the beach make it very convenient for taking quick trips back and forth to the beach carrying essentials or taking breaks for meals. Lots of room, open floor plan and an outside patio for sunrise coffee or evening cookouts. If you're looking for a quiet relaxing setting with access to both the sound and also a family friendly beach with plenty of room to enjoy the ocean, look for shells, read a book or swim, "Sound & SeaDogs Flat" is the place to stay.

We have stayed at a few places in the area and none of them compare to this bungalow. My husband and I felt completely at home. We loved being able to sit outside on the deck. Our puppers loved it too. Super easy walk to the beach. Everyone in the area was friendly. Kitchen is great and stocked well. Anything else you may need is close by. Will be staying again and again. Will be recommending.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The proximity to the beach was amazing. The pups had wonderful walks on the beach and we saw dolphins one morning! Brian was very helpful. We appreciated the wine provided by the hosts. We definitely will plan a follow up trip.

This is a great little beach cottage. No view of the water but it's very short walk to the beach or the sound. It's right on 58 but we were not bothered by traffic noise. It's a great location on Emerald Isle and it was perfect for our family of 4 and our dog.

The beach can be bustling but not in this little slice of tranquility on the isle! The listing is just as pictured but immaculate. More than enough to cook, a great grill, small deck area and laundry. Bed was comfortable, plenty of towels and good shower along with an outside shower and hose. We really had all we needed! You are close to the road but when inside you really don't hear it. We sat out in the evening and it was still peaceful. Just a short stroll to the beach. Property manager is on top of everything and very quick response to any questions. We have already booked for next year! Best of all the furry friends are welcome too.

The property was very clean & comfortable! The kitchen was well-stocked and we had everything we needed. The walk to the beach is listed as 1 minute, and it honestly is...super easy to get to and because you are on the more narrow side of Emerald Isle, the beach is not crowded at all, but still folks around if you like to socialize. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you to Brian for ensuring we had what we needed! He was very kind and accomodating.

We enjoyed our stay at the bungalow in mid-June. The weather was perfect, so we took advantage of the close beach access every single day. The property is in Emerald Isle but very near Indian Beach, which worked well since we went into Morehead City for the Big Rock Tournament and some other activities. The property itself was a great size and layout for our family for the week. I was glad I thought to pack a drying rack so we had more space to dry our towels and swimsuits. The beds were comfortable, the space was clean, and we all loved getting to use the outdoor house at the "big house." We had a wonderful stay and would truly love to return in the future.

This was the cutest bungalow and was perfect for us. We had everything we needed-kitchen was very well stocked and we enjoyed cooking meals so we did not have to go out. The walk to the beach was a short walk down the shaded path, right to the beach access! We will definitely be back!!

Just what the doctor ordered! The accommodations were quite comfortable. The weather was beyond perfect for early November and we loved the uncrowded beach! The only negative of our trip was that so many of the restaurants that we wanted to try were already closed for the season! It’s sad that full time residents can’t go to the Crab Shack during the winter months! Even the dogs settled in and they loved their walks! Thank you for a sweet place to rest and renew.

The king sized bed was very comfortable—I don’t normally sleep well when I’m away from home but I did here. The couches were also comfortable and the rest of the house suited our needs well. We loved how easy it was to get to the beach! The main things we didn’t like were the shower head and handle—the handle was very hard to control (the water also got extremely hot even when it wasn’t very far toward the hot side) and the shower head was old so not functioning the best. The outdoor shower was actually better than the indoor one. The other thing was that they only supply one roll of toilet paper—I understand not wanting to have a lot available, but I think one extra roll would be a helpful addition. Overall, a great stay!

The property was perfect for our family. It is very close to the beach and the sound- which allows beach days to be less stressful and more relaxing! Early morning fishing was also super convenient due to location. It is very clean and we slept comfortably on the beds. The owners are available and easy to contact. Brian is knowledgeable about things to do in the area which proved to be helpful! We hope to stay again next season! If you need a quiet relaxing getaway this is the place!!

Loved that this rental was dog friendly. It’s often hard to find a vacation rental in a great location that also allows larger dogs. Our girl loves the beach so we could never leave her at home. The rental was very clean and the property manager and owners are very hospitable and great communicators. We hope to visit again next year!

Nice clean property with very easy ocean access. Centrally located on the island for quick trips to the pointe or the fort. Property manager was very accommodating and helpful. Would recommend and will look at a return trip in the future.
