This place is exactly what it says. It is a motel. Nothing fancy about the rooms. Outdated but beds were comfortable, and water pressure was great.
If you are picky the heat is operated by one control not the individual units.

Overall a good hotel, this is an old Route 66 Hotel that shows age but has lots of character. I wanted to try something different for a change and this certainly was worth stopping for. The location was great, easy on and off of my travel path
I did not try the restaurant, I suppose it could have been nice. There are several other eating establishments within a few minutes of the hotel in both directions.
As far as the room, the A/C unit was noisy, but that is part of the "vintage experience" I was expecting so I can not complain.

The place is clean and well maintained.
It could be better if breakfast is served at the restaurant even on weekdays.

Asked for more pillows, didn't get them

The price was the cheapest we could find and we know why now.
The motel is extremely close to the train tracks and you will hear a train all through the night. The room is extremely small. The supplies are very limited (blankets, towels, pillows, etc.) there are limited outlets (one) for charging devices. The one that is available did not hold the plug, the plugs would fall right out of the outlets. The shower is tiny and the shower head was busted. The room doesn’t really look or feel clean and they do not provide housekeeping during your stay. We stayed in room 112 for two nights. The fluorescent light in the “desk area” stopped working while we were there. You cannot control the heat of your own room. It is set for the building. WiFi is available but we did not use it because the check in staff claimed it was not good.

room heat is not controllable. 1 steam heater for everyone. the room was 90+ degrees and no way to change it.

The price was unbeatable! The heat was all throughout the room because there was a furnace with vents along the wall and even in the bathroom! There was a flat screen in the room so the kids could watch TV, the water for the shower was hot, and the microwave and fridge helped out so you don't have to eat out a lot.
Beds are a little on the harder side

Staff are very friendly. The room was very clean
No coffee pot. Very basic clean room

good room and water heat
Shower door needs replacing, could barely open it.
No curtain on bathroom window, people can see right in.
Metal carpet transition strip had screws sticking out, almost cut feet on them.
Place is very dated, needs updates.

Location not bad, staff/owner polite.
Had to use flashlight on phone to find a light that worked, couldn't control heat in room. No fridge, no microwave, everything old and outdated for how expensive room was. Yes you can hear trains, but we turned on TV to tune out. Could hear neighbors through walls. Bathroom had hair on wall and around sink so we decided not to shower there.

Mexican restaurant in parking lot is a nice chance to have a good meal and margarita without drinking and driving.

Convenient location. On site restaurant was great.
Some shady folks staying there, apparently long term tenants. The “BBQ, play area, and smoking area” just an old filled in pool with scrub brush and a few chairs.

This motel is conveniently located for visiting the Grand Canyon (a 1.5 hour drive, but there aren’t great options closer to the park) and unique. It’s refreshing to stay somewhere with character and history without sacrificing cleanliness and service. The charm of this motel completed our Grand Canyon experience. Staff were warm and helpful. Wish there were more places like it!

Convenient location for travel and old Flagstaff.
Friendly and accommodating staff.
Authentic. Ok, the place is dated, but who cares? It added to the retro feel. (It is due to be upgraded shortly, and while that will no doubt be nice, I hope they manage to keep some of the old fashioned feel)
Really good Mexican restaurant on site.
Clean and really comfortable beds, which is the most important thing as it ensured a great night’s sleep.

Booked at an original Route 66 motel due to its location, price and for nostalgic reasons. It satisfied on all criteria. Sure it was a bit dated and in need of some upgrading, but that was of little concern to us. The welcome was friendly, the room clean, and the beds very comfortable. It ticked all the right boxes for us, and I’m glad we stayed here.
And the good Mexican restaurant on site was a bonus.
The rooms need a bit of upgrading (which we were told is pending), but this just added to the retro atmosphere, and wasn’t really important to us in comparison to comfort, convenience and a warm welcome.
