About Cygnet ( we're 2 minutes out of Cygnet centre )
Cygnet is a small town of approximately 1000 people, situated in the Huon Valley 45 minutes southwest of Hobart and 12 minutes out of Huonville. Cygnet is in the heart of the Huon Valley, an apple, cherry and berry growing district. Over the past thirty years it has successfully mixed alternative lifestyle and visitors activities such as woodturning, shops with interesting local crafts, lovely cafes and diners and holiday cottage accommodation with more traditional dairy cattle, orchards, mixed farming and sawmilling. It is an area of such richness that the recent SBS cooking/lifestyle series Gourmet Farmer showcased both the area and its presenter, Matthew Evans's, love of local fresh produce and cuisine designed to make enthusiastic foodies go weak with delight. Matthew Evans set up his Fat Pig Farm just on the out skirts of Cygnet and his lunches and cooking classes are real popular.
Every second weekend of January Cygnet hosts the famous Cygnet Folk Festival a real drawcard for any music lover, we host visitors from all over that attend this festival yearly.
Cygnet also started a French Inspired weekend once a year, due to the French connections with admiral Bruni D'Entrecasteaux naming the bay that runs up to Cygnet Port des Cygnets noir due to the high amount of black swans that reside in this area.
Your accommodation is warm and inviting.
The barn is an original apple barn that has been lovingly restored with an eclectic colonial interior.
There are 4 spacious beautiful bedrooms ( sleeps 9), both master bedrooms have lux comfortable king size ensembles , the other two bedrooms both have two single ensembles. There is plenty of room for cots or a fold out bed if needed. All beds have electric blankets.
The barn has 2 bathrooms one with waterfall shower and one with normal shower and a full kitchen to create some magic with all the local produce from the area.
It's a great place to stay in for the day with a good book on the couch, watch one of our up to date movies or play a nice board game. We have all of these available and keep them updated. There is an enclosed garden area with small playground, BBQ facilities, out door games and dad has not been forgotten we got fishing rods and plenty of good fishing spots ready for you.
Minimum two night bookings / special rates for long term stays ( over 3 weeks )
We supply a welcome parcel of breakfast provisions to start of your stay.

We had a wonderful stay and loved the house. It's so well renovated and thoughtfully designed. It was also so warm and cosy with a real log fire and heating for the chilly mornings. We especially loved the animals and farm tour, thank you so much. The breakfast food and nibbles were greatly appreciated too. You couldn't have done more. :)

The property was everything and more than described and in photos. Jolande and Matthew were incredibly friendly and helpful. The barn had everything you could want. The animals were adorable.
There were 2 couples and 1 single adult and we loved everything available to us.
This was a most interesting barn, warm and full of wonderful fixtures and furnishings. The beds were so comfortable.
We loved the small town of Cygnet too and would highly recommend the area of wineries and apple cider cellar doors.

The Barn is a fabulous place to stay whether you are a party of 2 or 10. It exceeded all expectations, generously equipped kitchen ,funky bathrooms, spacious living room and bedrooms, sun drenched terrace with stunning views across cherry & apple orchards. We made friends with the goats (especially the kid escapee) & hens - no sightings of platypus this time but plenty more to distract you on a stroll to the dams. Cygnet & surrounding area is such a wonderful place to visit - kayaking, wine tasting, Cygnet Bakery, shopping are only a few things we got up to! Highly recommend, we will be back!

A wonderful short family farm stay
Matt and Jo are wonderful and very helpful hosts.
The location of the farm was great, only a short drive to Cygnet, 20 mins to Kettering and 10mins to Huonville, and just across the road from Pagan Cider cellar doors (and by the way, we highly recommend their cherry cider... yum!)
We have 3 kids, ages 10, 12 and 14. All 3 absolutely enjoyed their stays and time with the animals. And yes, there were heaps of animals to feed and play with.
From hairy highland cows (and a very friendly bull), sheep, goats, pigs, gorgeous alpacas, ducks, and fluffy hens. There is also a platypus or two, but we did not get a chance to see it in our stay.
would highly recommend the stay to any family with kids who love animals. we'll definitely try to make it back next time we are in Tassie.

Stay was clean and tidy, everyone loved the animals on the farm. Location good as a base to explore down south.

Great place for family
We had a lovely stay at Eden Farm Stay – The accommodation was great for our family of 4, we had a great outdoor eating area we used when the weather was good. There were lots of little additions inc. needle and thread, books, DVDs to make it feel like a home away from home and some complementary food items on arrival to help get you started that was great esp. as we arrived late at night. Matthew gave great feeding tours with our boys that allowed them to interact and feed the animals that was great. There was an area of the farm that has a bunch of fossils that made for a great morning exploring for the family. There was a fire pit we used one evening to toast marshmallow and a place Matthew showed us where the Pademelon could be spotted early evening. We borrowed the farms fishing gear one day to go down to one of the jetties for a fish. We had a week in the area and there was more than enough to keep us busy for all that time. A great area to visit and a great choice of accommodation.

Wonderful stay!
We loved our 2 night stay at Eden! Matt and Jo and so welcoming and wonderful hosts. The cottage was snug but perfect - even with 2 adults and 4 kids! It was the perfect place for two best friends to catch up on 6 years and have the kids entertained. We absolutely will be back.

Friendly Farmstay
Our stay at the farm was simply lovely. Jo and Matt are such friendly hosts. Accommodation was very comfortable and had everything we needed including breakfast supplies. Fresh eggs were a great bonus. Lovely surroundings. 2 min drive into Cygnet village. Central to exploring Huon Valley. Our 11 year old LOVED the stay - especially having Pancakes the rabbit living in her yard and getting to feed all the animals. The animals are all close by and it is lovely to wander around the property. I would highly recommend Eden Farmstay.

Comfortable Farmstay!
Overall a very nice Farmstay with lots of animals for both adults and children to see and feed. Both Jo and Matt are good hosts.
We rented both houses for a group of 12 persons. Excellent bedrooms. Only inconvenience is that there are only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet in each house, so that would require some queuing time for a big group in the morning and evening. .:)

So many things to do on and off Eden Stay Farm
Excellent place to spend your holidays. Great accommodation...lovely hosts...and amazing ways to spend your time. We only wished for more time. Highlights were fossil hunting, feeding the many farm animals and for the parents a safe fenced garden are for children to play...plus the goat soap is amazing. Well thought out accommodation, clean, homely and we appreciated the useful provisions. The surrounding area is amazing and has an overwhelming amount of places and activities to discover. Thank you Eden Farm Stay and Cygnet surrounds.

A fantastic getaway in the countryside!
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Farmhouse at Eden Orchard. The house is very good for a large family and has all the necessities you need, including a cosy fireplace and lots of toys and games for the kids. This is a great place to stay for up to a week because it is so spacious and you can easily hang around the farm for a couple of days and just relax and pat the animals. Matt & Jo are so friendly and they really welcomed us to their farm. The kids (and we) loved to join Matt when he was feeding the animals and we had a really good time doing that. We stayed here in the end of May and I can only imagine how fantastic it is here in the spring, summer and early autumn. I wish we could have stayed longer! We highly recommend a stay at Eden Orchard & Farmstay!

Hospitality plus!
We enjoyed three warm, relaxing and peaceful nights at Eden. Matt and Jo were wonderful hosts and gave us lots of advice about local attractions. Meeting the farm animals was great fun, they're so full of character. Eden is located in a very picturesque location, the apple blossoms made it even more special. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Great hosts. Beautiful setting.
We had a lovely, relaxing time over 2 nights at Eden. Matt and Jo were fantastic hosts. The animals were adorable. My partner found a total of 7 chicken eggs that had been laid around the place by the hens, which was a real treat. Fresh eggs for breakfast!
We strolled through the orchards late in the afternoon. Ate fresh sugar plums from the tree growing near the gully. A beautiful, tranquil setting and a great "launchpad" to explore the greater Huon Valley area.
Accommodation was clean, comfortable, and beautifully prepared. Plenty of room to kick back and relax at night.
Highly recommended. Hope to visit again soon!

Peaceful, Welcoming, Relaxing, Heartwarming Stay
We were blessed to have the opportunity to stay 3 nights on Eden Farm Stay - at the end of a very busy 2 weeks holiday in Tasmania. We were so glad that we felt so relaxed there. We were going to go driving more and visit Bruny Island and a few other places - but it was so nice at Eden - we decided to just spend our last day in the House at Eden. Matt & Jo were very welcoming an could not do enough for us. We went to feed the animals every afternoon, with Matt. We got to see the Pigs, Chooks (Chickens), Turkeys, Cattle, Goats and Alpaca - being fed. The highlight was watching Matt feed the pigs - buckets of strawberries. The pigs just loved the strawberries - very sweet. The Highland Cattle with their little calves were very precious too. Our fondest memory would be having a lovely mother hen and her family of chickens - come to our front door - and knock with her beak - to ask for food. We also had the Male Turkey - all puffed up - knock on our door - asking for food. We also enjoyed feeding carrots etc to the 2 resident rabbits - very cute & lovely. The house we stayed it was very warm - and well equipped with everything we could want for. Everything was just lovely & warm & comfortable. We wish we had more time to stay there. So if you want a really nice Farm Stay to stay on - go to Eden Farm Stay. You will feel so relaxed. Eden Farm Stay is also quite close to Hobart, Bruny Island and other places. We went on an amazing drive to the bottom of Tasmania to Southport via Dover and Franklin - one day. That was very picturesque. All in all Eden is a wonderful place to stay. I would recommend it. :)
