We loved our vacation at Camp Baumann. The house was spacious and roomy yet cozy at the same time. So fun and unique and comfy spots for the whole family inside and outside on the multiple decks and docks. Loved the kayak and paddle boards, hot tub, fire pit - you name it. Steve was an excellent host. He was very responsive to my many questions and requests for recommendations. All 11 of us had a great time.

Simply put, this property surpassed our expectations. An amazing home (camp) on a beautiful, quiet lake. Embden Pond has some of the clearest water we've ever seen a New England lake have. Just what the doctor ordered if you are looking for a true escape with family/friends. Accommodations were top notch, and the pool table was a wonderful bonus. Days were spent fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding and using the great swim/dive dock. Took day trips to white water rafting (Kennebec River) and zip lining and hiking (Sugarloaf). Owners were responsive and excellent to deal with. Would highly recommend this property.

The home was large, with plenty of seperate areas for our group of 10. Home is deffinitly.set up for large groups - plenty of seating, cookware, towels, ect. Two great docs plus floating swim platform. We used all the water toys - 2 SUP, 2 kayaks and a canoe. In addition, rented a pontoon boat for 4 days. Dont let the word "pond" fool you, Embden Pond is a sizable lake. Steve, the owner, was very very responsive with all questions. Would highly recommend.

This was our second year and Steve does a great job with this rental. The house is pristine, well stocked and the property is amazing. We had incredible weather this year and the lake was amazing. We also rented a boat from Port Harbor Marine which was really fun. We had 13 people stay at the house and it was more than enough room. Not much going on in the surrounding towns but if you are looking for a place to just relax at for a week, this is the place for you. We will be back.

We had an amazing week at Camp Baumann on Embden Pond that was accompanied by one of the best weather weeks of the Summer. The house and location were impeccable and everything you could wish for. With a pontoon boat rented from Maine Boat and the kayaks and paddleboats provided at the house, we spent a large portion of our days on the lake. We loved everything about the home, from the great room to the large bedrooms and especially the outdoor living area. We took the kids on a short hike to Reed Brook Falls with its cascading falls. Steve was very helpful and always available to answer any questions. At the end of the week, my 8 year old nephew said he stay there forever. Camp Baumann is by far and away the top vacation rental we have stayed at and look forward to returning in the near future!

We came to Camp Baumann for an after-Christmas getaway and it was absolutely lovely. The house is huge, and so fun and quirky and personalized-feeling. We had everything we needed, and enjoyed our four days of lounging around in front of the fireplace, in the hot tub, playing pool, and watching movies on the huge TV set. The kitchen was perfectly stocked and organized. We were supposed to come with another family but they had to stay home due to Covid, but there would have been plenty of space for two families to have their own spaces, even though it didn't feel too big for just the four of us. Can't recommend it highly enough!

My family came from all over...California, Virginia and Florida to spend time together in Maine. Embden Pond is such a beautiful lake and this house was wonderful. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. The kitchen was so well equipped......we had everything we needed to cook big meals every night. We had a great time!!!

Our family of 10+ thoroughly enjoyed our week at Camp Baumann. The house itself is unique (in a good way), with lots of space to spread out, the pond (it’s really a small lake) was lovely…big enough but still relatively quiet, and the outdoor space is truly remarkable. The owner was always available to help deal with any minor issues that arose.

We loved the property. We found that the place had just about everything that we needed, except a bluetooth speaker :). I had a question or two on the first day and the host was very attentive and answered them right away. We had two families and a friend stay with us, which was a total of 10 people. We could have easily had 15 people in the house. The place is huge. The great room, or bear den as we called it is great at night for large groups and games. We rented a boat for the week through harbor marine and it worked out great. Lots of great memories at this place and it was only our first time. We will for sure be rebooking.

Our l family of eight adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was better than described. So much space for all of us to relax and play. We enjoy the every bit. Steve is truly a ‘super’ host and was very responsive both before and during our stay. My only question is “is it too soon to go back”?

We had a wonderful week . The house is beautiful and well appointed. Lots of space to spread out, great kitchen . Outdoor space is exceptional with plenty of seating, hot tub and view of the lake. Steve the owner was very helpful and accessible. The area is quite remote but great for a peaceful getaway on a beautiful lake!

We rented this beautiful house for my husband's 50th birthday. His friends came from far and wide to celebrate with us. We had a fantastic time, and the home was perfect for our group of 15. The kids loved playing pool and watching sports on the giant TV. The adults loved gathering around the fireplace having conversations. Although the weather was cold and there was quite a snowstorm, we were warm and happy in the house. We skated on Embden Pond and enjoyed the sound of the ice singing at night. Even the hot tub was enjoyed in the cold! We even had a catered meal delivered from Alice and Lulu's at the base of Sugarloaf. Also, highly recommended.
The property manager was there for any questions we had and assured us that we'd be plowed and shoveled out after the snow. The home has a whole house generator, so we hardly noticed even when the power went out. We did have an issue with the furnace, which was quickly resolved. We never were uncomfortable. The house is about 45 minutes to Sugarloaf and worth the drive to stay at such a beautiful place. We highly recommend it.

Terrific winter getaway in a really cool house! We enjoyed every aspect of our family stay with our grown children and their children. This home was exceptional well appointed with something for everyone! A beautiful well equipped kitchen for the cook, a wonderful great room to watch the Olympics, and plenty of spaced out bedrooms to enjoy a quiet nights sleep. Situated right on the water with a spectacular winter view. Exceptionally clean and wonderfully decorated. Owner is very responsive and accommodating. A real gem!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Embden Pond. We were in town for a family wedding and needed a quite place for a retreat from the wedding chaos. Not only was the house and pond as beautiful as pictured, the leaves were turning and provided an extraordinary landscape. And there was plenty of activities inside and out to keep the family entertained!

Everything is perfect about the house. Steve was so helpful and responsive. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend if you want a quiet off the beaten path lake experience.

This property is amazing. The lake itself is unbelievably gorgeous. We commented all week long in disbelief over how clean, clear, and weed free the water is. We soaked up every moment in that water!! The paddleboards were used a ton as well. Loved the raft to swim or paddleboard out to. Please know for less mobile folks it's not a super easy access to the water. (My whole family, 12, 15, 17 and two in our 40's, had no issues, but my parents, both in their 70's, were not able to access the water, they did enjoy the amazing view, though!) The yard is impeccably maintained. We did use the hot tub once. Plenty of outside seating to enjoy the various areas or dine outside.
The inside of the house surprised us even after reading previous reviews. It was spotless, comfortable, and very spacious! Quite a few stairs to consider if that's an issue for you. Very easy to spread out or come together as a group in this home. We loved relaxing in the great room (or the theater as my mom called it!) at the end of the day.
The owner is super nice, very quick to communicate, and wants you to have a great stay.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was a tough spot to leave!

This is a fabulous house with a great waterfront location. From the cleanliness of the house to the detailed decorating, we thouroughly enjoyed our week. The owner was very attentive and easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend this property.

Okay, so officially Embden is a pond, but somehow “pond” just doesn’t seem to capture the beauty to be found here. The house is beautiful without being pretentious or stuffy. Our family of 7 adults and 3 kids (aged 9-17) had plenty of space to spread out and relax both inside and out. There was also ample room to gather everyone together for meals. The grown ups brought fishing gear and permits and fished off the dock every day. The teens and kids enjoyed the paddle boards, kayaks, and swim dock. Everyone enjoyed the fire pit and s’mores. Aside from the beautiful setting and home, what really makes this property stand out is the attention to detail - all the little things that make you feel like you are in someone’s home, not a generic rental property - beach towels, tissues on the bed stand, candles to use on the patio - just a few little examples. This place is a gem, and we will treasure our memories of the week we spent there.

This property is flat out amazing. The pictures in the listing don't do it justice. Everything that you would need is in the home, I brought things I anticipated needing and was surprised to find them already there. The home is extremely clean, plenty of space for a large family to space out but also provides great spaces for gatherings. The lake is crystal clear, the docks are new and well built, I rented a 22 foot pontoon boat for the week and there was ample space with cleats to tie it up sucurely. I brought my ATV and was surprised to find that if you take a left out of the driveway and go about a 1/2 mile, the road turns to dirt and there are miles and miles of well marked ATV trails. Steve (property owner) is super attentive and responsive, he was extremely accomodating and very nice. This is truly a 5 star property and if you decide to rent it, I assure you that you won't be dissapointed. We hope to come again in the future!

We did a family reunion at Camp Baumann and the house was a great size to accommodate 8 adults and 5 children. The outside space is very spacious and a beautiful spot to relax with lake views. Fun for the whole family with lake activities: canoe, paddle board, kayaks, and a floating swim platform! The great room was also very large and a great spot to gather for movies and sporting events. We loved our stay and felt the house was really spacious to accommodate our group!

The property and the grounds are spectacular. The home is very large and the great room with pool table and massive TV is really impressive. The waterfront dock(s) and outdoor patio's provide plenty of space to enjoy the outside. The hot tub provides a great way to warm-up after a dip in the chilly lake. The lake is crystal clear, beautiful and very quiet.
I have two suggestions for the owners: 1) The kitchen was very well equipped, but it would have been nice to have more space for our own food as there was only one mostly empty cabinet 2) We did use the kayaks and the canoe, but they are not in the best condition.
Overall, I would highly recommend this home!

A group of us came up for Presidents’ Day weekend and had a great time at Camp Baumann. We wanted a fun home base for a Sugarloaf weekend given Covid precautions and restrictions and this house was incredible. There was plenty of room to spread out, between the impressive great room with pool table and massive tv along with the cozier living room with fireplace just off the kitchen. The entryway had cubbies/lockers for ski gear which was a great touch, and the hot tub was outstanding after a long day on the mountain. Steve and his property manager were very responsive and were readily available for any need our group had. Would definitely recommend a stay here and also imagine that this is an incredible summer rental.

This place is unbelievably gorgeous. The photos don’t do it justice. Plenty of room for camaraderie and lots of places to “get away” for quiet time. Of course, beautiful weather contributed greatly!

We had an extended family stay for two weeks and were very happy with this house. The décor is eclectic and amusing, and there is plenty of space inside for everyone. The multiple outdoor decks gave us plenty of options outside too. The lake is great--we swam and kayaked everyday. Definitely would come back.

The house is located in a beautiful area, right on the pond. The view was astonishing. The house is big and had plenty of room for our group and many more. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Our group stayed in Embden for 3 nights over New Years last week. We had an incredible time at the house, it's perfect for a large group of people, plenty of beds and extra space with the great room in addition to the kitchen/living room. Super interesting decor, and not to mention the close proximity of the lake! We enjoyed it so much during the winter, we're hoping to all rebook again for a summer trip! Thank you for having us, we couldn't have been more pleased!

We had an amazing time at this incredible property on Embden Pond. Everything about the house was perfect for our group, from the beautiful kitchen and well-appointed bedrooms to the INCREDIBLE waterfront, complete with dock, kayaks and inflatables. Morning swims, s'mores over the firepit, a soak in the hot tub - we did it all and wished we could have stayed longer!!
