About this house rental
Perched high in the Smokey Mountains above the Blue Ridge Parkway, Wintergreen is a perfect spot for relaxing with friends or for a family gathering. This spacious home in Wintergreen is set back in a lovely copse of trees on the Seventh Fairway of the Devil’s Backbone Golf Course. A ten minute walk through our neighborhood brings you to the Old Appalachian trail where you can enjoy an easy hike along a ridge with spectacular panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley. Five miles down the Blue Ridge Parkway, discover an array of vineyards and tasting rooms, cider mills, small-batch distilleries, craft breweries, antiques, boutiques and much more. Visit Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s beautiful home outside Charlottesville, VA. Every little town in the area surrounding Wintergreen is quaint and historical.
If winter is your favorite time, first snowfall is usually in early November and as soon as there is an accumulation, hiking trails and golf course cart paths turn into cross country ski trails. Downhill skiing usually runs from mid December through March. During the summer enjoy hiking trails and then cool off in our neighborhood pool or head down to Lake Monacan for a day of fun.
The house on Gray Birch Lane is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. With five bedrooms, 3.5 baths and two separate great rooms, this house was made for entertaining. The master bedroom with king bed is on the ground floor and opens onto a large wrap-around deck where you will find rocking chairs, gas fire pit, and a propane barbecue. Upstairs, one bedroom has a king, two bedrooms each have a queen bed and one bedroom has a set of twins. The upstairs great room opens onto an intimate balcony overlooking the golf course.
If you enjoy cooking, then you are in luck. The kitchen is built and stocked for entertaining. In addition to a five burner gas stove and double ovens, you will find amenities like a KitchenAid Ice Cream maker, a KitchenAid Stand Mixer and a Cuisinart food processor. Hate vacation rentals with mothing but dull knives? You will love the professional knife selection. We've got it all!

We have had a number of stays at Wintergreen and leave each time talking about this spectacular setting. This house is the most well-stocked of any I have ever stayed in. Every appliance one could need is in this house. Great kitchen knives too. We enjoyed the hot tub. Communication with the owner was good. Absolutely no complaints. Comfortable beds. Highly recommend.

This home and its location was perfect for my 30th birthday. Home is beautiful and very spacious. We especially loved the perfectly maintained hot tub. The only issue we had was that the internet was down but Kim was very responsive to our concerns and did everything in her power to get it back up and working as soon as possible. She also refunded us some money for the inconvenience. I would book this property again.

Have been renting homes at Wintergreen for several years. This was the best. Immaculate. Great kitchen. Accurate description. All bedrooms comfortable. Firepit and hot tub were great. perfect location for walks and access to hikes and all things Wintergreen. Kim was the best communicator - literally responded in minutes to inquiries. We did not need to contact her much, because she had described the home so well. We already booked a future stay.

Fantastic house right on the golf course. It has everything you will need in the kitchen. Kim is probably the easiest and best host I have worked with over the years. This house never disappoints!

I can’t say enough about this rental experience. This was the first time we booked an entire home for our family. There were 10 of us, ranging in age from 4-60, and all of us were thrilled with the accommodations and the variety of activities to do. The house was spotless. Everything we could have possibly wanted/needed was there! There was plenty of room for all of us, every space was comfortable and functional. We utilized the outdoor deck/dining tables/fire pit/hot tub daily. Again, everything was clean and ready for use. Kim was everything a host should be. She gave clear instructions about everything that needed to be done from checkin to checkout. I had some questions, and she was always quick to respond and very personable. We used the community pool, went on several hikes, went to some breweries in town, and just enjoyed spending time on the property. The kitchen was amazing, and we found it easy to prepare and serve meals. The beds were extremely comfortable, and all bedrooms were welcoming and had plenty of pillows, blankets, charging stations, etc. Our family is already looking forward to another visit!

We enjoyed our stay at this home. The place is large and has enough seating for meals all together. The beds were comfortable. There were a lot of kid options available like crayons and games. The hot tub was very clean.
The resort is enormous and there are lots of hiking options. I was surprised how much cooler the temperature was at the resort due to elevation. This place has a view of the golf course but not the mountains. To get to the pool it is about a mile away so we always drove a car.
The food within the resort is expensive. We did the “green thumb” pizza and loved it.

We loved everything - inside and outside. Great design of interior, fun outside lounging space with hottub and fire table, and every little detail we could want. (Blankets, fireplace, games, reclining furniture, cooking stuff - all if it was great!)

This was the perfect house for our family weekend getaway. There were a lot of amenities that were provided for small children which made packing easier. Our family loved this beautiful home and hope to return for a longer stay.

This Deer Springs house was just what we were looking for to celebrate my husbands birthday with a few close friends and family. As a first time VRBO user, I was nervous about the process, but our host Kim was amazing and very responsive. She answered my questions ahead of time, sent all the information about or stay in a well laid out easy to follow PDF and when we had a small hick-up with check in (on my end), she was quick to answer to get it resolved so our stay could continue seamlessly. The house was clean, with a very easy layout. We had no difficulty finding the things we needed. We used the grill and the hot tub during out stay and both were in great condition. We were close to the resort so we could access the amenities easily and our area was a mix of feeling secluded and private with woods on one side, but also had a great view of the golf coarse and access to the walking path. It was everything I didn't know I needed. We will definitely be back!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and comfort of this lovely home. It was the perfect setting to gather for thanksgiving, cooking together in an amazing kitchen, relaxing in the hot tub and spending time walking the trails. Kim was an amazing host who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect!

This was the perfect getaway for a long weekend with family friends. The house was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The kids and adults had plenty of space to spread out and relax. We explored a nearby cidery and visited the Wintergreen spa. Look forward to coming back!

When we showed up we were blown away with how amazing this home was. Absolutely gorgeous. Amazing deck. Amazing location on the golf course, tucked away and private. They literally have every kitchen utensil/item you can imagine. You want 4 different types of coffee pots? Boom. You got it, pressure cookers, crock-pots, a HUGE closet of cool things to cook with. Tricycle for our 3 yo to ride on the deck. Most well stocked home we've ever rented on vrbo/bnb. Thank you for the amazing time.

Wonderful property nestled in the Wintergreen resort property. It was a bit of a bear getting up the mountain and we did get concerned about leaving the resort and returning safely after dark, but we quickly realized after checking in that we had no need to leave the house! It was fully equipped with (as described) towels, linens, beautiful kitchen with all full closet of appliances, and cups/plates/silverware. Enough for 8 folks!! The house was organized efficiently that we had no trouble navigating the kitchen when cooking our meals. Thank you Kim for the wonderful stay!
Would highly recommend your home to others and look to come back to be able to take full advantage of the resort amenities this time.

Our group loved this house for a long weekend. Everything was as promised in the listing - very clean and lovely with a lot of amenities. The host was very thorough in communicating everything we needed to know.

Perfect home for our family winter vacation
Awesome home! We took our adult children and two young grandchildren for four days of snow play (10 people). The home is warm and inviting and accommodated all of our needs. We had quite a bit of snow while we were there so not only did we have great skiing and tubing at the resort, we were able to take the kids sledding on the golf course behind the house and they were able to play on the large deck while we sat by the fireplace and watched. We enjoy cooking together and our family agreed that the kitchen had everything we needed and more.
We did fine navigating in the snow but if you are there during a significant snowfall, AWD would be helpful although not essential. Wintergreen does a great job plowing and the homeowner has supplies available to help with snow/ice management.
Kim is an exceptional host and communication, even at night, was speedy and helpful. We look forward to another visit!

Enjoyed this home immensely. Perfect for our group of 4-friends for a golf weekend. The home has all the amenities needed. The location was great and we hope to be back in the future.

Beautiful home, warm and inviting.
The house is bigger than we expected from the pictures. The downstairs have a well stocked and organized kitchen with a huge dining room table. Plenty of space and seating for a larger group. The kitchen had any small appliance and cooking utensils you would ever need. The two sinks were also a bonus. The spacious Master suite is on the first floor along with the living room. The Master and living room have a couple doors out to the large deck. Here you will find a oversized outdoor dining table and a gas fire pit with chairs around. The hot tub was super nice and seemed pretty new.
Upstairs there were four full bedrooms with two full baths. There is also a playroom/movie room that was a huge hit with our kids.
The house was very clean and organized. You can tell the owners really love this place and that they love to entertain their friends and family here.
We absolutely loved our stay. It almost felt like staying with a family member. We felt right at home. I would highly recommend.
