Perfect Maine cabin in the perfect location. Centrally located to all coastal activities. Hosts are wonderful

Stayed here while hiking in Acadia. It was a bit of a trek between the park and the cabin but well worth being able to unwind and relax after long days of hiking. While we never met the hosts because of our schedule (left early each day and returned late), they were great. Good communication including messages, emails, and even phone calls to make sure everything was good. And it was. I would happily stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

We stayed here with our children three years ago and were happy to return with family again. Beautiful area. Terrific cabin. Loons calling.

My family and I had a wonderful two weeks stay at this updated traditional Maine camp. Traditionally a Maine camp had an outhouse in the backyard and bathing was the pond. This camp had a rather nice bathroom with warm water, shower, sink and toilet with a huge bonus of a washer and dryer. The camp was well equipped inside with all the things you need to set up a base camp for exploring the area or just relaxing at your home away from home. The camp was clean and very well stocked with all of the essentials. The camp is larger than what the pictures on the website show. There is plenty of room for a good-sized family. The very large front enclosed-in porch just adds so much more space to stretch out in. Augie and Maryellen, the owners, were very welcoming and just plain lovely people.

Lovely location and nice sized cabin. Did not have any issues with gps guidance. We tried to disconnect but were able to get internet when needed. Had everything we needed. Even the weather cooperated.

We were looking for a quiet cabin on a beautiful lake and we found it at Get Away Cove! It was everything we wanted from kayaking, fishing, swimming or just enjoying the beautiful surroundings and also close enough to all the amenities the Down East area has to offer. Escape your reality and enjoy the simple pleasures of Get Away Cove!

The cabin is clean, well supplied, and comfortable. The owners are attentive and quick to respond to any concerns. The location is fantastic being off the beaten path but with easy access to all that coastal Maine has to offer, as well as an enjoyable place to hang out when it's a good day to stay close to home.
Webb pond is a peaceful lake with good fishing. I recommend bringing or renting canoes or kayaks so you can enjoy getting out on the water.

We loved it. Really want to book again. Close to Bar Harbor & lots of good stuff. Owners are awesome. The DVD player broke, no fault of theirs, they replaced immediately. They’re also just super nice people. Kids caught fish every morning. When they fished in the afternoon they caught nothing. We called them morning fish LoL. Quote from my 2 boys “ this was our best vacation so far “. Age 11-14 boys.
We would definitely stay again and probably will.

My stay at hidden cove was great. The cottage was nice and clean with many amenities available.
They are great host. It is more of gateway from your routine city lifestyle as there is no Wi-Fi but we were able to use our phones with no issues.
Overall the stay was good , only if the host would have responded to my emails or return my phone calls timely. Otherwise, would definitely recommend to stay and experience the stay close to the lake.

Webb Pond presented us with a location perfect for our needs. The children enjoyed swimming and fishing in a calm and beautiful setting and even befriended a mallard family. We adults never had to worry about their safety (although of course we watched closely). The camp was spacious--even more so than it appeared in the photos--and well-supplied. We knew we would love it from the moment we stepped in--and then we got a close-up look at a pair of bald eagles and heard the otherworldly loon calls. Augie and MaryEllen were helpful and responsive. We certainly hope to return in future years!

We enjoyed our stay at Getaway Cove. It was quiet, private and had everything we needed. The lake was beautiful and there were many activities near by. We enjoyed whale watching, and days at Acadia National Park. The house was spacious enough for a family of 5.

This is a must stay kind of place. Peaceful along with all the needed amenities. The hosts were attentive and friendly. It’s close to bar harbor making it easy to go on multiple occasions. We hope to make it back again in the future. Thank you to Augie and Maryellen for allowing us this experience.

Cabin was great! Right on the lake. All the tourist traps are close enough to drive to each day if you want (and we did). Ellsworth isn't too far away for supplies. They had about everything you need (except food) right in the cabin (including coffee-which we left another container). Definitely make sure you bring bug spray, those Maine mosquitoes will carry you away! Only "negative" is that the cabin gets very hot in the afternoons which can be rough if you're just trying to relax for the day. Otherwise we loved it and our kids were begging us to move there.

The location was perfect. My grandson's enjoyed the pond so much. Fishing was great. Loved watching them enjoying it so much. The sofa bed should really be replace. Could not set or sleep on it. Need a few more forks. The TV sound seems to be going. Sometimes we could get sound and sometimes we could not. As long as the weather is good not a problem. However, on rainy days it can be frustrating. I would differently book again. Really nice place. Not complaining, just letting you know.

This is a lovely rustic cabin. It is very spacious. The host reached out to to us before we arrived, he was easy to reach and very helpful if we had a question . The cabin appears to be largely uninsulated, if not completely uninsulated. We were there during an unseasonably cold spell, but there is a propane space heater which did a satisfactory job of keeping the space comfortable. There is a large enclosed porch, which we unfortunately couldn’t enjoy because of the chilly weather, but it would be wonderful when the weather is better. The kitchen is well stocked with essential cooking equipment. We’d definitely stay here again if we vacation in the area again.

The cabin is quite large and comfortable with a "camp vibe". All the essentials are present. The shore is not a sandy situation but an easy spot to launch. canoe or swim with water shoes. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at Getaway Cove for two weeks and had a great vacation. A rustic camp that returns you to simpler times. A great beach area for the little people to swim and the big people to relax and zone out. Far enough from civilization to be peaceful and quiet, but not too far to make it inconvenient to travel and visit other places.

Lovely Mountain Cabin on a Lake
This cabin was the right price and location for our family to check Maine off of our 50 states list. The kids LOVED staying on the pond (which is more like a lake) and enjoyed fishing every day and wading in the water. The cabin has 3 bedrooms (#1 double /twin, #2 queen, #3 queen), a main living area (kitchen/dining/living with pullout couch) and a closed in porch that we enjoyed. The cabin is as it looks in the photos and to quote one of our teens, "Aw, it feels like a grandma's cabin." We stayed with our 5 kids, which did make it seem like we were bursting at the seems. While the cabin is a bit rustic, it could be instantly upgraded with a roomba just to pick up all the little bits of stone that come in from the lake/driveway. The cabin does get hot during the day without AC but cools down at night. Our only other complaint would be the hot water for showers. We did dishes in the morning so we could all shower at night and that did little to help. We did resort to "camping" showers (rinse, shut off water, lather, rinse) but that still did not give everyone hot showers.
Pros: lake front, price, stocked kitchen, fishing, washer/dryer
Cons: Lack of hot water, lack of dishwasher, noise with open cabin
Giving 4 stars due to lack of dishwasher and hot water.
Overall: Would stay here again with a smaller group

Wonderful Stay
The pictures were exactly as shown. The property was very relaxing but with a lot to do. Fishing, canoeing, puzzles, books, very friendly neighbors. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. They never made you feel like they were any thing but another vacationer. We look foward to visiting again.

Relaxation
The property was just as suspected. We loved going out to the lake and just sitting. There where ducks who came up and visited. It was nicely located to many places and would recommend it to anyone.

Pure bliss in Maine
We had a spectacular time. The cabin was as promised and perfect size for our family. Located 45 minutes from Acadia which allowed us to spend time there and relax at the cabin. We kayaked, napped in our hammocks, fished of the the beach area, and just enjoyed the quiet. Would definitely stay again. Augie checked multiple times throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for the memories.

This was a restful and peaceful property off the beaten path. My family enjoyed the amazing sunsets and reading on the sun porch. The house was clean and well stocked. Owners were nice. Would rent this cabin again.

Loved it!
Completely remote but close enough to Bangor, Acadia and Ellsworth to be able to enjoy it all. The house was great and we loved sitting by the pond at night with a fire and looking at the stars.

Good Acadia Park Option on Lower Budget
The property is as advertised and worked fine for us. It's a very scenic setting with pond view from its porch. We liked its rustic cabin feel with 3 bedrooms and an updated bathroom. It is off the path, 25 minutes from closest town/amenities - and 50 minutes from park entrance, but we were prepared for that: no problem. Directions provided were clear with clarity of how to access the home. But best for guests to arrive whille light. Augie and Ellen were kind and understanding re: an unusual situation that arose (our error). We would only encourage that they be available the night of arrival to receive a phone call (we tried 2x) or to check-in with guests by phone or text. All-in-all, we enjoyed our stay and time in Acadia region. Thanks.

Peaceful Getaway
Was pleasantly surprised at how big the cabin was. We enjoyed the fire pit and truly appreciated the wood that was supplied for us to use. The beach was bigger than I expected. My father-in-law enjoyed fishing from shore and caught a couple of small mouth trout. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was pleasant bigger than expected with a nice big shower. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
