Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. Easy water access. My family came in for a wedding with events stretching from Ocean Forest to the Lodge. Very conveniently located. We also had two infant grandchildren, the house was quiet with plenty of room.
Very well furnished kitchen with plenty of extras, trash bags laundry detergent etc. Probably the best coffee maker I’ve experienced lately.
The best of all, besides the magnificent Mahogany floors are the large front porches. We enjoyed many hours of great family time perched among the Live Oak trees.
Also the elevator came in very handy when Mom came by to visit. Highly recommend!

The property had a good location. Able to walk everywhere. It was not on the beach or were you able to sit near it. You could see the water from the second floor veranda. The home had ample space for all of us. We were 9 total. I just think the home is tired and worn and needs to be cared for a little better. I don't think we received a spotless home considering the cleaning fee that I had to pay for. The shower in the 3rd floor master had mold on the hand held unit that has been there for awhile. So if you don't mind the "old" and worn finishes then this is a place for a large group. Otherwise don't spend the money.

Beautifully and comfortably furnished. The 3 king and 2 twin bedrooms were just right for our group. The mirrored exercise room on the ground floor was a big hit for the young folk and the porches on the second and third floors were great for both getting away and gathering and relaxing. Easy walk to town for shopping and eating and to the beach.

At SSI for our son’s wedding and in need of large, gracious home for family & friends and this suited us perfectly. Easy walking distance to village and beach made it easy for everyone to come and go. Top it all off with a property blessed with the oaks this area is well-known for and a great recipe for a wonderful stay!

Family Fun
This home is in a wonderful location for all ages. Short (less than five minute) flat walk to the village. All ages could find something to do in the village whether at the pier, playground, shops or restaurants. The house was as described. Two large porches for sitting, patio with grill, and fully furnished kitchen. The elevator was a great way to move luggage in and out. The property contact, BB, was wonderful and always responded quickly. We hope to stay there again.

Great stay!! Amazing family reunion
Great spot! Kinda tricky with the location of the beach close to us depending on high tide or low tide.
Recommend to rent golf carts to get to the other beach on 7th street.
Dryer did not work so hopefully they fix it
Amazing house though and huge! Would rent again.

We love visiting SSI and have stayed at many properties. This property is beautiful. It was wonderful sitting in the swing on the veranda and watching the ocean from afar. The host, BB, was very gracious and attentive.

Gorgeous home for girls trip!
Our group of 9 girls thoroughly enjoyed this gorgeous and well maintained multi-level home. There is ample room to spread out, but also room to comfortably gather, relax and hang out. The huge porches with comfortable seating was our favorite spot. Highlight was the location - quiet and peaceful neighborhood near the water, and a 5 minute walk to the quaint town with coffee, shops, restaurants, and the pier. Appreciated the communication with the host- gracious and responsive. Highly recommend this home!

Great space for today's health considerations
Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It was a "home base" for my daughter's wedding, and the spaciousness of the home and the porches was perfect in this covid-conscious time. We had plenty of room for guests and family to socialize but at safe distance. A very comfortable spot for enjoying St. Simons with adult children and extended family.

The property is very elegant filled with beautiful antiques and exquisite art. It is quite large but very intimate areas family to gather. Many bonuses like a gym, piano and elevator. Huge master suite on top floor with fabulous bathroom. It is a majestic generational family home with a host who thinks of everything to accommodate your stay. Close to everything. We loved it

Highly Recommend!
Great meeting point to share with family members from all over to celebrate my daughter’s birthday at the beach. The house was better than advertised. Lounging on the spacious balconies amid the beautiful oaks and feeling the ocean breeze in the mornings and evenings was better than any resort! The house had all amenities we needed and more. Some of the things not mentioned here include various book cases with a diverse library of books and beautiful artwork in every room including originals by the owner/host himself. Our best VRBO experience yet.

Family Get Together
We had a great time on SSI. So much to do and experience from fishing to horseback riding, seeing the island via golf carts. Lots of fun restaurants and shopping. The house was spacious and allow everyone their space. We spent every night on veranda watching sunsets. Would absolutely come again.

Beautiful Spacious house
Some of information published was not accurate. Queen bed was actually a double bed. Some amenities were not provided.
The week of our stay was very noisy; continuous leaf blowers starting at 7 am and the airport (which is a given when planes are flying over). Only stating this if you are expecting a calm quiet setting!

Fabulous Memories
B. B. Shelander's home in St. Simon, GA was a perfect remedy for our family of eight adults to get over the Covid-19 blues!
The house is centrally located for walks and bike rides in the wonderful live oak forested area. Two blocks from town was great for the shoppers. Our group enjoyed Happy Hour on the porch, especially when it rained so we could hear the rain in the trees.
Thanks for the great memories, B.B.

Perfect Weekend
This home was the perfect place for our weekend getaway! So beautiful and made you feel as though you were in Charleston. Large enough to spread out, loved the porches and the kitchen! My daughter is a pianist so we loved having the baby grande there. Steps from hearing and seeing the ocean, this was a great place for a bachelorette party! We loved the location- close to the beach, town, and other fun activities. We parked at 5th street for the beach and then we did go to East beach. (wonderful public beach with bathrooms, showers, concessions, etc) We did the ghost tour (average) and ate at Bubba Garcia's (incredible food but small and more bar-ish) and Coastal Kitchen was amazing. The island was lovely- a local called it the "Mayberry" of beach towns. Can't wait to return! BB was super helpful and always quick to respond!

A lovely vacation!
Our family of 8 had a lovely week at this house! We had room to spread out as well as room to gather together for meals and games around the dining room table. We kept a puzzle going on the kitchen table all week but still had plenty of places to eat our meals. We got lots of use out of the ping pong table, and the grassy area at the end of the street was the perfect place to play corn hole and Kubb (a new family favorite). We found that the beach accesses at 7th, 9th, and Cedar street were the best to use because the beach area closest to the house is too narrow and unusable at high tide. Loved the close proximity to the village area. We rented bikes for the week and rode all over the island. Thank you for a wonderful family vacation!

Long Weekend in St. Simons
We had a great time! The house was spacious and great for two families. The location was very convenient and had access to the beach and village. The owner was extremely attentive and accommodating. Additionally, we really enjoyed the beautiful artwork in this lovely Charleston style home!!

House among the trees.
Owner was great and helpful. House was a beautiful Victorian house with all furniture in great condition. The house has giant live oak trees all around it with a small view of the water. The beach close to the house is not very good but full beaches are close by. The center of the town is only two blocks away. All in all it is a first class property.

Beautiful coastal home with a Southern charm
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. It is at a walking distance to the Pier Village. We enjoyed the fact that we had an easy access through a nearby street to the beach which was quite secluded as it came up only during low tide. It was perfect during these challenging times with the COVID pandemic as we could keep away from the crowds and had the entire beach to ourselves! BB is a very kind host. He was prompt in responding to all our queries.

Perfect for grooms family accommodations and rehearsal dinner
We were in St Simons for my son’s wedding. This was a perfect place for our family to stay! We had 3 couples (parents and 2 sets grandparents) and 3 young adults. The 3 bedrooms with private bath were great for each couple to have their privacy and the younger ones shared the other bath. There was room for us all to enjoy being together, but also enough space for quiet time. Covid-19 made us make some changes. Although restaurants were open, with grandparents health a concern, we chose to have the rehearsal dinner at the house. King City had enough seating for 20 and room for us all to gather for toasts, but also separate for some fun. The dads loved the ping pong table downstairs!!! The double ovens, two refrigerators and plenty of counter space made dinner prep and serving go so smoothly . We had a wonderful time and would stay again!
I gave the cleanliness a 4 rating simply because the age of the home, some finishes and architectural details lend themselves to be difficult to keep immaculate. The washing machine could use a good cleaning, but other than that it was clean, I just reserve a 5 for immaculate. I rated accuracy of the listing with a 4 because when I booked, the listing stated there were 2 king beds, 1 queen and 4 twins. When we arrived the queen was actually a full size. That made things tight for one of the couples, but I spoke with BB before we left and he assured me he was going to adjust the listing.
BB was wonderful to work with! If you don’t need a house this size but find another that BB owns in the size you need, I would definitely recommend working with him!
