Quiet retreat, perfectly located for exploring

Beautifully presented property, nestled amongst the trees and hills. We particularly enjoyed the hpt tub, comfy beds and log burner. A lovely place to rest and relax as well as a great base for hiking in Nelson Lakes NP

We thought breakfast was provided based on photos on the listing, however this is no longer the case. The host has promised to update the listing accordingly though and we were provided with some cider, teas, coffees, snacks and toiletries which was a lovely touch.

Exceeded expectations, even better than the photos.

This place was even better than I thought. The whole layout of the unit and attention to detail was amazing. All the appliances, sheets, toiletries were high quality. Lots of space, so comfortable. The hot tub was amazing. Such beautiful grounds. Easy walk into town if you need it. So beautiful.

paradise in manuka bush, luxury hot tub ,comfy beds and nature at its best

This is my favorite place in New Zealand. It is a native bush/bird paradise with luxury accommodation ,great for teenagers and the hot tub is amazing in winter. The fire is cozy and I actually was able to RELAX. Love the lake as well 'Thanks Mary Allan

What a gem of a place.

It’s beautiful setting in close proximity to Lake Rotoiti and surrounding walks. Very comfortable and thought out furnishings. Well equipped and spacious rooms. Hot tub. Relative isolation. Excellent hosts.

We came for the experience. The area is beautiful.

The grounds is lovely.

That we did not have any heating for very cool single digit nights and the fire place could not be operated because it is officially summer.

Serene, private and classy rustic abode

Serene and private . Nice environment and convenient. Facilities are good. Having both Washing machine and dryer is great .

Some Sand flies at area, hence must keep the doors and windows closed most of the time . There is no heater for the chill weather . Though an aircon is good for the afternoon sun that heats up the room when the doors are closed ( green house effect)

it was private, lovely outlook, central to activities. well appointed. Friendly, accomodating hosts.

would have been good to have a bbq outside, a microwave and a larger fridge. An intermediate step for the verandah would be useful, esp for those with reduced mobility.

The Woodsmen Den is perfect for a long weekend getaway

We loved everything, the location to get to the lake and the many walks, the scenery, the privacy, the house was equipped so well, the little extras were a bonus and the spa was to die for!!! Great hosts :-)

Incredible location and facilities - will be back for sure

Hot Tub is amazing, soundproofing and blackout curtains made sleep ins possible. Amazing stay. Hosts promote sustainability which was well received.

No microwave avaialble which would have been used but not a major. Bed was comfortable if not a bit firm which would suit some people wheras personally we prefer something a bit softer.

Definitively one of our best bnb experience ! stunning location , amazing house , great design and that hot tub... The owner is lovely and they offer outdoor activities as well ,we will go back next year for sure ! St Arnaud is such a nice little town with many activities around
