Shadowbrook is nestled in one of Montecito's exclusive neighborhoods tucked below the foothills and has been a popular vacation rental since 2013. Surrounded by ancient oaks, evergreens, tropical palms and blooming bougainvillea, this property is peaceful and serene. Relax to the sounds of the stream-like water feature that meanders through the property and lush gardens, terminating beside the pool with automatic safety cover. This home is a breath of fresh air!
The property features a 3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom Main house, plus a private detached Guest Studio Cottage with full Bathroom. This bright and open home was designed to take advantage of nature's canvas. An entire wall of wide bi-fold doors open to the garden to accomplish a seamless blending of indoor and outdoor spaces. Open beam ceilings soar over wide distressed wood plank floors that feel smooth underfoot, giving the inside a rustic yet sophisticated feel.
The Living Room offers 2 different spaces to sit and relax. There is a comfortable seating area near the corner fireplace and Dining Room, and a cozy area for watching television.
A wall of natural sandstone separates the newly remodeled Kitchen from the Living Room. All the necessary culinary appliances, tools and dishes have been provided in order to prepare great meals with ease. There is plenty of room for conversation with the cook, or to help with the dishes!
The Primary Bedroom Suite, with king-size bed and walk-in closet, has walls of glass windows and doors on 2 sides which allow an amazing amount of light and soft breezes to permeate the space. Easy access to the back garden is provided. The spacious Primary Ensuite Bathroom features a very clever glass shower with an exterior door to the outdoor patio. Guests will find this very convenient when going to and from the spa just outside on the elevated garden terrace nearby.
The home was smartly designed to stay seasonally cool with the use of lower louvered windows that can be opened in the 2 Guest Bedrooms to allow gentle breezes to pass through. Bedroom Suite #2 has a king-size bed and a full Ensuite Bathroom with shower. Bedroom #3 has 2 twin beds and a Bathroom with shower/bathtub combination.
A detached Studio Guest Suite offers a wonderful space for those seeking a bit more privacy from the activity of the main house. With a king-size bed, full Bathroom and sofa sleeper, this could be the perfect haven for a couple, a small family, or overflow guests to share.

Our family (4 couples) had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. With temperatures around 100 deg, the pool was a welcome bonus. The well-appointed kitchen was a plus for the foodies in our group. We’re still talking about it!

The property was absolutely stunning! We stayed here for a family get-together and it was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was fantastic and had nearly everything we needed (sometimes a gamble).
The indoor areas were comfortable enough to relax in and large enough to play some active card games.
The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms (that master bath!) There are shades in the master, but the sun was intense in the mornings so bring an eye mask… or don’t, and enjoy the serene beauty of the property and mountains with a cup of coffee in the deck to start the day.
There were small appreciated touches throughout—such as board games and a welcome bottle of wine.
The pool was a highlight—it was heated so even a dip in the cooler mornings was fantastic. Plenty of provided beach towels to dry off and drape over the many lounge chairs to relax in. We were looking forward to using the hot tub, but we were notified shortly after we checked in it was not usable. This was probably the only ding because the pool and hot tub were two musts when we were searching properties. I understand that things happen, and the property management company said they would reach out directly for a credit for the inconvenience, which is greatly appreciated and earns points for how they handled it.
I would highly recommend this beautiful property for any stay. We were 15 minutes from Santa Barbara, but it was tough to leave such a great retreat.

Shadowbrook was the perfect retreat for our family! We were in Montecito for our oldest son’s wedding and couldn’t have been happier with the beautifully appointed home, comfortable layout, great casita and the incredible yard, pool and mountain views. Simply perfect! We will be back!

Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing location, just 15 minute drive from everything you want to see in Santa Barbara. Decor was simple, beds were comfortable, & everything was clean.
We had an issue with a broken umbrella while we were there & someone was out within hours to replace umbrella. Great service.

We absolutely loved staying at this property! The house was beautiful, the grounds were stunning and the mountain view’s were incredible. We had a perfect week with absolutely no complaints. There was an issue with the kitchen faucet at some point but the management team sent someone out so fast and the issue was resolved with no headache to us. Cannot recommend this property enough. We cannot wait to go back!!

Quaint Jem in Montecito
The Property sits in a fantastic residential location just 5 mins drive from downtown Montecito. Great place for couples as we had 4 couples total. The detached pool House/cottage was super! The house has a fun gathering area in the living room by t he fireplace which we used every night! The pool is in excellent condition and they had service people come during our stay to check on the water etc. as well as the hot tub. The only negative is that the overall condition of the property-it is a tad tired. Could use a fresh coat of paint and new carpet in the master. Otherwise-it is a great property for a gathering!

Time for Maintenance
Please know these comments are coming from someone who owns rental properties and I understand that after every rental season you can’t go in and completely change everything, but when you first walk into a property and you see soiled carpets or stains on the main rug that is in front of the TV that you’re going to be sitting at, it is a little unsettling. After our four night stay, I had a list of things that needed attention. I won’t mention them all but a few that were the most bothersome, the front door only opens about a quarter of the way because it has swelled up and rubs on the floor, the dishwasher was not even mounted under the cabinet and it was extremely difficult to use, the cold water faucets in the master bedroom did not work properly, and we saw several spiders. These are just a few things that I would say could use some attention. I wish it had been disclosed to us that the property next door is under construction. You can imagine our disappointment when we arrived to the property and turned into the driveway to see the green construction fence lining the way. We immediately questioned whether the R&R we were searching for was even going to be a possibility. The other thing we wish had been disclosed is that the guest house has no air conditioning, and it was uncomfortable trying to sleep in there at night. I will end on a positive note, the view and the swimming pool in the backyard were awesome. We spent most of our time in the backyard and it was very enjoyable. We would consider going back to this home, but only after some maintenance has taken place.

Our Stay
The house is incredible. Great layout, nice size rooms and very clean. The property is beautiful. Only negative was construction next door to house. On our second day there, the contractors next door spent the day sandblasting their pool. We couldnt even sit in the backyard while they were working between the dust and noise, it was impossible. We wound up leaving the house for the day and explored Montecito and Santa Monica and by the time we got back they were gone. Overall, the place is great size, clean, and beautiful. Would recommend.

A fantastic retreat for our group!
We had our team of 6 employees in town for a retreat, and this property provided the ideal setting. It was a beautiful location and offered plenty of meeting spaces, as well as spaces to relax and hang out. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem
What an incredible property! We stayed here for a girls weekend (9 ladies total) and the home was just what we hoped for and more. The grounds were impeccable, and the pool and hot tub were warm when we arrived. The kitchen seems recently remodeled (which was fantastic as we had a chef prepare dinner one night) and the bathrooms updated as well. We were very comfortable and the place was spacious with two living rooms. The detached casita is huge. All the bedrooms have their own bathrooms, which was great for privacy. I truly cannot say enough positive things about this place! We will definitely book this gem again on our next trip to Montecito!

Fabulous house and parklike property
The home and property offer a serene respite from the busy pace of life. The property is designed to bring the outdoors in and that enhances the enjoyment. The space is compact but flows well for family gatherings and there is plenty to do on and off the property. The kitchen is well appointed and the large outdoor deck was idea for outdoor dinning. The pool is perfect for children and adults. There were many small issues that should be address by management that would have made our stay trouble free. We would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet escape to enjoy time with family and friends.

Perfect in every way. We could not have chosen a more perfect place for our Girlfriends of 50+ years getaway. It was so wonderful that one night we just brought food home, cozied up, and enjoyed being together.
The weather prevented us from spa and pool but we so loved it, one or all of us may come back again in sunny weather!

Favorite home away from home
My husband and I have stayed at Shadowbrook twice, once with friends and once with family, and absolutely love it. The home exemplifies the relaxed, tasteful Santa Barbara lifestyle. The ranch style details and finishes are gorgeous. The master suite is quite large, as is the beautifully outfitted master bath. There are two smaller bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, off the main living area. The guest house offers privacy and lots of space to relax. The large deck that opens off the living area and overlooks the pond is the spot where we spent most of our time. We will definitely visit Shadowbrook on a future visit to Santa Barbara.

We reserved Shaddowbrook for the week of our daughter's wedding. It could not have been more perfect! It was warm and charming, with relaxing indoor and outdoor space. The separate Guest House is ideal for a couple needing privacy. We can't wait to come back!

Perfect weekend getaway with a group
One of the best homes I have ever rented. The house was tucked away in a private location yet close enough to downtown for dinners and activities. It has plenty of space for a large group and was so clean (having the hot tub is def an added bonus). I felt right at home when I arrived. The management is super responsive and was great to work with. On the day we left we had minimal clean up to do compared to other houses
I've rented in the past (ie stripping the beds and emptying garbage) because they take care of it all. I would def rent this house again.
