Words cannot describe how wonderful Casa Orquidea is, you have to experience it! The accommodations easily feel like a second home. The view and community are wonderful, secure, and very friendly. The support staff including Carlos the property manager went above and beyond to ensure our stay went smoothly, and even helped us find new places to explore and eat. It was very tough to leave such a heaven on earth. Would highly recommend for long and short stays.

We spent a week at this property and had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful place to stay when visiting Las Terranes. The house has gorgeous views and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Once we learned how to navigate the area, it is pretty crazy driving through Las Terranes (we were there at a busy time) you can head to the surrounding beaches, Playa Bonita and Playa Colon, which are breathtaking. The home is walking distance to Las Ballenas Beach, which is so pretty. We paddle boarded and snorkeled there. Unfortunately, we missed seeing the humpback whales as the whale watching is January 15th - March 15th, we were so close, but no. The best meal we had was at a French restaurant in one of the shopping centers, sorry I do not remember the name but also had a good meal at La Terrasse. If you plan on snorkeling, I would bring equipment with you on your trip, as you can pull over at many pretty spots to snorkel. We surfed at Playa Bonita where we rented boards and our teenage daughters took some surf lessons. There is a service called Komida which is basically an Uber Eats. The agency who helps with the check in and anything you need when you are visiting is excellent. They took care of any problems immediately, we only had a few, hot water heater needed to be lit and an issue working the tv. I definitely recommend this home when visiting this beautiful place.

We spent 2 weeks in the DR with 5 nights in this gorgeous home in the hills overlooking the beach. I LOVED the house so much and can definitely see myself going back there even though I prefer to explore more of the world than return to vacation destinations already visited. But, the house was so beautifully appointed and comfortable that I find myself thinking about it often now that I'm home. If you are looking for indoor/outdoor living, this is the spot. And the Master bedroom views are to die for. Beds are comfy. BUT - please note that the owner does not allow guests to use the laundry facilities. Housekeeping comes and will wash your clothing off premises, so there is back-up. Super minor issue but you should be aware of it if you plan on doing all your laundry on your own. 2 words...Stay here...you'll love it!

We were a group of four - two couples - and this property was incredible. The view was even better than captured in the photos - truly idyllic. The large outside table was incredible for breakfasts each morning. The kitchen was fun to work in and the house in immaculate condition. We didn't use the air conditioning but were comfortable with fans/bug nets (would recommend using them). The property managers were professional and helpful. The walk down the hill to Las Bellenas beach was 5 minutes (a little more going up), and the beach was beautiful. We rented kayaks from the Sailing Club right there and ate at two wonderful beach side restaurants within walking distance of the property. It's 1.75 miles to walk into the "downtown" area with bars/music, which we did one night and taxied home. The road/driveway is definitely extremely steep/narrow, but we were able to navigate it with our rental car (suzuki vitara). Would love to come back one day!

We enjoyed a wonderful four days at your lovely beach villa! Loved the outstanding ocean view (especially at sunset), the outdoor dining, the garden, walking along the beach to town, and the feel of your Mediterranean-style home. The huge master bedroom had a perfect cross breeze, which made for a comfortable night's sleep (and afternoon reading). Your property manager was very helpful and I would recommend hiring your housekeeper for at least one dinner in. We had an exceptional traditional dinner with Mahi Mahi caught that day, and although I don't speak Spanish, we had a fun conversation using Google Translate! Also, the highways are much nicer than the tour books lead you to believe.

Our family stayed here and it was perfect for our family of 4; two adults and two teenagers. It was in a convenient location to the beach, town, shopping and restaurants. It was comfortable and had all the conveniences of home. The owners were great and prepared us for our trip by giving us a lot of information before our arrival with recommendations of things to do, places to eat, sites to see and guided us when we had questions.

We stayed for one week at the Villa Orquidea and fell in love with the home, the village, and the people of Las Terrenas.
It was incredible to have a beautiful kitchen to cook at home, and to dine overlooking the ocean. It is spacious enough have a large group of people. But we enjoyed having the entire house to ourselves. The location of the house allows for seclusion and privacy while being a short walk from the amazing beach, and the restaurants in town.
We also chose to have massages in the house each morning by Amada. What a perfect way to start the day!
We will definitely be returning soon to Las Terrenas and this unique home away from home.
Many thanks to Kristy for sharing this wonderful place with us.

This house was the perfect location for our two week stay in LT in July 2014. The breeze from the ocean made the house feel pleasant even on the hottest days, the views from the large terrace onto lush vegetation with the ocean in the background were breath taking and the house itself well designed, fully equipped and tastefully decorated. Everything looked just like the pictures (or even better). The trip into town for food and entertainment was quick in the vehicle we rented from the housekeeper - definitely recommended. We have stayed at other vacation rentals in LT before but (finally) have found the best possible vacation home for our family.

What an incredible vacation this one week was at Las Terrenas at Kristy and John's house.
I had a blast with my 5 year old son alongside a close friend.
We've loved every minute spent in this positive energy injecting house.
Lovely views, tasteful simple interior design, large kitchen, incredible balcony, duplex comfort, lovely house keeper and safe feeling provided by guards.
Gorgeous beaches are all near by.
This place has a harmonious marriage between a nature and civilization.
We can not stop talking about it and we can not wait to go back again and again and again.
Do not miss out going to Playa Bonita and Playa Coson for the best beach walk in this universe.
Our new favorite easy to get to from New York destination is Casa Orquidea-Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic.
Viva Casa Orquidea, promise to wait for us.

Great house in quiet location on top of a hill overlooking the Atlantic. House has beautiful hardwood floors and newly renovated bathrooms. Everything is very cozy and comfortable. The patio overlooking a tropical forest and the ocean is amazing. It's a 10-minute walk to the beach, however, car is a must to go to restaurants and grocery stores in las Terrenas.
