BLUEBIRD ESCAPE: A retreat for weekend or weekly getaways in the Southern Highlands, New South Wales. Private, secluded, modern Australian luxury on a private road in Canyonleigh. Only 30 minutes from Moss Vale and Berrima, 40 minutes from Bowral and just under 2 hours from Sydney or Canberra. Three bedrooms, spacious living, chef's kitchen, bush, views, fully equipped.

STUNNING LOCATION: Sitting high on the sides of the Wollondilly valley. Over 100 acres of natural bush. Accommodation perched in a clearing, on a small ridge looking over sandstone escarpments, gullies and valleys. Bush views stretching to the horizon. Huge eucalypts protect acacias, banksias and orchids. Kangaroos, wombats, koalas and native birds abound. Get away from it all – complete privacy no neighbours to be seen.

REFINED COMFORT: Luxurious, contemporary accommodation over three pavilions. A mix of modern furniture and selected antiques. A large open plan living space with fully equipped kitchen and three double bedrooms. All with uninterrupted bush valley views. Surrounded by decks. Soak up the sun or lie in the shade.

RELAX AND UNWIND: Perfect for a romantic sojourn for 2, families and friends looking for peace away from the cityand to catch up over a few good meals around the fire, a base from which to explore the Southern Highlands or a stolen few days by yourself to read books or simply do nothing. Comfortably sleeps up to 6 adults (and, if you really can’t leave them behind, a couple of smaller kids too).

ATMOSPHERIC: Cozy atmosphere on those cold winter days in front of the fire with an unlimited supply of wood. Beautifully haunting and still with fog or rain in valley. Classically Australian-bush on those hot summer days with a breeze flowing through the large open doors.

EAT: The large open plan living pavilion includes a kitchen, and dining and sitting areas positioned alongside a large wood fireplace. A rock wall, built from stone collected on the property, stretches along one side of the room with floor to ceiling glass on the others. A spectacular space. Spacious, fully equipped kitchen. Eight metres of stainless steel bench space next to a four metre dining table. 90cm gas oven and hobs. Complete array of pans, pots, utensils. Expresso coffee machine and beans. Everything a cook could need ensure that catering for family and friends is no chore. Just bring your food and creativity to feast like kings and queens!

SLEEP: The main bedroom pavilion (up to 4 adults) has 2 bedrooms with king size beds, and share a large separate bathroom with double vanity and showers. All with uninterrupted bush valley views. The last pavilion (for 2 more adults) contains the third double bedroom, bathroom and double car port. Luxurious bedding, pillows and cushions galore.

COMMUNICATIONS: The property has speedy STARLINK WIFI suitable for WIFI audio/video calls & internet + an AppleTV if you want to log into your subscriptions and stream away. Note, there is patchy to no cellular mobile phone coverage at Bluebird Escape.

NOTE: For 2hrs from Sydney, Bluebird Escape is beautifully remote. Landline, internet, TV & services rely on Telstra/satellites/utilities/local fauna/weather. Things normally work perfectly, but with that lot we can't guarantee they are all up all of the time. If you are inconvenienced during your stay, please contact us & we will see if we can sort it out.

SECURITY The property is on its own 110 acre block without local traffic. Buildings are lockable. External security cameras are affixed to the pavilions monitoring driveway and garage but do not monitor any internal spaces.

Wow, absolutely stunning property in a fantastic location with wonderful hosts. Perfect place to chill and enjoy some downtime with friends and family. It you get a chance to stay here, grab it with both hands! We will definitely be back.

This is an outstanding property. Set on a hill with brilliant views and the whole house is designed to bring these inside. Secluded and quiet, perfect for days away to catch up with friends or catching up on the reading list. The host was so accommodating and made things so easy. If anything the pictures don't do it justice. Everything is beautifully presented. The kitchen is really well stocked with the basics, plus some, and there is plenty of the necessary equipment to really cook up a feast. A real home away from home. A great getaway.

We had a lovely long weekend at Bluebird Escape with our 3 teenagers and small dog. We loved the home's design, capturing gorgeous views and all-day sun, and the fireplace. Excellent fit-out, we'll come again.

Thank you Fiona and your husband, we loved your architecturally designed house which took advantage of the spectacular panorama. A very special location. The house was very comfortable and well maintained,we loved how the bedrooms were separate to the main living area. We will definitely return this winter!

Fiona's house is the perfect escape from the city with spectacular views from every room and not a neighbour insight. The large fireplace was lovely, as was the very well equipped kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - it feels like a home not a "rental". A place to truly unwind.

The property was a place we felt at home as soon as we walked in. So clean and comfortable with luxurious furnishings. Gorgeous bedding, fabulous bathrooms, amazing views. Kitchen was brilliant with clean and more than could possibly expect supplies in the pantry. Plus the extras left for our little cavoodle like doggy bags and more. Great fire place with ample supply of timber . Everything thought of - can’t praise it enough. Thankyou for letting us enjoy such a beautiful home. We will be back soon I hope.

We decided to stay at Bluebird for our annual Christmas in July celebration, we couldn't be any happier with our stay. The entire residence is just spectacular. The views are out of this world. We go away every year and this is by far the best property we have stayed in. The cupboards are well stocked with everything you will need for your stay, just turn up with your food and wine and enjoy. We will definitely be back.

My family and I have been coming to Bluebird Escape for over 2 years now - and as often as we can. We celebrate life's milestones here, come here after stressful work periods to rejuvenate and spend quality time with each other, or catch up with friends and family. It is, for us, one of the most beautiful places on earth - one of those magical places that lifts you out of yourself - you literally feel the worry fall away. The house is luxurious, striking and easy to live in - with soaring double glazed glass walls that make you feel like you're hovering among the trees, and that open up to bring the outside indoors. You can even wheel the long indoor table out for a gorgeous al fresco experience. There's a sandstone fireplace for marshmallow roasting, four big deckchairs overlooking that breathtaking view to read, chat and rest in. The coffee machine grinds its own beans. The beds are fall-into comfy. The double shower has a stunning view of gums and bushland. Fiona is a magnificent host - literally every accessory I ever need, no matter how unlikely, always seems to be here. It is a house of luxury, of plenty, but with a relaxed charm that means you don't have to be in a state of high alert about the impact of children or dogs on the place. And the views - the views are transcendent, rolling and changeable throughout the day. We drop over the cliff for bushwalks and cave picnics. We play boule on the plateau, and the many indoor games in supply. At night we go on wombat tours with torches - they are always about - then come back to curl up on the couch for dinner, popcorn and a movie. This is a rare find, and we're so thrilled that we found it. Our family consider it their second home because of how happy it makes us all. It's an absolute must visit.

Loved our stay at Bluebird Escape. The house is gorgeous and the property as a whole is just stunning. It was absolute bliss to wake up and look out at nothing but tress for miles. It really is the perfect spot to relax and unwind.The owner, Fiona is a pleasure to deal with & the booking process couldn't have been easier. We very much look forward to returning.
