About this house rental
CIN: IT083038B4TX87GJNH
The Don Michele House, located in Letojanni, in the old fisherman's village near Taormina (only 5km) on the Sicilian Ionian Coast, only 10m from the seaside. An independent house set on 74 square meters, dated back to the 1780, while maintaining the characteristics of that period though being entirely restored. The walls of the perimeter have remained intact and parts of the pavements are made out of local baked clay paving stones. The two-storey house is accessible by a nice alley with table and two chairs. In the entrance, that separates the two storeys, there is a hall that has maintained the characteristics and the flavour of that period, a separate kitchen, an air-conditioned living room and a bathroom with shower Returning to the hall, one can access the first floor’s small balcony whit chairs and table by an old stairway made out of stone. On that floor there is an air-conditioned bedroom with sea-view and double bed, and a bathroom with shower.
The Picciolo Golf Club is the first golf course constructed in Sicily. It was designed, in the 1989, by Luigi Rota Caremoli. The beautiful 18 holes are among oaks, hazels and vineyards.
How to get there: From the motorway A-18 Catania-Messina take the Fiumefreddo di Sicilia exit; then follow the S.S. 120 direction: Piedimonte Etneo, Linguaglossa, Randazzo. After 800 mts from the turning for Castiglione di Sicilia, on the left there are 2 big pine trees.

This is a fantastic location, walkable to the beach and lots of great seafood restaurants.
It is extremely useful to have your own private area to park. Air conditioning and a dishwasher!!!! were a big plus.
Carmen was a really good host, milk, wine, beer, yoghurts in the fridge when we arrived, along with fresh fruit.
It was our wedding anniversary and Carmen presented me with flowers on our arrival which also made it very special.
Thank you again Carmen

We had a wonderful stay in Letojanni. I have been visiting Letojanni for over 20 years, as a child with my family and now with my own children. This location was fantastic as it was still in walking distance to the beach and the nightlife but yet quiet if you need to get your kids to sleep early.
We were a family of 5 so this was a little tight for us but the host was extremely accommodating and provided whatever it was we needed to make this a pleasurable stay for us.
In all, we had a great stay!

Besonderes Haus in super Lage

Quaint Beach Place
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint place with king bed up and day bed down and two full bathrooms. Kitchenette with gas stove, fridge and washing machine but air dry. Not an easy place to find the first time. Would recommend you meet owner at the Latajanni plaza and follow her to find it. Once found, assigned parking space close by and very close walk to beach. Not far walk to lots of wonderful restaurants and even to some small grocery stores. Red City bus tours at Latajanne plaza taking you to and from 4 different areas close by, including Taormina. Regular buses take you to Taormina as well. Great place to enjoy the beach and then enjoy visiting some awesome villages on the sides of mountains and by the Mediterranean. Enjoy your stay!!

This was a great place to explore the Northeastern side of Sicily.
We were met by the lovely Carmen who saw to it that we had great time with spot on recommendations for places to eat and shop for food and drink.
It was easy to explore Taormina and the Mt. Etna area without the pressure of tour buses.
You could walk along the Sea which was right down the street. The apartment was great with artistic touches that enhanced our experience. We plan to go back next year and are recommending this place to family and friends.

The sailor house was very comfortable, well appointed and spacious. August is probably not the best time of year to visit Sicily but the air conditioning made things very pleasant especially at night.
Carmen was very welcoming and chilling out on the beach, 4 minutes away made the holiday restful. We didn't choose to go far afield, apart from Taormina but there are a lot of places to visit within close proximity if we had wanted to.Nice local restaurants, the ones recommended by Carmen were the best.

Superbe !

Carmen was an incredible hostess and the house was fantastic. We ended up forgoing restaurants and used kitchen and balcony with small table for most meals. The amazing ingredients at the market made long dinners at home such a treat. The location is fantastic - there's no need for a car unless you intend to drive around to leave Letojanni. Getting on foot to nearby villages is very treacherous, but there is a bus system (that we did not use). Carmen was the best. When she heard how excited I was about cherries being in season, she told me she would bring us fresh cherries from her yard. They were the best I've ever eaten!

The little house was perfect for us, a very comfortable couch to lounge on downstairs in the well lit 'basement' kitchen/living room, always a comfortable temperature and quiet due to the thick old walls. A spacious and atmospheric bedroom, plenty of storage space. Cleverly retains the original character of the fisherman's cottage but with quirky and welcoming modern decoration. Very nice to have bathrooms up and downstairs. Good quality bedlinen and towels, beach mats, umbrella and towels a very nice touch. Everything good quality and very clean. A very clever conversion on the first floor means that with both the windows open, there is a balcony, always light and with a little sea view, a lovely relaxing spot for morning coffee or evening wine. The sea is only a few seconds away around the corner, and you can drink your coffee or glass of wine there too, sitting on the wall and looking at the lovely view; only fishermen and the odd sunbather make it to this end of the beach, so it feels very peaceful. Carmen herself made the stay very easy from the start, kindly picking us up and dropping us back at the station, leaving us coffee and milk, beautiful strawberries, and a sack of gorgeous oranges from her garden when we left (and we got them back on the aircraft!) She generously offered us lifts to local beauty spots and provided great advice on where to eat (Carpe Diem), and left us with guides and timetables. The house is perfectly located at the very end of the sea front road which meant a lovely walk of 10 min any time we wanted to go to the local grocery shops (full of helpful and friendly locals and delicious Sicilian food) or for gelato or meals. Over the week, we really got to learn the rhythm of the local people, recognising the same old chaps at the cafe at 5.45pm, the children out with parents for gelato in the early evening, families dining at 9pm, and we have many lovely photos to remind us of the fantastic moonscapes over the sea. So easy to get around, you don't need a car; bus to Taormina (take in the stunning cliff views) trains to Syracuse, Santa Teresa (seafood), Catania, tour of Etna booked in Letojanni. This stay really exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay there again if we return to beautiful Sicily. Thank you Carmen!

We had a perfect holiday in the Sailor House. Carmen, the owner, was very friendly and provided us with information about what to do and she told us about the best places to eat. The house is really perfect. It has everyting you need for a relaxing holiday. We also liked the interior of the house very much. It is so nicely furnished. We enjoyed the fact that the beach is so close from the house. Only 30 meters! Letojanni is also a very nice town. We highly recommend Carmens Sailor House! Thank you Carmen for your hospitality.

Perfect Getaway
We stayed at Sailor House for a week, and it truly was the best place to stay in Letojanni. The apartment is situated right by the beach at the end of the promenade so was very quiet and peaceful. The apartment itself is large and spread over 3 floors so it feels very spacious. It has 2 large, modern bathrooms, a fully kitted kitchen and double bedroom with lots of storage space. The balcony overlooks the sea, and the apartment in general had a lovely beach-feel to it, with lots of natural light.
Carmen was a delightful hostess, she kindly arranged for us to be collected from the airport and showed us all the main attractions. She also gave us some delicious Italian coffee and fruit and veg from her own garden, which was such a lovely touch.
If you are looking for a quiet beach holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of Taormina then Sailor House is definitely the place to stay. Letojanni itself has a wide variety of authentic Sicilian restaurants, beautiful beaches, and has a real local flavour to it.

What an amazing little gem of a house.
Great location for a relaxed sun holiday. The house is in perfect condition, nice size bedroom, shower room, kitchen is nice. Free wifi which is always good for planning your daily trips, right beside the beach which has lovely mountains in the backround which is great for paragliding. Which is really popular. Really quiet area which make it more special.
A long streched beach with nice restaurants little shops. Very close to tormina which has great beaches, bars, restaurants, nice little streets with great history.
This is a must see place when you come to scicly.
The owner of the house is such an amazing women with a great personality, really friendly, helpful. Provided fruit, coffee and most of all a list of great local restaurants which were outstanding.

Our stay in the Sailor's House has been absolutely amazing! on our arrival late in the evening we didn't have time to do our shopping. But Carmen, the owner, provided delicious strawberries, coffee etc. for breakfast next morning, so that we immediately felt home. We said to eachother that this must be the hospitality that can only be found in Sicily. Also, she provided excellent information about where to go and what to do. She will tell you where the best places are for dining, swimming and everything else. The house itself exceeded our expectations, nicely furnished and with a real historical sense to it. Perfect as a base from where we explored the volcanó area around Etna, and walked to the center of Taormina. Not as busy, but still very nice to walked around is Letojanni itself. We found the little alley with balconies very charming. And seeing the locals fishing on the beach in the evening, gave us the feeling that we were among the local people and not in the middle of mass tourism. We are very excited about this place. The only thing we regret about our holiday is that we booked for only a week. We recommend any couple who wants to go to Sicily to rent this lovely home. (But beware, we already told our friends and family, so we're not sure it will be available any time soon ;-))).
Best regards,
Mischa & Karin (girlfriend, not wife ;-))

We stayed 1,5 months in this house and enjoyed our stay. Carmen is an excellent landlady for sure - starting from the welcome dinner (fruits and wine and coffee) and providing us with the baby bed and seat and she was always available for answering any questions that we had. Every week cleaning and change of linen/towels, beach towels and umbrella at our disposal, kitchen equiped with everything we needed (and we mostly cooked at home). Air-conditioning worked fine (and you do need it in July). The only things that we didn't like was the lack of daylight in the house (we stayed indoors in the daytime when the sun is too hot) and cars/motos beeping all the time (as in the rest of Letojanni too).
Letojanni is a very-very nice place, lots of "prons" for a family vacation with kids (our son was only 6 months when we went there) - in June there were very few tourists and clean beaches, we loved ice cream (gelato) and granita in the tiny gelaterias, the tastiest pasta and pizza, little fish markets where we bought fresh fish in the mornings, fresh fruits and vegetables and a very unique place for this region - "Paradise" beachclub (only 30 metres from the house) with a swimmingpool, reastaurant, park (excellent landscape design) and very very friendly staff. People in Letojanni are very nice, openminded, relaxed - you feel like at home when you are there. We rented a car and explored Sicily - will be back one day for sure

sunny place
Accueil chaleureux. Soleil et chaleur au mois de novembre. Nous avons passé un bon moment. Merci.

We want to thank Carmen for a very pleasant holiday in Letojanni.
We arrived late in the night but it was no problem for Carmen and we were well received. There was a plate of fresh fruit waiting for us and Carmen gave us a good information about interesting villages aroud Letojanni.
The house was perfect, fully corresponding to our expectations, tastefully decorated with beatifull colors and well-functioning. We also liked very much the environment which was both rustic (we met chickens and sheeps on our morning walks!) and urban with restaurants, pizzerias and smaller supermarkets. And it was only a few steps to the beach. Taormina iwas near, with quite good bus connections.
Carmen took us to two nearby villages, Savoca and Forza d´Argo and she was a very good guide for us.
One of the reasons why we chose this house was that we coudl take our dog with us. Also he was pleased!
We warmly recommend this property.
Thank you again, and good luck and success for the future!

The house is as nice as shown on the photos. Colorfully painted and beautifully furnished. It is only a few meters away from the beach. And a few more meters away from bars and restaurants. It is quiet if you don´t mind everyone coming around the corner blowing his horn to announce his approach. That´s a bit enervating after a while. It was very hot at the time we stayed, but the house has thick old stone walls that produce a good climate inside!- For your stay I strongly recommend a rental car, because one can´t possibly spend all his time in Letojanni, which is good for bathing and dining and that´s it. But there are so many sights within a few hours in reach- we had a great time! Carmen gave us some good tipps where to go. Thank you!

My partner and I stayed at this property for 6 nights in September. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and it was exactly what we were looking for. Carmen kindly met us in Letojanni and drove us to the property-she gave us a good explanation of the local amenities. On our departure she drove us to the bus stop-which she didn't have to. The bed was very comfortable and the property was tastefully decorated. We would strongly recommend this place. The area is quite and ideal for a couple.

Positive aspects were that the interior was very tastefully decorated and furnished, the house had 2 modern bathrooms, a spacious main bedroom and overall is clean & well equipped. The location near the beach is fine, parking no problem and relatively easy access to the town.
However we did not enjoy our stay because...
The alleyway leading to front door was home to pigeons so floor was carpetted with pigeon droppings.
Main living room was dark and gloomy - only one tiny window. Lack of natural light on groundfloor & no view from the house was a major drawback. Bed uncomfortable but sadly this is often the case with rented property.
Finally the fact that a neighbouring house was being renovated during our stay meant unwelcome noise early in the morning but I guess this problem will go away.
