A week in Bretagne
Prachtig landhuis in stille landelijke omgeving van alle gemakken voorzien. Krakende vloeren..piepende leidingen maken dit huis tot steenrijke plek voor grotere gezinnen...

we booked this property for august 2018 . We had to share the site with another family because the owner had booked the property again via another site. HomeAway have not provided any help under their guarantee, I would recommend avoiding this proterty and homeaway

Property and swimming pool lovely. Large garden which was perfect for children.
If you are a large party with some single adults - you need to know there is no ‘family’ bathroom as such - just ‘en suite’.
Worked fine for us - but could be an issue.
Simone, the owner, very friendly and helpful.
A good holiday!

Super !

We had a lovely holiday in a delightful property.
The property was very well equipped, well maintained and very clean. Simone and Alan were great hosts and very helpful with plenty of good recommendations.

Large family Holiday
From the start of the booking process both Alan and Simone looked after us perfectly. Clear & open communication, no hidden costs and regular dialogue over the months leading up to our stay.
Just like the owners, the place is welcoming and relaxed. Staying in the main farmhouse suited us perfectly. 14 in total including 6 adults, 4 teenagers and 4 younger children there was plenty of space for all. It really does offer something for everyone. Peace & quiet for elderly parents, lots of local amenities for Mums & Dads and freedom to run and play all day around the grounds for the children.
Location was perfect for us - spent so much time in Dinan & St Malo along with the local villages...we soon became regulars in one or two local bars and supermarkets. When we didn't eat out, we enjoyed BBQ's in the sun around the huge outdoor eating areas and even invited new friends over where we easily accommodated 25 people around the tables.
Very sad to leave this wonderful farmhouse, new friends we made, the beautiful scenic area and the French way of life....we will not hesitate to return.
Thank you both for looking after us...

Arrived and met by Alan and Simone who showed us around the property. At the end of a lane and very peaceful. I went with my family (10 adults & 7 childfen under 6) for my 60th birthday. The farmhouse and bedromms were far more than I expected. The sand pit and swings and slides were perfect for the children. The pool also had a lock on the gate so there were no problems. The children just went outside anld played wherever without any watching from the parents. The large table for eating al fresco coupled with the large barbecue made the self catering part of the holiday very easy. As we were at the end of the lane we had peace and quiet throughout the holiday. Not a sound at night.
We were 25mins from St Malo and the beaches. So much to see in the area. Dinan,Dinard, St Malo and many other places too numerous to mention." wseeks is not enough.15 mins from the nearest supermarket. Try the live lobster (about £10 each ) and Cotes du Rhone wine(£1.60). 8 bottles a night is more than enough!.
In all, a holiday I thoroughly enjoyed. Assisted by a lovely inobtrusive couple who gave us any advice we asked for.
What a great time and place.
Thanks again to Alan & Simone

We recommend NOT rentning this property. Not worth the price. Outdated and poor layout and location. The main house smells of mold and one of the bathrooms and adjacent bedroom reeks from septic tank problems. The picture of the pool is deceptive -- the "pool" is above ground. The owner does not stand up to the issues and, 8 weeks later, we are still awaiting repayment of our deposit (despite the owner having promised to repay deposit and also having strict deadlines about payment up front).

This is the most perfect place for a family, We have stayed twice two year's in a row, (In la Loge and L'eurie) We couldn't go for a third year because we moved away from the UK. How ever we are planning on going back to stay in La loge in the future.
We all have very fond memories of the Holiday's, my girls especially enjoyed the beaches at St. Malo and I the market's at Dinan and Combourg.
We had truly idyllic holiday's here the fresh Bread and pastires every mornig from the bakery in the village (minute's away) Day's spent Swimming in the sea Lido's in St malo or checking out one of the many attraction's near by and then bab -b-Que every evening, While my girls played in the sand pit or on the swing's.

We enjoyed last years holiday at Le Clos du Rouvre so much we booked up again within weeks and came back this year!
It is situated in a lovely rural location yet is only 30 - 40 minutes from St Malo and the ferry port.
Le Clos du Rouvre is lovely and we have now stayed in both L'Ecurie and as the family got a little bigger, this year we were in La Loge. We have three children who are 3, 5 and 7 and they loved the freedom of child friendly environment, with much time spent in the garden playing table tennis or on the swings, hanging out in the 'toy shed', or taking on large construction projects in the big sand pit. In addition to all of this is of course is the lovely pool where we spent many happy days in the sun. All of these will provide an opportunity for Mum and Dad to find some well earned time for themselves.
Successful family holidays need plenty of variety and the area around Le Clos du Rouvre offers this in spades, with historic towns such as Dinan, Combourg and St Malo offering a lot to see and do and all demand some time, well spent, just exploring at a leisurely pace.
Beyond the towns you will find the many lovely beaches of the north Brittany coast and all make an easy and excellent day out, by the way driving is a breeze as the roads are so quiet even during August! If you like a town beach Dinnard is hard to beat.
This is one of the biggest secrets of Le Clos du Rouvre it is so quiet and peaceful but has many attractions and places to visit within a short drive. In addition to those above there is Cobac Park which is a must for a family with varied fun rides and entertainment for all ages, and La Bourbonsais is a beautiful Chateau with lovely grounds and an animal park (both are great days out).
Catering is also easy as there are a number of excellent supermarkets in and around the area for stocking up on neccessities with good quality produce ideal for the barbecue (used most nights), beer and wine.
Sometimes going back somewhere for a holiday can be a dissappointment but not here, we had another lovely holiday and still came home with a list of things we did not get round to doing, all of which will just have to wait for next time!.

An easily accessed and beautifully maintained property with plenty of amenities for a large mixed age group. We've been twice and would certainly consider returning again. The gite is close enough to St Malo, Dinard, Dinan and Mont St Michel for easy sightseeing.
The pool is a huge selling point for the children and we have spent days just sitting reading by the pool while they make the most of it!
The local produce is excellent and again, if you get the weather barbequeing is a positive pleasure!
Le Clos is a fabulous house, particularly for family groups and the fact that there are 4 bathrooms in the house is a major plus.
If you are looking for a relaxing family group holiday, I would highly recommend Le Clos.

We stayed at Le Clos du Rouvre for five nights over my husband’s birthday and had a lovely time.
We travelled by car from England to France – the location was easy to find and the journey was about 5 hours from Calais.
Once there, we were amazed about the beautiful property, the scenic garden and swimming pool. On our arrival, the owner welcomed us very warm and showed us around the entire property and was really helpful during our stay.
The Farmhouse, cottages and grounds are all well-maintained and clean.
We can recommend this property as a romantic getaway, but as well for a family holiday and will definitely return next year - we could have easily filled 10 more days with sight seeing, beach trips, etc.

Post wedding extended family escape
After our daughter's wedding the rest of the family needed time to relax and unwind. We certainly experienced this at Le Clos. The house was well equipped and very comfortable, our only problem was that with our particular grouping we could have done with a seperate toilet/bathroom in addition to the four en-suites, which left two bedrooms without facilities. We enjoyed the bbq but it was two chilly in early September to use the pool. We went exploring the local area every day and especially enjoyed Dinan and Le Mont St Michel. Our fifteen month old grandaughter started crawling in Le Clos so that will always be a fond memory.

Relaxing family holiday
We (2 adults, a 2 year old and a baby) had a lovely time in the little cottage called L'Ecurie where we stayed for 2 weeks in September 2008. Alan, the owner, was always helpful and made sure we had everthing we needed. Our two year old enjoyed the playground and unlimited access to the different outdoor games equipment available. There was enough space and games and activities at the cottage to keep us amused even when the weather was bad. It is also ideally located for day trips to nearby Dinan, Dinard, St Malo and other sandy beaches when the sun comes out. The cottage was very well equipped with everything that we needed. We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the relaxing atmosphere and tranquillity of the location.

Lovely location, great house w/good facilities
We (Danish family of 4 w/2 teenage daugthers) enjoyed a great week in Britanny in July in La Loge. We were impressed with the very well-equipped Breton stone cottage (nice and cool), the lovely garden and pool area, table tennis, and many games and books provided. Also, the location is ideal for relatively short day trips to the nearby towns of Dinan, Dinard, Rennes and St.Malo - all very enjoyable and highly recommendable.

15 women, no fights
With 15 women from our association (all independent women, age 19-28) we had the plan to go on a relax/ culture holiday. We hired the house because it seemed very romantic, nearby nice towns and nature, and it had space to play outside/swim.
We hired 2 vans and drove from the Netherlands to Brittany. We had a lovely week there, and that was not in the last place because of the house. The weather was bad and therefore we had to spent more ime inside than we thought, especially in the evenings. The 2 living rooms were big enough for us 15 to relax or play games, the rooms had nice hot showers/ bathtubs! and the DVD-players did their work. On better days we used the pool or went for a ride to Rennes, St Malo, or Dinan, or for a walk in the ature nearby. Without a lovely house like this, our holiday would have looked a lot more less sunny!
