lovely, well kept house

My family had a wonderful 3 night stay here! Accommodations were perfect for our family of 5 (Dad, Mom, 14 yr. boy, 10 yr. girl, and 7 yr. boy). The area is beautiful and we would happily return. The hostess is very responsive and kind!! There is also an AMAZING playground just several driveways away that we thoroughly enjoyed for a couple hours during the final night of our stay (We even spent some time there after checking out!). Lastly, my 7 yr. son told me he wanted to live at the Dragonfly 😀. Thank you Bonnie for allowing us to enjoy your winter home, at the end of summer!

Being able to be anywhere near the lake is a blessing. Bonnie was the best host with such kindness and local welcome! Our summer to say goodbye to our family lake house we are selling was made so comfortable with this lovely home. It was clean, cool, and lovely amenities!

The Dragonfly was a perfect place for our sisters' vacation. It is cozy, warm, and welcoming. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, it provided us room to be together without disturbing one another with various sleep routines. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked with everything we needed and more. The antiques and furniture were beautiful and added to the ambiance. We even discovered a new favorite game amongst the many Bonnie has available (Trekking the National Parks). The location is an easy distance from many vacation activities. Bonnie was very kind and welcoming and quickly responded to any questions we had. We want to come back next summer!

You can go ahead and believe all of the 5-star reviews for this lovely little house. It is immaculate, has beautiful antiques, books and art, comfortable furniture and a beautifully stocked kitchen. It is the six-month home of the host and you can feel her love of the space and an artistic life lived there. I won’t repeat the accurate description of the other amenities, but you will have no regrets choosing to stay here. The location is also perfect for a three day visit to see the splendid beauty of the dunes and coastline.

We loved staying at this place. It was very spacious, very clean, and the host's communication was excellent. We biked & hiked in the Glen Arbor area. This place is just a very short, scenic drive to the stores and restaurants in downtown Glen Arbor. We loved it.

Very nicely kept property that is super clean and well located for enjoying the Sleeping Bear Dunes area. We are a family of four and we greatly appreciated calling "The Dragonfly" our home away from home. Bonnie, the host, has provided everything that one could possibly need in the kitchen, and the fire ring out back was a nice place to end the days. The house itself is very tastefully decorated and the furniture is super clean and comfortable. My son and I enjoyed reading some of the local history books that are provided in the home. WIFI was strong and consistent. The neighbor Beth was very kind to us in providing information that enhanced our stays in the area as sightseeing info and dining tips were just the tip of the info that she shared with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would recommend this booking to anyone. Thanks Bonnie - we look forward to staying at your home again!

This was our third year in a row staying at the Dragonfly. We always have a great time. Bonnie is so fantastic and attentive. The place is always pristine when we arrive. She includes so many wonderful nuances and special touches that most hosts would never even think of: A fire pit with plenty of furniture to sit around the fire. Drink tables, a barbecue, marshmallow skewers, a fully loaded kitchen with plenty of pots and pans, a toaster, coffee maker, Vitamix blender, enough dishes and bowls to accommodate all visitors (and then some). She has thought of everything, and is constantly seeking ways to make our stay more comfortable.
The location couldn't be better... It is peaceful and quiet... yet it is right in the center of everything. Minutes from Sleeping Bear dunes, minutes from downtown Maple City, Empire, Cedar -- and of course, close to many access points to Lake Michigan and Glen Lake.
The beds and the furniture are very sturdy and comfortable -- they are the real deal. Not the low-quality foam mattresses you find in many places. Perfect for relaxing or getting a good night's rest -- even for people who have bad backs and need extra support.
We have accumulated many happy memories from our previous visits to this wonderful place. We anticipate many returns to the Dragonfly.

Not exactly what I expected, however beds were comfortable (first time in renting a house for a getaway that I needed to provide sheets for bedding(had to buy extras for trip). However all worked out OK. Living room just right for 4 of us. More would have been crowded. House clean. TV issue d/t service. We were able to work around that....so that ended up ok also. We had a good time.

My family had a lovely stay here at Bonnie's home! She set us up well at her spacious and cozy house with everything we needed to stay comfortably, cook when we felt like it, come back with takeout, relax after moseying around town or climbing the dunes. Her house was very clean, organized and comfortable. We loved the original art she had up on her walls as well! We were just a short drive from Glen Arbor and loved the woodsy drives, were just down the street from a great ice cream shop and also from an amazing playground. Her property felt secluded yet close to town and to various restaurants. We've stayed in town as well and felt we got the best experience staying at Bonnie's home, as we were very close to Glen Lake, Glen Arbor, multiple restaurants and also had the seclusion we aimed to experience from UpNorth.

The home and property were quiet, peaceful, and immaculate. Our host Bonnie made sure we were comfortable and responded quickly. We enjoyed morning fires with our coffee and breakfast. This is the perfect size for a few couples. Bonnie's artwork was enjoyable and added warmth to our stay. Kitchen is well-equipped and has a large island. The living room and bedroom furniture was all comfortable, and there are antique chests and tables throughout the house. This home is in a perfect location--minutes from Glen Lake, Sleeping Bear Nat'l Lakeshore, Empire, Leland, and Cedar. Nature and beauty in every direction. Thank you so much Bonnie!

Lovely home and property
Host Bonnie was a great communicator. Answered all of our questions promptly. Her home and property are lovely. Woods on 2 sides of the house. Outdoor patio table and chairs, propane grill, firepit and plent of wel seasoned split logs. The beds were very comfy and the master bath has a wonderful shower with sliding glass doors. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything and anything you need to make a great meal. Central air was wonderful. Bonnie and her daughter are artists and her home is filled with their paintings. She even left us a nice bag of goodies. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Centrally located to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Glen Arbor, Leland, Suttons Bay and all the unique Lake Michigan beach towns.

High degree of excellence
My family of five had a great stay at the Dragonfly Cottage. The house and property were very clean and very well maintained. The host was exceptional and messaged us to make sure our stay was going well. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything one would need to prepare meals. The property is spacious and provided great shaded outdoor seating and a nice gas grill. Several trees on property that allowed for hanging hammocks and relaxing in the shade. Great fire pit with plenty of wood provided. Short drive or bike ride to Glen Lake and a small park with easy access to a public dock in order to swim, paddle board, etc. This place worked out great for us and we would definitely stay there again.

Everything you need for a relaxing get-away
Bonnie is great to deal with. She made sure we had everything we needed for a nice vacation. The house was more than enough for the four of us, and could easily accommodate two couples, and two other guests. There is a great fire pit for a nice evening with marshmallows and hotdogs, she has an gas grill, a couple out door tables and plenty of outdoor chairs. The kitchen is stocked with all the standard tools most people would need. The place is very clean and pleasant -- easy to relax in. The firefly is situated very close to Glenn Lake and all the worth-while attractions the Peninsula has to offer.

Super comfy and homey!
Outstanding property and our host was amazing. We are older and technologically challenged and struggled with getting the tv to work. She stopped over and between us all we got it working! Her hospitality was top notch!!! We will be staying here again when we travel for our next Michigan getaway!!👍👍👍

The Dragonfly is a perfect location if you’re looking to explore the Leelanau Peninsula, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City areas. Hiking, wine tasting, Lake Michigan, amazing scenery and views, all within minutes of this well appointed little gem. The property was quiet, clean, nicely furnished and comfortable. Bonnie was responsive whenever contacted and welcomed us with a little hostess gift upon our arrival. We were able to enjoy the outside fire pit and having access to a gas grill - truly had everything we needed. Thanks for sharing your home Bonnie. We hope to be back next year.

Perfect Location
The Dragonfly is comfortable, attractive and close to everything we visited! It’s large enough for two couples and a child or two. We enjoyed the wooded setting, the outdoor firepit and Netflix movies when we weren’t out exploring the incredible Sleeping Bear Dunes region. Bonnie was very responsive at all times.

Wonderful stay at Dragonfly Cottage
What can I say? We had such a wonderful stay my 7 y/o wants to move to Michigan! Bonnie's place is extremely comfy, clean and impressively organized, with many thoughtful and attractive touches that made is feel at home. We loved the peaceful, rural setting, which felt very safe for our young family. Very accessible to the gorgeous beaches and villages - so much to explore nearby, it really is an ideal location. Thank you to Bonnie especially for being so communicative and accommodating when life threw us a few unexpected curveballs during our stay! Highly recommended.

Excellent location and very responsive owner
My family of three (including a 3-year-old) stayed here for 4 nights. The location is really convenient (15 min drive to sleeping bear dunes) and quiet. The yard is huge and perfect for a toddler that needs to burn off some energy before heading to the dunes. The owner was especially responsive. We received a response to any question we emailed within 24 hours (at the latest). She was also very quick to respond when we had a question once we arrived. When she learned we had a toddler, she put out some toys, including a small care bear that she let our son keep (he loved it!). She also provided some very thoughtful cherry salsa and jam as a local gift. These small touches, her attention to detail, the cleanliness of the space, and her quick responses to any questions made us feel that much more comfortable traveling during COVID. I would definitely stay here again.

Would stay here again - well kept, comfy & great central location to area attractions
My small family stayed here in September 2020. Because of COVID, we wanted to stay somewhere nice for a week away & this property fit the bill. The house is well kept - nicely furnished, well stocked, roomy, with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Nice quiet location outside town but a short drive to all the area attractions - Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor, Traverse City. Owner was responsive & easy to work with, answering our questions before & after booking. Lots of thoughtful touches around the house - nightlights, crayons & books for young ones. Would definitely stay here again when looking for a vacation home in the area.
