The view is beautiful from inside and outside the house. We particularly enjoyed taking the 2 provided kayaks on the sound.
The beds were soft and comfortable, the area was calm/quiet.
Doug responded very quickly to any question we had.
The only thing that makes me give an overall 4 stars, and not 5, is the cleanliness. The 3 cabins had more dust and cobwebs than we liked, and all the outside furniture (fire pit table, picnic table and chairs) need to be cleaned.

Relaxing and beautiful. Doug was a great host and quickly fixed an issue we had. Our only concern was it felt like the last clean was a few weeks prior, we found more dust and cobwebs than what were normally used to on VRBO.

Amazing place for getting together

We looked for a place that could accommodate our 3 adult children and families on the Puget Sound waterfront. 9 of us in all with plenty of space for more. This is the perfect place for it.
Ample space to spread out or hang together as desired. There are 3 separate buildings but all just steps away from each other. We weren't sure how that would be but turned out to be absolutely perfect. Extremely well equipped kitchen and lots of fun indoor and outdoor activities.
The hosts communicated along the way and made us feel very welcome and comfortable.
This right on the water so we spent a lot of time on the outside patio and walking the rocky shore collecting and observing the myriad of open creatures. If you've ever wanted to see live sand dollars this is the place with thousands of them.
I couldn't recommend this place more. Absolutely gorgeous views and spectacular sunsets!
You won't be disappointed!

Our family gathered in this beautiful location. First time for all on the Puget Sound. We enjoyed the sounds and beauty of nature in a private setting. The common area was used constantly by all and really set up a atmosphere of a family gathering. The kitchen was excellently equipped. The sleeping buildings served our purpose of having some privacy. We all loved using the kayaks right off the patio into the sound. It truly is a comfortable, warm and kid friendly place.

I was only disappointed in the lack of cleanliness and the musty smell in the Kingfisher Bldg. Had a great time otherwise.

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much! We had every thing we needed for a great get together. The property is very nice with a lot of nice touches. Just being able to get away from the hustle and bustle was worth it all!!

What a month!
Such a Great time at the cabins. My dogs really enjoyed it! Such a spot on location and it is a good vibe all around. Lgbt+ friendly area which made it more comfortable for us all around.
The 3 things I would Upgrade
- the beds. I sadly hurt My back sleeping in them for so long as they’re A bit older. Nothing crazy and had to see a massage person but it s a simple fix.
- air filter system in the Kings fisher cabin as we couldn’t stay in there cause of the mildew smell. I think it’s only cause of the attic that doesn’t have property air flow.( guests don’t have access to attic )
a bigger couch or two in the living rooms of both cabins with a TV. I am 6’6 so I couldn't Really lay down much in the living room on those rainy days . Would love to suggest some super inexpensive products and companies to solve all the above very effectively!
Other than that we LOVED the place. And we will be returning with friends and family!

Think of it as a cabin, not a house
Overall this is a cozy little cabin. It is three buildings, each have a bathroom. The cabana has the kitchen in it.
We lost power, due to a storm one day, which, since the water is on a well and uses power, no power means no water also.
It came back on a few hours later. On another day, the water pressure ONLY went out, no storm, we had to call the owner who called a plumber who was asking me questions I couldn't answer (bc I am the renter) so I had to get the owner on the phone and act as a liaison, which made no sense. The owner should have been there on site?!
The owner said they had DSL only, but actually, they DO have wi-fi. (We found out after we got up there) It's NOT the fastest but it accommodated a laptop and 7 phones.
Some things need to be addressed:
1. Drawers in the kitchen are dirty and some of the utensils, serving spoons, tongs etc, need to be replaced, as they are broken or very rusty. I even bought new pot holders for them bc theirs were ripped and no idea why they weren't in the trash?!
2. Better more thoroughly cleaned, my niece found old hard dog poop under bunk bed.
3. The Blue Heron building has a MAJOR window leak, it was dripping a lot in multiple places and you can see the water damage on the outside as well. (It was spring, so rained a lot)
4. The outside door lock to cabanna is broken, when we got there, it was open. we thought it was just unlocked, but it's actually broken, so we had to figure out a way to secure it at night. It's a nice cozy cabin feeling, just a tad cleaner would feel more comfortable.

Best vacation so far.
We had a great time. The consensus was this was the best vacation so far. My daughter’s families and I like to take family vacations and this home was perfect. Two separate buildings so each family had their own building for sleeping and we could all get together for meals, games, etc in the main building. The beach was fun and my dog even had fun playing in the water. Lots of clams and marine life for the kids. The Kingfisher building was a little musty. Unfortunately we probably will not be staying here again because of Vrbo. We had an issue with Vrbo and their solution was for me to ask the home owner to provide a discount which would not be fair to either the home owner or me. I wish I had read the reviews on Vrbo first. Oh well live and learn. Other than Vrbo this is a great place to stay.

Absolutely Lovely. I wish we'd booked it for longer.
The property is so charming. It was great to recharge. The kids loved having a separate building that was just for them. They spent hours up in the loft. The view is amazing. We had a great time in the kayaks.
Our only issue was that we had no cell service at all (T-Mobile), and the Wi-Fi was too weak for Wi-Fi calling. This was only a problem because I forgot to bring some necessary medication, and I was unable to make or receive calls with the pharmacy for that. It would have been nice if I could have provided a landline number to the pharmacy and to the friend who was watching our pets back home. So, if you're on T-Mobile, be very sure that you won't need to be able to reach anyone by phone during your stay.
Overall, we had a really wonderful time. Thank you so much, Marcia and Doug!

Lovely location, cute place, but not perfect.
The location was absolutely fabulous for our family gathering. The deck and patio are perfect for hanging out and enjoying one another. We exclusively used the outdoor picnic table since it was so nice and enjoyed the patio fire table most nights. The kitchen is well supplied and everything works well. Marcia and Doug were very helpful, prompt and communicative about any questions or needs.
My biggest issue is that there is NO safe beach access. The VRBO pictures show stairs leading to the beach but there are only sand covered boulders to climb down. This rental won't work for elderly folks or those of us with mobility issues who want easy beach access.
A couple of easily fixed issues are: the front yard and walkways need yard maintenance. They are overgrown, weedy and messy looking for such a cute place. There is a musty smell in both sleeping houses and some of the pillows smelled like mildew. New fresh pillows would be helpful.

Beautiful out of the way location
Truly enjoyed the stay. The home had a unique set up with sleeping areas separated from the main living/gathering area. There were different structures for each. This afforded a lot of privacy for people wanting to head to bed early and not be interrupted by the rest. The tidal flats were an amazing sight. Seals were in attendance across the bay.
Bring water shoes if your feet are sensitive, the beach is mostly 4-6" glacial stone. Older people or those with bad knees may have a difficult time getting down to the shore, there were no steps at the seawall but we used the larger stones and had no problems. The place is clean and pretty secluded. At the risk of not having the place available the next time we want to visit, I have to say this was by far one of the better places we have stayed and would definitely recommend it.

Amazing
Beautiful location, perfect for our family reunion. The teenagers stayed in the lighthouse bunk beds, and we all enjoyed convening in the living area or relaxing on the deck where we gawked at the gorgeous view.

Great place for our family stay
The cabins were clean and comfortable and had everything we could want/need for our stay. The 4th of July was lots of fun on Rocky Bay, with a giant fireworks display across the water. Marcia was very helpful, going above and beyond to help us as we traveled into the area. A great experience!

Relaxing Vacation
Lots of space, it was great having separate buildings for sleeping privacy. Great views that never got old. We were able to clam and kayak right in front of the house. Property exactly as it is listed.

Amazing view and beach access
If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay with beach access, this is the place! Having kayaks available for our use was a definite bonus! Beautiful space and a wonderful home away from home with every amenity that you can think of!

Amazing
I stayed with my whole family here for a week. We were just up visiting our family out there. It was my family of 5, my mother and father, my sister and her son. The property was absolutely beautiful and very clean. I will definitely rent this property again for the next trip we take up there as long as it's available. Thank you again for allowing us to stay.

Tranquility at Rocky Bay
It was a treat to get to stay at this property on Rocky Bay for an entire month. It was easy to have family time in the main building during meals and in the evening and mornings and then being able to escape to the Lighthouse to work.

W O W
After selling our West Seattle home, we were excited to get away from the noise and traffic and settle in somewhere calm and serene for the month. This place did not disappoint in any way. From communication/check-in/responsiveness of hosts to amenities, being right on the water. We loved the separate buildings (yes, you really do get all three). It was great to join together for meals, TV, etc. then retreat to our separate spaces for privacy. The views were beyond epic, we had a well-appointed kitchen, beds were comfortable (the Blue Heron is a Sealy and top-notch). The dogs absolutely loved being to roam and sniff, and check out the beach. We knew we were rolling the dice on weather staying in January but it turned out to be quite lovely and the peaceful retreat we needed. I would definitely recommend it. The wifi was a bit spotty, but it is rural living, so to be expected. Just happy to have a connection.

A real gem
We felt immediately at home in this clean and rustic beach house. The location is absolutely incredible. Surrounded by tall evergreens and huckleberry bushes, you barely notice the neighbors, and can quietly enjoy amazing views of the inlet. We enjoy birdwatching and were stoked on all the birds we saw, including a family of five bald eagles that routinely flew overhead and ate fish on the beach. Despite the cold and rain (we visited in November) we were able to enjoy kayaking and beachcombing, and the home's heating system kept us toasty warm. One thing to be advised of: the driveway is nearly impossible to find! We drove past it many times during out stay, even with navigation on. It's also too far out of the way for food and grocery delivery, but there is a nearby grocery store and Mexican restaurant that each do curbside pickup.

Quiet place to recharge
We loved our stay at this property, especially working in the lighthouse, eating clams from out front, and kayaking around Rocky Bay.

Amazing place
The view is worth the trip alone. The layout is perfect for two families, especially during Covid times. But being right on the water is so relaxing, it's the perfect place for a quick escape from real life.

Quiet retreat.
We loved our stay. We normally rent at the beach, but this year we decided to try something different. This was a pleasant change. The house is awesome. I love the how you have sleeping quarters, and a mess hall. This works great for people who have guests that wake up early, like my grandsons. We loved the kayaks, and the paddle boat. We loved walking the shoreline. Loved the fire pit, and the BBQ. Kitchen was very well stocked. And the grandsons loved the outdoor shower.

Family getaway
We rented this property to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday. My family experienced a lot of loss this past year and this getaway was exactly what we needed. The house was the perfect layout for a group with kids. Everyone had their own space and the “hangout house” was a lovely spot to be together. We only ventured to the store once- otherwise our entire weekend was at the house. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could have wanted. We would love to stay here again!

Wonderful waterside retreat great for families
We rented this place with my family and my brother's family and it was fantastic! The separate sleeping bunks are wonderful for multiple family gatherings. We loved the views of the water each morning and my brother and his wife enjoyed paddling every day while the cousins loved going down to the beach to throw rocks. Then we enjoyed having the fire going each night while we played games or watched movies. This was probably one of the best equipped places we've stayed between ample trash bags, ziplock bags, foil, spices, etc. There were even toys for small children and games for all ages - you could tell it was meant for a family get away. Communication with the owner was quick and easy and we really hope we can come back and stay here again. Just wonderful!

Delightful & Tranquil Beauty on the Bay
This is the ultimate vacation house! My wife and I have traveled for work 11 months out the year for the last two years and this is by far our absolute FAVORITE house! The home is very clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with anything you could need during your stay. The views of Rocky Bay are stunning from each of the 3 cabins. The separate spaces would be ideal for larger groups. The beach is a perfect escape for a morning stroll or evening walk, just steps away. The outdoor fire table is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine while looking out at the bay and admiring harbor seals, porpoises, sea lions, river otters, ducks, geese, seagulls, blue heron, and bald eagles (yes, we saw all of the above during our stay!). This unique house is in a quiet area conveniently located for exploring Gig Harbor, Tacoma, and even Seattle, as well as driveable to hikes in the Olympics, Snoqualmie region, and Mount Rainier! The kayaks make for a lot of fun exploring the bay. This is a perfect spot for anyone with fur babies as there are is plenty of running space in the yard as well as on the beach! Marcia was a wonderful host and was always quick to respond to any questions. We are so thankful that Marcia and her family shared this wonderful gem with us and absolutely loved all of our time here. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying in this house if you get the chance!!!

Fantastic escape to the beach
This home is a treasure for a family getaway. We stayed for three nights (4 adults, 2 kids) and next time will bring more as there is plenty of space. The setup is ideal for a large group due to the separate buildings. This allowed adults to sleep in while the kids started their day. In terms of the sleeping spaces, the beds are great, nice and clean and everything you would need in a rental house (blankets, sheets, towels, etc) The lighthouse tower was really fun for the kids to explore and for my wife and I to enjoy a quiet morning coffee with a fantastic view.
The main house has a great layout for communal gathering and the kitchen has all the basics we needed for cooking. Sitting at the table and looking out at the tide rolling in was perfect.
The grounds are fantastic. Great, easy access to the beach and we never worried about our kids being that the cove really keeps the water calm. They spent their days climbing the driftwood, combing through the great selection of shells and swimming in the water. The unobstructed view allowed us to keep an eye on them as well.
Most importantly, Marcia was very responsive and great to work with. We had an issue with lighting the propane fire table one night and she responded to my text immediately helping me fix it.
It’s clear that this is a house that has been well loved and taken care of over the years and we really enjoyed spending some great family time there. We will be back for certain!

Serene and beautiful location. Unique property with most amenities you’d need.
Such a unique little gem! Serene and natural setting. You can hear the road but during quiet times of day all you hear is the wind water and birds. Each building looks out on the bay through big lovely windows and the mornings and evening views are phenomenal.
The accommodation is divided between 3 buildings so be prepared to go outside to get from living space to 2 separate sleeping spaces. The little lighthouse tower was really fun for our daughter. The living spaces are well appointed and mattresses on the beds are very soft. If this Isn’t for you there is a nice futon for sleeping that is firmer.
Outdoors there is a fire pit and a gas fire table as well as 2 kayaks and lots of great seating. The tides are very high/low so it’s amazing to see the birds and walk the shore to pick up shells. We even has a few fresh oysters!
The living/kitchen cabin could use better seating for relaxation and conversation- maybe a small sectional with a coffee table? ( no place to set down a cup in living room) The owner said the sofa was being reapholstered so maybe it will do the trick for comfort. The wicker chairs are cute but rigid not very comfortable. There is one recliner by the window but a gathering place of comfy seating by the fire place would help.
The kitchen is well equipped though the large burner on the stove needs a fix as it’s bent on a significant angle. Everything is in great working order and there is a nice gas bbq outside as well.
WiFi would be a logical addition as the cell service is pretty week. The owners could drop the day tv services and just go to WiFi as people really do use it more than ever.
Just a great spot- highly recommended! Thanks so much to Marcia and family for sharing this treasure!
