Communication with management from the get-go was awesome! The home itself is perfect!! Everything you could need with clear instructions (literally every light switch to fireplace)! Stayed over Thanksgiving and the kitchen was fully stocked with more than expected in terms of appliances, pots, pans etc! The hot tub was so nice! Will absolutely recommend to friends.

Very nice place.
Very nice place. Great location. They jury is still out on the property manager. Will they return my deposit? They have so many rules it seems it is geared to allow them to not return the deposit for any minor infraction..or for no infraction at all.

short get away
We enjoyed our stay, the pictures does not show justice, property was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked and it has everything you need to cook. The only down side was the cleanliness, the sheets had hair and glitters, We have to laundry everything before we have to use .. just to be safe.. otherwise we had a great time. We will surely recommend.

Classy and Cozy
This house is immaculate! It was as if we were the first ever to stay in it. We were there Thanksgiving week and got the sweet surprise of a fully decorated Christmas tree in the foyer. The furniture isn’t cheap, quite hefty in fact, and very comfortable, including the master bed (the only bedroom we used.) The layout of everything is perfect. Lots of space. The kitchen is the best stocked I’ve seen compared to all the other HomeAway places we’ve stayed in. The weather was very cold and we got some snow, too! The fireplaces made it quite cozy. We required maintenance for something minor and they got there fast and were very friendly. The neighborhood is quiet and the only “trespassers” were the ample deer wondering around. The house felt modern and classy. We didn’t use the hot tub or grill so cannot speak to that.
My only two negative comments concerns Hummingbird Cabins business practices. We got to town early (11:30AM) and went to their office. We asked to check in early and the woman at the desk said the house was ready but early check in was at 2PM (free). If we wanted to check in any earlier, we had to pay extra (almost 50% of the daily rate). I made the comment that I had already paid for a whole day why should I pay even more to get in a house that was ready? I get the fee if you are asking the cleaners to do a rush job. But for us to just go over and unpack in a clean house? Absurd. The lady stood firm on their policy. So we had to wait until 2PM. The regular check in is at 4PM. I tend to be put off by companies who want to nickel and dime me.
My second issue is between the contract I signed and the guestbook in the house. The contract states we have to take out the trash or we would get fined. But the booklet they leave in the house for guests states we have to take out the trash, put the towels in the washer, wash the dishes and put them away or we would be fined. According to Hummingbird’s online reputation, they do charge fines for those who don’t follow the rules, even though they aren’t stated in the contract. I find this to be unethical. What if I had not cared to look in the book and just trusted the contract? We did comply with all the rules, regardless of where they were posted, and got our full security deposit back.
I will say, the employees I interacted with both in person, over the phone, or via Homeaway messenger we're extremely polite and helpful. So I don’t want the Hummingbird way of things reflect on the staff.
